    Be VERY careful with folding props... The DAL/Gemfans both have issues - I bought some of the DAL 7's for my LR quad but unfortunately I had really bad vibe problems with them due to the folding mechanism being too tight and not entirely unfolding during use & the 6" ones weren't much better... The pitch / blade profile is also a tad small/weak too IMO. The GEMFAN props are the dangerous ones - The pivot point is only an M3 plastic pin and is NOT strong enough for 5/6" props resulting in plastic fatigue followed by spitting blades (My lost drone up on a mountain can attest to that, thanks GEMFAN). The GEMFAN props actually do fly very smooth/balanced/punchy and fold up nicer/further than the DAL's though (which dent the blade base on the mounting hub every time you arm/disarm the motors).
    I wish someone (HQ) would actually engineer a good set of 5/6/7" bi/tri folding props as I hate lugging around big packs spare of 6/7" triblades... All GEMFAN has to do is change the folding mechanism to a metal retaining pin fitting into a brass bushing on the injection moulded blade and they'd be perfect! Plus when you damage a folding prop you can replace just the blades that are damaged!

      I bought the dalprop, and coincidentally a new version just came out, V3, has a metal CNC base which convinced me more than the plastic one, even if the price is 19$ a set, but of course once you buy the hub i believe you can still use the old V2 props or at least buy spares...
      I got V2 and V3 so i can review them, hope V3 has a better blade profile!

      @Imakilln Рік тому

      @@Rimzler Oooh I hadn't seen the V3's - That CNC hub is a big improvement! I might grab a set to try as well! Hopefully GEMFAN release a metal hub version as well!

      I use the Dal Prop folding props on my AOS 7 Mantis. Very happy with them. I have used Gemfan folding props on a 4 inch Flywoo and they would break off mid air. Stopped using them. It could have been the way I assembled them that caused the problem

    Hi, can you tell me what is the weight of the only frame without tpu?

  • @olivierviguier9749
    @olivierviguier9749 Рік тому +2

    Hello, could you give me the total weight of this drone with 6s Li ion battery with out gopro? Is it under 800g ? it could be could regarding registration law. Have you plan to test it with the dji air unit O3. I am little worried as I see properler in some view. thanks for your feedback.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  Рік тому +1

      Drone is around 615g with O3, i used small 1300 6s and they already more than 200g, so you will be above 800
      Also i fear you will see props from camera

    Great video. Do you have any drone recommendations for a total beginner ? I would like one with no soldering required.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  Рік тому +1

      You have 2 choices
      Getting the avata will give you a good start in fpv and super simple with no soldering involved, once you are ready goggles and radio will be compatible with o3 unit in modern RTF (prebuilt) fpv drones
      Or you can just get a RTF from the start, i suggest one with propguards like a whoop, they are usually easy to service and minimal soldering can be required if their break, you can learn a lot

    • @adambrezny
      @adambrezny Рік тому +1

      @@Rimzler I would get the avata, but it's sold with the motion controller and I hate the idea of that. If I want to fly FPV I want to learn how to control it with a regular controller. I was thinking of a prebuilt 5 inch with some fat sharks and a radiamaster controller.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  Рік тому +1

      Yeah DJI always sells kits people don't want so you are forced to get the radio as an extra purchase
      But if you get the Avata, goggles 2 and buy the regular rc you will be able to learn how to fly fpv with a classic experience, and both radio and goggles will pair with Rtf drones out there, included 5 inch
      Also imho the avata is good and easy to learn with, plus you have the insurance so if you break it they repair it!
      Plus it holds value if you get bored and want to sell it

    • @adambrezny
      @adambrezny Рік тому

      @@Rimzler Yeah, I will probably do that. Also If I could get the DJI FPV for the same price as the avata which would I buy ?

    Do you use the same rates on all your drones? I have a 5” freestyle and just ordered the Oddity RC I35(I used your discount code…thank you). Should I use the same rates on all my drones or should I adjust them for the specific drone?

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  9 днів тому +1

      I don't put too much attention to it, just add expo often, and adapt drone to drone!

    is there any foldable sub 250g drones, or wich is the smallest drones you can fold that is not a dji?

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  Рік тому

      There are a bunch of foldable 4 inch frames that fold on AliExpress, like the explorer V2 (i have reviewed the V1) but i believe it's not made to fold and unfold on the go as you have to tighten the screws each time

    Hey Rimzler, loving your videos. I just purchased the Kolas7. Did you manage to PID tune it to get rid of the vibrations?

    • @formofrocket04
      @formofrocket04 Рік тому

      Hey @chillindrone were you able to get rid of the vibration? There are some comments on the Bardwell review that describe some possible fixes. Wondering if you got it sorted as I’m thinking about buying this drone but worried about that vibration…

    • @chillindrone_
      @chillindrone_ Рік тому +1

      @@formofrocket04 yes, for the most part it's fixed. I have some micro-vibrations now and then but it's pretty decent now. I installed Betaflight 4.4 with UAVTech 7 inch preset. Using three bladed props gets you the smoother flight too. My main concern with this build is that it's very battery hungry. I can't get more than 7 minutes cruising with a 1400mah LIPO and around 13 with a 3000mah LIPO.

    • @chillindrone_
      @chillindrone_ Рік тому +1

      @@formofrocket04 my thoughts exactly. It’s more efficient than my 5 inch, but not as efficient as other 7 inches. It’s a eeally heavy build so maybe that explains it
