I Love my Reclaimer, she has such a nice feel to her, you feel her Weight of 9 700 000 kg when you fly in Atmosphere you feel her Heavy duty purpose when you walk inside her while your crew salvages and you hear those sounds whailing across her corridors. she has her quirks, weaknesses and a lot of waisted interieur space so she needs her Rework but even without it with all her many years old mechanisms CiG delivered one hell of a Ship. and my manned Turret gunner always says if you fired her Size 5 Turret you never wanna leave it, never had a chance to test his statement, he never let´s me use that turret :D
@@joshuadadad5414 right on Point i Hope If they ever give her a Love showing rework that they keep that Charakter in Check so that she does Not loose identity
My only problem is, all that space and no hangar or garage? The reclaimer could potentially be your main and only ship if only you could store a smaller ship, snub or ground vehicle to run other types of missions while grounded. If I want to mix things up I need to flight over to the nearest station or mining facility, swap ships only to repeat the process again on my way back. Feels like a missed opportunity to offer an alternative to the Carrack or Hercules.
The Reclaimer and Vulture are probably my most flown ships to date. Two guesses what type of gameplay I normally run, lol. I've soloed the Reclaimer quite a bit and I love it, but hate it when I try to land anywhere. I really hope they eventually let you upgrade thrusters and engines eventually or try to make this less of a pain to land at least. Also I find it funny, I've maybe played with a total of 30 different people on this ship, and the number one job people want to do on this ship (at least the ones I've played with) is move the boxes, lol, scraping is number two and absolutely no one wants to fly it, not even me lol. Which basically means I'm the one stuck flying it every time. It is SOOO much fun with a full crew and when you salvage something big. I can't wait to actually try salvaging capital ships with it, with a full crew. Honestly the one gameplay loop I hope gets fixed/worked on soon is being able to transfer cargo to a friendly cargo ship for them to go sell the salvage for you. So far, every time I've tried that the salvage is considered stolen, which is annoying. Even when we transfer it back, it still counts as stolen.
as a huge fan of Alien, Aliens and most of the franchise, the Nostromo vibes are strong with this ship... just wish we had Xenomorphs to shoot... yeah the salvage claw, being tier 0 of structural salvage will definitely change once Maelstrom comes online, and structural damage is more of a thing with that 🙂 but with a crazy crew, you can do bounties with it... those capital shields really do take a beating thee upgrades while early stage tier 0, i would say are not as bad tbf, i really enjoy the fact that you can draw out 16SCU cargo boxes now... thanks for a very on point and helpful review, definitely got a knack for the detail too, and i look forward to more of these too 🙂
the Reclaimer is for me, what the 890 is for others. Its my most favorite ship in the game and, by the way, you can fill it up with up to 1400 scu. You just have to be creative with the containers.
I think it's the best looking ship in the game and gives the most realistic space ship vibe... It just needs to be reworked to make use of the unused space for cargo, vehicles, and small ships so it's use is not just limitted to salvage...
I mean... it IS a salvage ship. They just need to open up the back portion of the ship a bit more and make the salvage and cargo deck 1 deck for 1 big room to store your cargo in.

I watched videos on this for a couple of weeks now. I'm still very much a newb, though in my one month as a citizen, I've logged an embarrassingly crazy amount of hours. Since this video far beats the others I've watched in completion (covering everything), it's here I'm dropping my comments, haha. I hope this doesn't become a must have other human crew members ship once the engineering phase kicks in, and they then have NPC crews. Not that I'm not social, but face the facts, people are going to have their own ships they want you to come to. I have a dozen or so real life friends already into SC and I can barely draft one of them on occasion. You want to game when you want to game and waiting for anyone, other than an NPC, will make lots of people melt these beasts. I hate one thing about this ship, and share your take on the salvage deck btw, but for me it's the outside lift. It's too small!!! I'll take a few Hercules missions, go to each in Taurus to get the Quantanium and Gold and then I may take out my vulture to scrape one, and then putting the crates into the Herc's hold, and once again pick it up with my Taurus (did this twice, takes far too long to ever do it again, but it was fun). I can snap a Herc with the vulture, but I can blow it up to where some parts are then available to turn into mulch. Now off topic, I have a full rig setup and, haha, am just now seeing I'm logged into my music account... but I hope some day they'll put lots of effort into multi monitor support. NOT nvidia surround, but like how MSFS or DCS have it. DCS with the F18 Winwing MIP makes a Star Citizen crave such a thing in their pit. Having 6 screens running in DCS and each MCP on it's own screen makes it hard to stay solely in SC. I'm only a one month citizen thus far, but just bought this and am hoping to buy the Arrastra next week, if of course it's still available to buy (that is the only thing I thing is beyond stupid that RSI does in how they sell ships), Anywho, breaks over. Great video. Complete is far better than how long it is btw. It's also only the second video I saw that even shows some of the decks. To possibly answer the purpose of the salvage deck, a couple videos showed people saying it was for where you put things you strip from ships, but that could have just been one persons choice also. I rather have the floor removed and be allowed to stack 7 high from the cargo hold!!!
Relatively inexperienced returning backer to the game, been having a lot of fun with a friend playing the game steadily over the last couple of weeks and decided to invest into a reclaimer after having some success with a vulture. Have there been any changes with this ship since this video was posted? How do people reliably find others that are willing to join them and operating parts of the ship without causing grief? I am assuming when you fill your cargo hold and you sell everyone gets a fair share but I feel like it's just such a risk 😅
Might buy a Rec as a daily driver, dont do grind so it will just be an indulgence, although wonder if they have replaced the downgraded animations and Space Suits in the escape pod area?. Well, the answer to the Spacesuits query is a NO, and also to the downgraded animations, so i'll pass on this bodge up.

Alrighty, you might rember me from earlier tonight. I do like your reviews. You speak well, have a great voice, you have a good script, and have good info in general. You DEFINATELY need to make it ckear you are reviewing STOCK component loadouts only. At least in the "intro" section, but i would reiterate it in the sections where you mention Components and Hardpoints specifically. The commentary comes off as matter of fact about the ship in general, not as if you are specifically speaking of the stock experience. And as much as i want to agree with yohr opinion that "components and hardpoints are a matter of taste" (paraphrased from our back and forth in ypur Scorpius review), the fact of the matter is, in game, currently, that is not true. There is an objective best in class option for each component definately, and most would argue its the same for weapons. Sometimes a preference over sustained dps vs burst dps or a comparison between alpha damages and ranges can ellicit a change in opinions for weapons, but even then it is currently cemented what objective best in class loadouts there are for each hardpoint of every ship.
