Natural law and truth. These are constitutional (as in they constitute the basis of law and wisdom) principles upon which build everything else. Ours, in the USA, are the common law and the us constitution. The common law was built upon experience and Judeo Christian expression. Since the early 1900s the progressive movement has tried to move this away from these towards what is just is what the government and judiciary say are just. This is determined through representative democracy. Big tension that is coming to a head in our political climate.
