Shipped Nov1 from PNS American Sari Sari, checked tracking Dec1 and said delivery UMAC Jan arrival Manila on 10 th, today was received by phone call check today, sure it was, but should receive it in a week or by next week, hmmm ...😂
Hope for you that the gate manufacturer did the right paint job. Zink based primer. Here in rainy Belgium they spray coat first a zink primer. And than powder coat, also large gates.
Weve been using lazada about 8 years , Weve always paid by cod. There are some scammer sellers, I always read it over and over and over again , if it is worded unclear i avoid it , and read all feedback , Plus always pay by cod or go to the hardware store. Nice looking gate.
You haave a beautiful home. Thank you for sharing your life experiences, both the good and the challenges. I learn more from you overcoming your challenges. Respectfully
Scott as far as coffee goes I order it green and roast and grind enough for each cup as I want it myself so I’m a bit harder to please haha. Improvements look absolutely fantastic! Keep up the good work guys. God bless
Very nice, I would like to do a concrete wall to replace a metal fence at my house here on Bohol but feel it will be such a nightmare I'm afraid to start, I replaced a roof on a pretty large neppa hut, talked to (as best I can) 3 different guys to help and none of them ever showed up, did it all myself.
Way to keep your composure and tackle the challenges head-on! You've shown me that I just don’t have what it takes to live in the Philippines-not that they need any more expats over there. I considered moving there back in 2015 when I first met my Filipina wife, but I feel like things are improving here in the U.S. while conditions over there seem to be getting tougher, with rising prices, rampant scams, and a growing number of expats tarnishing their reputations among the locals. Anyway, I enjoy your vlogs and hope you're all doing well. Thanks for your contribution and for keeping us informed about what's happening there!
If you’re close to a Landers too, I believe they have Kirkland (Costco) brand products, they may have some things you can use. Maybe Ace too! Btw, a lot of nice touches around the house there!
Shoppie too. We have rejected so many fake items, like tabela with rice inside or opposite side packages from what you ordered. So the delivery rider waits for us to check it, we open it up, we pay him some pesos for his time, he takes a photo and returns it back. No payment in advance.
always possible to get refunds successfully but takes time and methodical effort so may not be worth it if low value transactions unless you're like me with OCD and completely refuses to be taken advantage of and will expend the effort. know your charge-back options.
Lazada is scary a lot of people on there will tell you it's the proper part for your car blah blah blah and when you get it it's not even close to what they were describing it's a 50-50
i wouldn't put too much faith in those mechanisms as they can be manipulated and often are. i'd put more emphasis on familiarizing yourself intimately with your credit-card etc. charge-back procedures through your bank.the online seller platforms are generally suspect so know what to do if you need to go around those dodgy systems. make sure you do video unboxing etc. gather as much evidence as possible that would support any charge-back efforts. if your bank is a PH bank, no experience with those but am guessing... good luck.
Hahaha Next time you will do it .. Learning how to brum like a Pinoy LOL Good one Scott LOL . Good video enjoyed the Subic part. Stationed at Cubi 66-67 with my squadron flying Skyraiders from Yankee Station
Shoppee much better and trustworthy. We all get scammed here at some point. You're doing great. Ryan here from Jacksonville, FL living in Palawan full time now.
When using Lazada you really have to check the seller’s closely, don’t get if coming from cina unless you know. For big items you can contact the seller in advance and ask questions. Lazada has gotten tricky over time with the way things are listed, you really have to watch the price if you pick a different box and always read the bad reviews before buying. Good luck
Looking good! I'm married to a Manila girl for 28 years. We are considering a move to the Philippines when she retires. I like the videos I have seen of Iloilo but I want to stay close to her family in the Manila area. She likes what she has seen in your videos of Bataan and it's not too far from Manila.
Go to the supply and buy some light angle. After you get the angle go to the tricycle builder and get him to build you a cart with shelves and sheet metal wrap, slap some urethane casters on it and ur set.
Similar thing happened to me on 3-4 occasions while in Cebu. Got to be careful and read all reviews on Lazada. Lazada is good with refunds however I would recommend ordering things through Amazon and have it shipped to the Philippines which they will do.
Hello. You mentioned battery powered tools coming from the US, if you don’t mind me asking, are you using balikbayan boxes? We are retiring this year and I have some battery powered tools that I would like to take to PI. Actually packing my balikbayan boxes now. Just wanted to ask if you had any issues with the batteries. Thanks and more power to your channel.
No issues at all sending batteries in balikbayan boxes. Ive sent many and have more coming. Youll most likely need a voltage converter for your chargers or you can buy a 220v charger here.
It might be different if the item had remained in "undelivered" status. It looks like they wanted you wait longer. After a month or so, you'd try to cancel and they'd say "You accepted delivery and we're now outside the return window."
Haha. I ordered a Vibration Compactor for construction and got Baby Wipes. Got refunded though. About 5-10% of my purchases have been scams of some sort. So far I have always got refunded to my credit card..
Same here. Last year, I ordered a 24ft fiberglass telescopic ladder and received a miniature necklace instead. Wasn't aware of the scammed transaction until over a week. I was advised by the delivery person to process the refund procedure but instead I disputed, the transaction to my NFCU Visa requested a chargeback and refunded. Ordered another ladder in FB Marketplace 1, paid with GCash, shipped via Bataan Transit. Happily received my 24ft ladder 😊 Most of my Lazada orders are paid by COD.
You do see a lot of crabs for sale along the highway. There is a place near us called Remedios Cafe that has a pretty cool outdoor dining area, Food Project, and the Beanery are always popular.

Sorry that you got Scammed, I always order C.O.D. when ordering something from Lazada. I have viewed your channel off and on over the years, beautiful home that you have. An American Expat coming to my Home in the Province of Pangasinan Philippines, soon
Not a prime member but Ive had a few deliveries here. Many products are not available here or have high shipping fees. Ive found a few things and ordered them with no problem but I always look for free shipping.
Yes, the answer is do the COD thing. Lazada, Shoppe, whoever. I will tell you that Amazon has problems if you need to return something. They will tell you to use DHL or whoever, but the local folks that manage the shipping facilities don,t like Amazon. I don,t know why.
I would have two homes if I lived in Australia, but from the USA the Philippines is on the other side of planet earth :) Mexico is very similar to the Philippines as they share the same history with Spaniards etc. Enjoy your retirement :)
I’m considering moving to the Philippines. The main thing I’m worried about is. U.S. Bank and credit card accounts. I’ve heard of people having their accounts locked and they had to go to a bank in the U.S. to fix it. Supposedly if you have a Charles Schwab account, they will close it 6 months after you start using it in the Philippines. The only one I know that works is SDFCU, I tried to open an account with them but it was denied. I have a U.S. address and phone number that I plan to use in the Philippines. Do you have any suggestions. There’s many expats in the Philippines and other countries. How do they do it?
We are using the address of a family member to maintain our US bank and credit card accounts. We plan to possibly return one day and see no reason why we should be forced to close them. Right or wrong thats how I'm doing it. I am also maintaining my US phone number.
I have been ordering through my U.S. Amazon account for the past three years and I get stuff delivered to me here in the Philippines and only once have I received the wrong item. I’ve never had anything shipped from Singapore or Malaysia though. Is it a different part of Amazon?
@ if you’re ordering from Amazon just keep your orders under $160ish to avoid the extra fees and a lot of products have free shipping with orders over $49. Obviously bigger items will cost more for shipping as well as import fees but I usually order once a month and keep my orders between $50 and $150 to try and get free shipping

Did you read the reviews? where did it came from? Just ask for a refund. Lazada will refund it. instead of buying from Lazada why not just custom made tools organizer.
Good video!! I should have immediately contacted my bank when Air Asia scammed me out of a flight that was cancelled. Long story short Air Asia kept promising to send me a refund. I finally got fed up and contacted my bank. My bank said it was too late to request a refund.
I dislike Airasia Philippines. Checking in at Cebu, to Korea, I was obliged to remove all alcohol out of checked luggage!?!?. Security reasons. What? So I had to open my bag at check in and remove 1 bottle of Red Horse😅😅😅. As if that would explode by alcohol fumes😅😅😅 Back to Asiana for sure!
should have provided your bank with all the correspondence with airasia or ensured you had correspondence proof so you had evidence your chain was being yanked and your time wasted.
It’s best NOT to contact your credit card company! Why? Because they will cancel your card for fraud protection! Then you are without a credit card in the Philippines! Been there done that! And it’s a major problem to get another card. Took me three months to get my new card. But Capital ONE has what’s called a virtual card! Which was AWESOME! Why? Because you can immediately use the virtual card number to give to all your online vendors! Like Amazon, Netflix AT&T etc! 😊🙏🏻
Seriously, one positive thing about a major move to the PH is that you can leave the 'bagagage' you have acquired behind. And not bring it all with you to recreate your old life in your new country and new home. I left behind a number of power tools, assorted hand tools, and my beloved Gonzey Pizza Oven, just to name a few things. Well, guess what? I can buy a pizza oven here as well as power tools. But when we don't have something and you find you can live without it, it brings it home that it is an unnecessary item and best left behind. In the USA we are addicted to buying in excess, and believing we 'need' this and that when in facts we don't. Cheers
Better off with my US tools here. Doesnt cost much to throw them in a balikbayan box and send them over. Glad to have them here. Yes we left many things behind that we would love to still have.
One time my Filipina wife accidentally paid for a scam delivery C.O.D.! It was wrong item scam like yours! So I applied for refund with Lazada. They DID give me a refund, ONLY in Lazada credits! So I ended up using those credits to pay for other items later on! It worked but it’s a hassle! 😊🙏🏻
Sorry for your pain! In the Philippines when ordering from Lazada or Shopee I 97% of the time ONLY order C.O.D.! Cash On Delivery! Why? Because of these scams! So with C.O.D. When it arrives at my house, I closely investigate and inspect the package. And even sometimes if it’s an expensive item like over 2000 pesos! I will open the package BEFORE payment to the driver! Most drivers don’t like it! But I force the driver to take a video with his phone of me opening it! So if any damage or wrong item or a scam!? I can reject the package on the spot! BEFORE paying even one peso! 😊🙏🏻
They have tried that 2 times with me. The first was easy because on shopee it showed waiting for pickup than shoppee drivers shows up and I said was it this anf he said it's a Facebook order and it was same price as shopee he said sir it's a scam refuse the order the 2nd time I ordered size 13 shoes for the ocean when it arrived on shoppee the package was the size of an egg I refused delivery because isn't big enough to my order I still gave driver a 40 perso tip since I'm far out and it wasn't his fault
with your video take photos of what your received and im 100% that Lazada will refund you , its happened to me before and i did not have a problem. but start your claim right away. good luck!
You have to read all the reviews 😂 the first 20 or so will be how great and wonderful the product and the seller is, and most of the time all posted on the same day and then you will see the real reviews 😂 omg cod only , never ever pay upfront
I ordered a toolbox full of tools when I first got here 2 years ago. Scammed also. I did COD though. I learned you have to read the reviews before you order.
Enjoy the weather till mid march❤
Yeah thats what Ive heard. Get ready to sweat...more.
I agree I only use COD on Lazada and I have always received what I ordered

Live like a minimalist and don’t be disappointed. That’s my motto especially living in the PI. I don’t really need anything.
Try not to use your American card straight to pay lazada locally, just be careful plenty of scammers even shoppee.
Just return the items to Lazada and they will refund , don't click on received! Seller doesn't get paid before you have accepted the item as received.

Most drivers don’t like it! But I force the driver to take a video with his phone of me opening it! So if any damage or wrong item or a scam!? I can reject the package on the spot! BEFORE paying even one peso! 😊🙏🏻
Good advice! Thanks
@ Your welcome! 😊🙏🏻
you circumvented the Lazada system, this is the PH they do things different, you should have let the process play out, Youre baddddddd
I have had really good luck with getting refunds from Lazada.
Glad to hear you've had good experiences with them!
Sorry to hear about your experience
with your video take photos of what your received and im 100% that Lazada will refund you , its happened to me before and i did not have a problem. but start your claim right away. good luck!

You have to read all the reviews 😂 the first 20 or so will be how great and wonderful the product and the seller is, and most of the time all posted on the same day and then you will see the real reviews 😂 omg cod only , never ever pay upfront
