The fact you can just wiggle them around and they dont care, its just so adorable, its like a cat that never gets old
You really can. They have no spine. They love the attention. If cats are made of liquid, ferrets are made of jelly.
@@ferretyluv I google it said they have spines just very flexible. Or do they not? 🤔
@@LvUhcX Lol I was exaggerating as a joke. Yes, they do have spines, they’re just extremely flexible.
@F__k.Trudeau I wouldn’t say that. I wouldn’t twist them.
Tom Scott sent me. We had a pet ferret when I was a kid. It was a feral ferret that got into our garage and we just made a home for him there. Named him Merlin. Funnily enough we "adopted" him even after he bit me. Talk about a core memory, lol. We heard something out in the garage and we all went out to look, realized it was a ferret, and I stood there, like 9 years old, making kissy noises at him trying to get him to come out from where he was hiding. Eventually he streaks out and jumps up and bites my inner thigh. I think we had him for 2 years before he died from some common problem in ferrets or something. Man, that was almost 40 years ago.
Such a nice childhood memory, isn't it?
I also got here from Tom Scott's newsletter
That may have been a polecat (the wild species of mustelid ferrets orginated from). Stray ferrets are very rare because they can only survive for about two weeks alone in the wild.
I love how he's able to just swing this fluffy noodle around and it's not even phased
Fluffy noodle! Lmao never heard that one before, I’m going to use that from now on. Much better than carpet shark!
@@ferretyluvHaHah, carpet shark!
Love it, but fluffy noodle is good too.
Not to be confused with danger noodles though!
I'd call that animal abuse.
@@Mrblackhawk709 As a former ferret owner, no it’s really not. The ferret enjoys the attention. If a ferret is hurt, it screams. He’d also be biting the guy (to be fair though, ferrets also bite to play). This ferret is perfectly content.
I am amazed that there are harnesses that can stick to these creatures...
My thought as well. My ferrets would wiggle out of every harness I tried!
@@kath5201Same, it would stay on for a while but you couldn't let them pull on it too hard or they would be out.
On another note, one of mine was too scared to go down tubes and would have been awful at this job.
I make ferret harnesses out of two loops of Velcro and keychain rings. I also have a tracking device called a Tile attached to the harness. With this, I can use my phone to locate my ferret. Only about 25$US and well worth the peace of mind. Currently I am teaching my ferret to dig for truffles, as I live in N.W. Oregon, where they are abundant.
When I think of ferrets installing cable, I just imagine a ferret wearing a little baseball cap and tiny overalls saying "Get'er dooone!"
This is the comment I was hoping for.
You would have to name such a ferret Skeeter I reckon.
And later after work, you see him chillin on the curb with his homies with a little cooler full of beer. And he takes a swig of his beer and says, "Eeyep."
best part about ferrets. when they're asleep they're dead to the world and nothing will wake them. they just completely ragdoll.
Only when they trust the area they are in to be safe. and that they have a save group with them.
When the man started swinging the ferret side to side I died
I was a ferret owner from 1986 to 2018. Best pets ever.
"Best"?
Did you ever have a bobcat (with enough room outdoors for it)? Nothing compares to that
@@Blackout00745 😑
@@theothertonydutch Blackout must be the funnest person at parties.
What happened in 2019?
@@zpm-sg1 That cute ferret might be death. They can only live for 5 to 10 years.
I heard an anecdote about a team of electricians with a dachshund (i guess this is the English name for it, a sausage-like dog basically) who where very effective at running cables in ceilings in office buildings. One guy would let the dog in through a removed ceiling tile and the guy on the other end would point a flashlight at the dog to show it the destination. Sometimes a tile would not support the weight of the dog and it would fall through, but it was alright as it there was a wire holding it, and the the dog was quite used to it.
Jfc lol
What a bunch of a$$h0l3s.
Nice to see they are still used for running cables. Good video.
I’m fairly confidant they are not used today. At least not for buildings of any kind or national grid transmission. I’d imagine repeated, specialized applications have specifically made tools/robots for them.
Used... To "use" a living organism for your special interest.... That's quite demonic. How is it "nice" to see they are still USED? I'd like to use a human to.... Sounds insanely fucked up. It's horrible to see people being happy to see the usage of animals.
I'm really glad he has the proper installations for these animals. They are incredibly intelligent and sensitive, and throw tantrums when raised by people if they don't get enough attention and love (one used to hide the owners things, toothbrush included and not allow cuddles if he was ignored after she got home from work lol) so I was shocked at first because I saw the tiny chicken cages but there is a wider area with fresh air where they explore and have a nice time so that's really nice! We'll done him!
Hiding things is a ferret’s job. Doing it to be vindictive is hilarious. Mine got tons and tons of cuddles all the time.
@@ferretyluv they are hilarious indeed, but never had ferrets of my own (yet!)
I have two ferrets. Hiding things is just what they do, it's not a tantrum thing. When they're comfortable in an enviroment they'll allocate a spot where they want to hide everything. Mine like to hide all of their toys and food under my bed. I buy them tons of toys and instead of playing with them they just hoard them under the bed and never touch them again.
Strange creautures.
Bro 2:26 ol boy slinging him around like a sock like he’s a flipping some pizza doe.
IKR LMAO
It gave me anxiety 😱
@@ashleighpatnode6255 "Pizza doe" gave me anxiety. You shouldn't use does, use bucks if you want venison.
"Pizza dough" is what I think he meant.
Doe, a deer; a female deer
Really flexible.
Yup, that is a legit job. Neat, I thought they actually ran the cables, but this makes sense, they are actually used to run the lead pull through wire, that is used to pull everything else through.
Yes exactly haha I have ferrets and I’m an electrician I can see how good they would be for pipe that’s atleast 4 inches they can pull the “lead” through or jet line
@@joshualowe79 Is there any application where you’d actually prefer to use a ferret tho?
@John Smith yes for tedious underground cable runs way better than having to dig up the dam coduits and running the cable through each section I could just use the ferrets to snake the lead through and run the cables in with ease :D
@@furrycircuitry2378 I’d imagine a fiber glass cable snake being a lot more reliable and low maintenance. Unless there are a million bends in which underground conduits don’t normally have.
I love these spaghetti cats. 😂😂😂
All hail the Noodle Cats!
I love that he just folded the ferret like a shirt and he was just cool with it
I've met James a few times at game fairs over the years and he is a lovely friendly man.
Ferrets are very intelligent animals, I had 2 gills that escaped from their pen into open fields, 1 week later both girls returned and were very excited to see each other, both eventually died of old age
Boeing uses these guys to wire up their planes. Ferrets are really quite smart and easy to train.
seriously?
@@PicoNeo3 No, it is not true. Eric Taylor is entirely, utterly full of $hît.
@@PicoNeo3 no
@@MsPysoul ok, I was extremely confused for a bit, thx.
@@PicoNeo3 Yes, they used to do this. They use robots now.
the guy swinging it in the beginning
Ferrets ran the cables for Princess Di's wedding!
So cute. They are just so sweet
I grew up with ferrets; they're a handful sometimes but never fail to make you smile. They're like cute fuzzy slinkies and super smart!
It bends to the left, to the right, rests its head on the bum, no problem. That’s a good ferret right there
they are amazing thanks for caring for so many of them
Dude swingin that farret around and letting their lower ends hang like that can hurt their back.
Wow music to my ears
Lovely looking ferrets
Yes fluffy little electricians ❤ love it 🥰
They are rubbish at second fix tho😂
I want one so bad
Do your homework first! And have a bit put away. Vet bills are expen$ive!!!!
Cat with lot of attitude ? on top of what they already have ? sound terrifying 😄
Found out only a year or two ago that a local hardware store uses ferrets to catch mice. Never woulda guessed.
Imagine working as a cable guy and you pull out a ferret and call it plan F
I don't think i've ever seen someone swing a ferret around like that before, but i'm glad to have experienced it now
I love the little sound they make :D :3
2:24 BROOOO 💀💀💀
Like adorable fuzzy snakes these guys are just so flexible.
Snake-cats
Man swings ferret back and forth, snaps vertebrae. "As you can see she's now very relaxed..."
yo
Shopvac and a plastic bag attached twine always did the job fine for me.
The noise they make is so cute.
First 5 seconds of this video all I could hear was the ferret saying, "Whoa, whoa, woah woo whaa"
the algorithm says we watch ferrets today
Aah humans, always getting an animal to do a job for them 🤣 fair trade tho, we give snacks lol 🍿
It’s like he’s just at the point being swung around like “yep yep I’m a noodle mhm anyway can we get to work now”
My neighbour keeps ferrets, and they're lovely! "Like having an eternal kitten", he said
2:24 this looks hilarious.
When a ferret gets upset, just let them have their little temper tantrum, because it's adorable.
The way he just shakes the ferret
What a coincidence, my plumber happens to be a ferret. World-class clog buster. But really, he just holds a leash with a human and a plunger on the other end.
love them i got two jills very smart creatures
i have 2 of my own!
i want one so bad
You're here for 2:22
It will be sad if they lose their jobs. I hope they can adopt to remote work. 🙏
I live in North America. Listening to this I realised that I have never heard anyone say "ferret around".
A couple of trained ferrets would've saved me a bundle in dry wall that I was forced to remove to rewire the house.
Little dudes like i accept my fate, im fed everyday and have friends, they can mush me and swing me around like a toy.
I tried to swing my ferret like that, but each time I don't remember what happens next.
come snuggle with daddy
NO! things to DO dad
Haha that ferret , Just swings around like a noodle.
Carpetnoodles suddenly showed up in my feed. I'm not mad.
Ferrets: *exist*
Humans: we can use these to lay cables
My husband has a comic hatred of ferrets 😂 it’s not like he wants to see anything bad happen to them but he calls them tiny psychopaths that just want to murder and kill everything in its path and then spray it with smelly pee
SWING SWING SWING
Hahahaha so adorable
"A cat with alot of attitude" I mean dont cat have enough attitude themself? lol
Soooo cute
top 10 slept on animal
So cute 🥰
2:15 wow we hade sponge tided to a rope and suck it with a masking to get the rope past ower 45m. i hade ferrets if i know i can do that then i can save the company the power cost on that maskin XD not like i wanta reson to take my snuggle buddy to work anything but something to think about in the future. thx for the tip!
One thing this guy didn't mention - ferrets have razor sharp teeth. I got bitten by a ferret when I was a kid and I haven't trusted one since.
Where’s the hard hat and reflective vest for the ferret? Does it receive on site orientation? These are important questions. What about coffee and lunch breaks?
No wonder entire wiring in world war 2 Submarines used to be done with the help of Ferrets.
I done work experience with a cable guy he was a bit of a weasel !
Watched with my ferret :]
cable laying ferrets... that is interesting.
I want one
Is that a job??
Wait, so you're telling me I can use them as neck pillows?
I have got two Polecats!
wow so unreal
The owner looks like a ferret, has the pink lip and nose in thumbnail haha, prob just me
Why is Dijkstra training ferrets?
Where they live isn’t the best for a ferret their enclosure is very small and drinking bottles are for rodents and they can damage their teeth.
Is it just me or the ferrets sound like chickens:)
Shouldn't be stuck in a pen, boo to you!
0:09 Lol
The first pet that likes someone choke their neck.
2:24 so cute.
I got 3 rats and when I do that kissing sound all of em will run at me like ,,Mothafucka gimme food and tea with suga' !" :D
Is that murr?
It isn't screaming so no
lol thats funny
wait... all that and you threaded a wire inside a foot diameter pipe? Like you could tie the cable to a small rock and throw it through. Fail !
Please tell me they live a full life and are not killed for fur when are getting older
people are always asking why he has ferrets tied to his cieling fans, 'theyre relaxing'
🙄
I have a ferret
FĒRATÉ ASCENDÊRÉ
You can use bots to do this as well
How is this real 😂
Cute skinny rats
I thought "cable guy" was somehow a physical descriptor and not literally their job!
I’m having a tough time figuring out if this is for real, or this is some sort of April fools day upload.
It's real. Genuinely
