There are legit factory sealed N64 games that have 3 consecutive sides with a seam, especially later and cheaper releases. Factory vent holes are another sign of authenticity. Be careful, they can be faked as well. Also look for old KB and Target stickers on N64 games. A lot of the sealed games out there came from those stores.
What I sometimes do to check if collectors edition is not fake is I try to find its weight. If this info is not available online, you could ask somebody say on eBay to weigh stuff for you (even if it costs you a fiver or so). Most people will help.
To answer @joshua Campbell and @christocream , I got this game from a really nice guy. he didn't know what he had gotten but he had another. If I can get ahold of it then heck yeah!
this is rlly informative and nice video. entertaining too. one day I want to buy me a sealed conkers bad fur day safest seem to be vga. but gtta look hard on ebay to see if fake or real. oh and you got a new sub :D
@@RetroVerseGames ye conker is like one of my fav games from n64 tho I was still too young when playing it I knew I was told not allowed but got some few in sneakily. And turning of tv quickly tho ofc they would still see cartridge xD But ye good to learnt theres a seal going over in middle and ventholes i had no idea. Even newer games I see hmm sealed but why no tearstrip. Some ds games they have tearstrip but then I see another same game no tearstrip. So confusing. And then I learnt how it is with older games
@@DarkSharkBark Some companies use the strip and some don't. Strip = Probably real. No strip = check the rest for issues. The best advice is still to check for dirt under the wrap with any generation of games. If there's a scratch on the box it should be on the wrap too or it's been resealed!
I have a sealed N64 Zelda Ocarina Collector's edition with 3 consecutive sides with seam but no seam in the back. Now I didn't buy this off eBay or received this from another person. I personally bought this from a retail(not sure if its BestBuy(most likely) or EB) store that came with a shirt. confused....
just sold a "SEALED" Buck Bumble on N64 to someone on ebay for $136. Got a message back saying there was no cartridge in it OMG! Anyway after a moment of shock sent a full refund and now I'm preying for no negative feedback lol. Anyway I only paid $20 for it at a swap meet, guess you get what you pay for these days :/
I bet you money I can make that vertical seal with an impulse sealer. You might think it’s a reseal cause I use better shrink wrap than Nintendo dose. I use industrial wrap. And marking that seal vertical seal is easy . Hardest thing is trying to get things evenly sealed straight down the middle. As long as I see a true factory seal game I can replicate.
This is why I avoid sealed games there’s waaay too many scammers out there cashing in and they know we won’t notice bcuz we won’t open it up and find out
thanks for this vid. I just bought a rare n64 sealed game on ebay for ... 700 canadian $ !.... and upon receiving it, it has a sort of vertical seam but overall it looks poor condition and i dont know, it doesnt seems genuine.... i guess i should ask a refund because i'm in no way trusting it.
If you do, don't wait a moment longer to start your new life in Jesus Christ. Remember, this prayer is not a magical formula. You are simply expressing your heart to God. Pray this with us: "Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen." Prayer of Salvation - I've Prayed It; Now What? If you've prayed this prayer of salvation with true conviction and heart, you are now a follower of Jesus. This is a fact, whether or not you feel any different. Religious systems may have led you to believe that you should feel something - a warm glow, a tingle, or some other mystical experience. The fact is, you may, or you may not. If you have prayed the prayer of salvation and meant it, you are now a follower of Jesus. The Bible tells us that your eternal salvation is secure! "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Welcome to the family of God! Honestly, I'm surprised the correct game was in the box.
Amazing video. Jaw dropped with the cardboard

I was expecting a copy of NBA courtside with Kobe Bryant after you pulled out the cardboard.
An awesome tip to show and tell the difference between a real factory sealed and a re-sealed N64 games (items in general).
Make a video comparing the real and fake sealed games
There are a lot of ebay listings described as sealed that are obviously reseals.
The seal you're talking about...Is it always on the back? Because I don't have that on the back of mine, but definitely in the side of it..

Not all sealed N64 games have the seam in the back, but most do.
Did you check to see if the game was legit at this point? Can just be a reproduction cart with this guy. Great video
The loose game is cheap. It would be easier to just get the real thing.
this is nuts. I'm glad I don't collect retro games like I used to. Otherwise, great video but still unfortunate you spent some for that.
It would be cool if you just use the zoom.
Damn, those shit "sealed" games are flooding internet

Or they lied, and got the money back, and got the full boxed game for free.
Really it all comes down to the plastic seal, and that seems to be the most difficult part. Of course, when you open it, it becomes rather obvious.
There are fakes out there with perfect y folds.

You can do jack shit, Matt. If that were true you can be rich selling used games as sealed and nobody would be able to tell.

I am so sorry...
The seal should be on the top and bottom sides of the box not the left and right.
Great video man thank you!
