Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY , we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. It was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

As someone who also travelled the world in my 20s, and speaking as someone who will be turning 40 this year, I can safely say that my 30s were even better than my 20s, and I cannot wait to see what the next decade brings! From a fellow Tennessean... Happy Birthday, Kara!

How do you even travel like that if you don’t come from money, it seems like a struggle to even pay bills, I went back to school because I’m tired of living like that but I just don’t see how it’s possible coming from poverty
When Kara says "we're done with work now its time to have fun" .. That changed my whole outlook. Some of us forget that this a job to them as much as it is fun. As someone who is trying to start a travel vlog, This sentence changes everything for me.
The best is still ahead of you.
When I turned 30, I had just moved to Chicago with like $100 in my pocket for a sketchy job that I wasn't even sure I was going to like. But I did it and stuck with it to get outta my comfort zone. I have no regrets. Life is a journey you only get to live once.
I'm not sure about that once. Nobody's ever sent word back. Could be if we knew what was next we wouldn't hold onto this life so hard. Only going there will show you what it is.l

A castle in Texas...

Texas is the last place you'd expect to see a castle. But hey, go big or go home, right? The moment you enter the castle, it feels like you've entered a time machine. Kara deserves that castle to be her permanent home! She's the perfect royal. ¡Feliz cumpleaños Kara!

Actually, you would expect a BIGGER castle in Texas! Seriously, they do large houses (and castles to an extent) like they're going out of fashion! There's "barndominiums" (metal and pole buildings with living quarters) that exceed 50,000sqft\4980sqm! And the average in the barndominium class is around 10,000sqft\998sqm give or take some. And the average suburban house in Texas is between 3,000sqft\298sqm and 5800sqft\578sqm. What most of the USA considers a mansion, Texans consider a cozy cottage!

Nate's Colorado Trail biking series would be worthy of Netflix but I'm afraid they'd edit something out. It's 3+ hours long and I've watched it twice. Netflix doesn't normally hook me like that.
I assume there is alot more freedom doing it your self than handing it over to Netflix. Alot more work, true, but they still own their own content.

I cant get over the fact that while you can see kinship in the physical aspect, Kara's sister voice is so close to the one of Kara, she could dub her.
As someone who is in the final months of their 30s, I think it was the best decade but also the most bittersweet. Everything you got away with in your 20s doesn't fly in your 30s, but that's okay & you'll realize how much more meaningful your 30s are. 😊

When I was a kid in the late 90s I was driving through the hill country with my parents and we saw a massive white box far in the distance on a hill top. We decided to drive toward it to find out what this strange structure was and we were so confused and delighted when we got close enough to see that it was a castle! Now all these years later seeing it completed and the interior of it is delightful. I’d love to see it in person again. I’d forgotten about that fun memory until I saw this video.

Covid halted our travels, but we are looking forward to traveling again soon. Once traveling is in your blood it's there for good. Happy travels!!

There are quite a few in Canada, plus all the historic “castle” hotels.
Five of them in Kentucky. The one in Versailles is quite impressive.

I'm not gonna lie... I cried my eyes out when I turned 30. I was reflective of where I had been, and thinking I wasn't where I thought I'd be by by the age of 30. But you know what? The 30's turned out to be the best time of my life. I felt that people really started to take me seriously, I felt more mature, and I finally let go of the heavy insecurities of my youth. I realized that you should never put labels or time restraints on your goals, and that it's not so much the destination as it is the journey. I also met some of the greatest people who are now so incredibly important in my life. My 30's has been an incredible gift, and life keeps getting better and better. ❤️

I found your You Tube Channel several months ago and began binge watching and sharing with everyone I knew. Imagine my surprise when I saw this video. I live in the Hill Country in Texas and have been going to the lakes you can see from the balcony practically all of my life. This castle I have driven past ...back and forth trying to see as much as possible on the farm market road....for years. I did research looking for information and pictures of the inside, but all was very limited until NOW!!! OMG thank you so much for this. And what a birthday surprise.
