I just got some chicken nuggets and then opened up UA-cam to find that (5 minutes ago) Aaron “Cybertron” Zheng is back with another episode of road to ranked where he climbs the online regulation H vgc ladder and provides live commentary as he goes! LIFE IS GOOD
QOTD: Probably an Arbok Evolution, a bulky intimidate poison with glare sounds really nice to have, can give it a secondary type like dark or dragon for even more defensive utility
Bruhh i was just about to comment arbok, cuz he is at a low enough BST (448) to warrant an evo and is only a 2 stage line at the moment, was thinking make final evo posion dark tho, would be nice to leave it with only the ground weakness like muk but with intimidate
QOTD: ledian, one of my faves is long overdue for an evo. stats: 65/80/55/85/115/120 and it has an ability that boosts its offensive stats and speed each turn in a nighttime weather effect.
14:04 that Sneasler in a Love Ball made me go down a mini rabbit hole that ended in me learning that in Gen 8, they made it to where two Pokémon of the same species when breeding now have a 50/50 chance of passing their ball down. And also that Johto Sneasel can breed with Hisuian Sneasel.
QOTD: I would give Castform an evolution. Raise it's base stat from from 420 to 500. I would distribute it by lowering its Attack from 70 to 50 and lowering it's Sp. Def and Def from 70 to 60, and giving it a Sp. Atk and Speed stat of 130. Upgrading it's ability so it also gets a +1 speed and Sp. Atk boost whenever whether is active. Finally give it Eruption and Water Spout. Finally, A decent Castform.
I love it. I name it Clysmform or Geddonform after a cataclysm or armageddon. It would probably be a legendary though with that ability 😅 I picture a Cherrim + Eject Pack Torkoal going hard with that. Although I also picture it ending up like Archaludon; strong enough to splash on to non-weather teams to deal with or deter opposing weather.
@alejandro9581 theres a cost with ultra beasts, that being a K.O. With the ability you're proposing, you could leave Castforms stats as they are and it would probably be damn powerful in weather teams
My idea for a Pokemon evolution would be for Seviper. Seviper evolution would be to give it base stats of 85 HP/125 Atk/80 Def/100 Sp.Atk/80 Sp.Def/95 Spe and a new ability called Weakening Gaze that works like Intimidate but for Sp.Atk. It would be very strong especially with it's ability but it's stats would be fairly reasonable with a BST of 565. It would function as an anti-Fairy check. I was considering giving it secondary Dark typing but that would make it neutral to Fairy so I decided against it.

I think it's entertaining to see your expression when great successes or failures occur. 😅 QOTD: I think Xatu should evolve again. Maybe into a taller totem? Xanatu, a play on Xanadu? Plus, imagine Eviolite Xatu in lower-tier singles. 👁
I was playing around with that combo too. Also worth trying Smeargle for lower damages on your Primeape and possibly Surging Strikes for a boost rage fist.
I wonder if weakness policy water compaction Palosand with water shuriken smeargle can do enough. Calm mind shore up giga drain earth power might be scary.
@@daringiconoclast6547 Oooo I like that idea. It would work well with the Smeargle build already. I tried to make weakness policy Palosand work at the beginning of S&V but regulation H really allows so many fun combinations.
QotD: Archdisc, Luvdisc’s forgotten evolution. Taking inspiration from the archerfish and cupid, this longer bodied heart also has what looks like small, white feathered wings. Typing: Water/Fairy Unique hidden ability: Cupid’s Aim - increases the accuracy of kiss/love/heart based moves and makes infatuation a 2/3 roll rather than 50%. Alternates: Infiltrator/Swift Swim Stat increases: mild bulk increase, maybe base 90 SpAtk, ridiculous speed. Built like Crobat. Signature Move: Heart Pangs - 80 base power fairy move which doubles against infatuated foes, curing infatuation.
Team is very hard to use. I tried to use it two years ago with one of the Paldea Tauroses with anger point and also with Krookodile it’s a hit and miss .
Feel like it's worth noting that tera Stellar on the archaludon will only give Flash Cannon the 2x bonus. Per bulbapedia, "2× for the Pokémon's original types and 1.2× for every other type". So aura/electro are only getting a 20% one time boost from it. (and just to be exactly clear, as we all know, that 2x boost overwrites the 1.5x stab boost)
You played game 2 so well! I play a long with you and think what I would do next and was stumped when torkoal hit the field after you'd terra'd primeape but your understanding of how to use the team made it look so easy to navigate
Looks like a very fun team! I experimented with Anger Point Endure Salac Berry Aqua Breed Tauros paired with Covert Cloak Flower Trick Meowscarada with Costar Flamigo in the back as a core and it was a lot of fun to use as well!
I ran into this but didn't go well for my opponent. You can you frolass or other ice type that looks like a ice flake it has a move that's always critical hit and takes less damage on primape and has levitate for an immediate earthquake
QOTD: a Honchkrow evolution that is honchkrows boss, so the bosses boss. Gameplay wise, I think it could have supreme overlord and effectively be a flying/dark type kingambit.
45:21 "The question is if Rage Fist KOs, I only have two stacks, but it's +6 so I feel it really should KO." +6 4 Atk Primeape Rage Fist (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gholdengo: 352-416 (181.4 - 214.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO Almost twice over, if fully defensive.
QOTD: Marowak Evolution. Bonebarian. Ground/fighting. Ability is Enraged regen. It heals with a sitrus berry type effect if it took dmg that reduced it below 35% on the previous turn. Hidden ability: sheer force. It has sig move; Break bone: 110 power ground move 85 acc 10PP, breaks screens, and has a 40% chance to para. it gets stomping tantrum, iron head, EQ, all the punches, and gets focus energy, and swords dance
I've really been enjoying all these crazy teams lately. I know they're not very viable in Bo3 environments, but they're a ton of fun, and I still learn a lot hearing the thought process on how to best pilot them.
This team reminds me of a team I used in regulation A, where I used meowscarada with krookodile with anger point. The krookodile had a salac berry that got proced by the flower trick as well. It was a really fun team, love to see another anger point team!
Probably something like Tropius could use some evolution, even more if you think you could use Tropius with Eviolite. Also Druddigon could be like Duraludon and get an evolution too
QOTD: Alternate evolution for Trapinch. Rather than make it evolve into an adult antlion, keep it as a larva just bigger. Have it keep arena trap and become a Ground/Bug type when it evolves. With this combo it could trap Pokémon in and potentially force certain Pokemon to take Stab First Impression. I also think it’d be cool to have a new bug ground type since the only 2 we have now are Nincada and Sand Cloak Wormadam. Keeping Flygon 520 base stats I think ithis would be a solid stat distribution: 90 HP 135 Attack 124 Defense 60 Sp.Atk 80 Sp.Def 31 Speed I thought it was interesting how Trapinch is considered more useful than Flygon in VGC, which is what inspired the idea for this Pokemon.
yknow, when i first found out about annihilape, i was thinking about how tauros smeargle was finally back, now with bonus rage fist. aaaaaand then it didn’t have anger point LOL
as for the qotd, i genuinely had “annihilape” as one of the potential names for my fakemon evo of primeape just before SV came out, so i’m kinda out of luck. but gimme a sunflora evo and call it sunstantial
QOTD: I think a divergent evolution for Duosion would be a cool idea for a counterpart to Reuniclus, there's a lot more that could be done with the cellular theme!
QOTD: Flapple! It would become a larger apple wyvern, with a base stat increase of 55, just like Dipplin to Hydrapple. New stat spread would be 80/115/80/85/77/103. Similar to Dipplin, it would lose Gluttony as an ability after evolving and would gain Levitate. I would further mimic the Hydrapple line with a second signature move. It would be a Dragon-type Flying Press. A dragon type attack with 100 power and 95 accuracy that is offensively both Dragon and Flying.
QOTD: Hawlucha Evolution, stats: 92/118/78/64/70/128 . It comes with a new ability called "Luchador Strength" which gives a 1.5 attack boost to "slam moves" (basically any move that does double damage on a minimiazed Pokémon, which includes Flying Press) It would learn heat crash and heavy slam to make better use of the ability.
Qotd- alternate plusle and minun forms. Multi and Divi, their moves would interact by halving, quartering, 2x etc. divi creates a substitute for himself or teammate by dividing their hp. Multi could make a move hit twice
QOTD: an evolution for a regional form of Slowbro from any new region we may get that has beach like locations. Instead of being psychic water or poison it is psychic fighting and it becomes a new name instead of slowbro it is called throwbro and uses the shell pokemon as a surfboard. Its ability will be called slow miss, where if it misses the next turn it is given priority with the same move and it is boosted damage of at least 25%. It will be a physical attacking slowbro that is super weak in special attack but most of that stat is distributed to regular attack and hp and defenses.
I saw a version of this a while ago with surging strikes smeargle, absolutely hilarious when it works. +6 tera ghost rage fist with 3 stacks hits different.
54:36 Trend of Aaron covering for items he's already seen, the mark of a great player covering for everything they can (Knocked off the AV from TTar already)
I'd love to see stage 1 and stage 2 mons with mega evolutions get their mega evo as their next evolutions actually. But if I were to choose one pokemon, give me a Quagsire evolution that makes it bulkier(and slower) with an attack boost and maybe a unique ability that goes in hand with its quagmire theme. Maybe something like getting separate bonuses off rain and grassy terrain.
I would love if Heracross got evolutions. I always Bug Ground would be a good type for it, but Bug Flying also makes sense, but even if it's type stayed the same Bug Fighting, I'd still use it.
I would like an item that functions like the ability stalwart, even if it announces the item on switch like an air balloon, it would open up so many turn 1 strats while allowing follow me to not become useless.
Watching the team intro now. I love the meme and how well the team supports it. Just a little surprised why there is no speed control on this team? I’m a beginner so it would be cool to hear the thought process for skipping it.
I Just really want an Evolution for Ledian that makes him into a powerful Boxer. A powerful physical Punching Pokémon. IT needs good stats and maybe the fighting Type. A viable signature Punching move
I’m kinda wondering why you wouldn’t run tera fire on the ape instead of steel. Resists the fairy types you want it to, but gives it immunity to will-o-wisp. Obviously steel is the better defensive type overall but that patches up the talonflame weakness you mentioned.
I ran into this strategy a few weeks ago but with Frost Breath Froslass to trigger Anger Point. The Froslass being immune to fake out made things significantly more awkward. Long story short I got absolutely cooked. 😅
QOTD: My soul desires a Ghost type Eveelution. We havent had a new one since gen 6 and ghost is my favorite typing. Since all the evees have the same stat numbers just in different spots i would make it HP: 65 Attack: 110 Def: 95 SpAtk: 60 SpDef: 65 Speed: 130 I would also finally give ghost types a better physical attack than just poltergeist, shadowclaw, or phantom force. I havent thought of an ability i would want for it to have. I love prankster mons so maybe that or a brand new ability like they gave Sylveon.
Surging strikes smeargle feels like a better way to set this primape up. It crits, smeargle does less damage then meowscarada so you don't always need to drain punch, even if you dont tera. And the big bonus, the three hits super charges rage fist! Then, smeargle can follow me, spore, etc.
Smeargle is slower though, so it takes an extra turn for primeape to get value from the boosts. There's also a higher risk of smeargle getting k.o.d without having done anything.
@@zj9583 you just make sure the smeargle is faster than the primape... But, the lower speed and frailness are definitely trade-offs. With a sash and ghost tera you can usually pull it off, but like with either set, there's risks
It can definitely work! But it means you have to go all-in on the Primeape strategy. Meowscara is a solid offensive option into a lot of teams and can deal significant damage while also pressuring with its high speed stat, and it can be brought even if Primeape doesn't come into the game. Also, one of the best things about this Primeape is the speed investment - you outspeed so many common threats like max speed Archaludon, Gholdengo, and Annihilape. Making Smeargle attack first means you either have to run Choice Scarf or be at 138 speed with Primeape, which makes you slower than those threats I mentioned if they're speedy. Both can certainly work at the end of the day 😊
QOTD: I’d make a convergent evolution to Growlithe using a moon stone. It would evolve into a fire/fairy Arcanine, who instead of having intimidate, would have a new signature ability I’d call “Overawe” which drops an opponent’s special attack by one stage.
QOTD: Vespiquen is such a cool design and concept with not one not two but THREE unique moves, that it's a tragedy it has such garbage stats. Create a new item called Hive Queen's Crown that can be used to evolve it into a 500 BST form with a new Ability: Majesty-increases the power of Attack Order by 50%. Heal Order by 10% and Defend Order now gives +1 Speed as well. Oh also, relearns Heal Order on evolution, a move that should have never been removed from the game. Still folds to Rock Slide, but at least it can TRY to set up and sweep in front of other types now.
QotD: i would give Furret an evolution. make it normal/fairy instead of just normal, and give it stats to be a strong physical attacker that's fast but also still somewhat bulky as well. and maybe give it something like Speed Boost or Adaptability for its abilities just to make it even stronger
Hiya Cybertron! I'd like to see you experiment with Eviolite Bisharp. I am running him partnered with Amoongus but I need some help and I'd love a video of your take on a set up for it
I want the Gen 3 version exclusive pair of Mawile and Sableye to get an evolution. The only real love they have gotten is mega evolutions and there are so many games you can't use that in. I say this as someone who is not a fan of Sableye but Mawile is one of if not my favorite pokemon. Its only fair the duo gets evolutions at the same time. Actually thinking about it Hoenn in general has a fair amount of pokemon that could evolve (seviper, Zangoose, Tropious, Castform, Absol, ect.)
Why don't we Tera Fire for Primeape instead of Steel? We can avoid getting burned if Will-O-Wisp hits. +6 maxed Attack sounds scary but with burned; it is not too much damage output overall.
In game 3, obviously it went well and was won quickly, but is there any reason NOT to just protect both Pokemon turn 2, since Indeedee can’t set up Trick Room and then Snorlax would use up its Custap Berry? Then next turn self Flower Trick and Steel Tera Drain Punch? It would end up at basically the same result, minus the chip damage on Farigiraf and Intimidate on Snorlax, but without sacrificing Incineroar.
The chip damage on Farigiraf is actually crucial, Drain Punch at +6 is never a OHKO since we only have 4 Atk EVs and they have a lot of defense. With the play you mention, they'd be able to set up Trick Room if Farigiraf safely switched in without taking any damage. (We could Knock Off + Drain Punch Farig but it's a low chance to get the KO, plus they could Fighting Tera to get around that) +6 4 Atk Primeape Drain Punch vs. 244 HP / 108+ Def Farigiraf: 186-220 (82.3 - 97.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
@@CybertronVGC Thanks for taking the time to explain that! I'm definitely learning a lot from the high volume and high quality videos you've been pumping out. Cheers!
Why not go for tera fire ape? Am i missing something dangerous in the format? I just would think burn immune minimum. Works for his big bro right? Idk i could 100% be wrong.
That could work, but it makes Meowscarada a lot weaker overall - the damage you get from its attacks into your opponents is important too, and Primeape is often going to heal back all the self damage anyway via Drain Punch
wouldnt Fire or Grass tera be better for the primeape? Fire stops burns and grass stops spores and rage powder, i dont see why the steel tera over those

Do not need another poison/dark type. Poison dragon would be great
@@pettyjones maybe water as secondary type. Make them a sea snake?

I like this.
Scizor + Kleavor evolution that actually add stats (since that "evolution" work more like a form change since it maintain the 500 bst)
also the evolution will have 560 bst cuz I though it's reasonable
Scizor:
I would like a thing like the mega, just a better scizor, but eveolite scizor would already be that(maybe the evolution would be a buff just for scizor), so we need to focus on offence, but not necessarily the speed cuz bullet punch is basically its pseudo-signature move, so:

Kleavor:
Is the opposite of scizor, because its a worst type combination and the 20 extra points of speed, so even if their defense are similar i would put everything on attack and defense, but I know pkm would never just put everything in speed or attack so lets give at least 5 of that useless Sp. atk back and pass the 100 speed mark that defines if you are fast or not:

bst:500
Evolution:
HP: 75
Attack: 155
Defense: 100
Sp. Atk: 50
Sp. Def: 75
Speed: 105
bst:560

Probably something like Tropius could use some evolution, even more if you think you could use Tropius with Eviolite. Also Druddigon could be like Duraludon and get an evolution too
Love meowscarada so much! Glad to see it being played even if it has fallen out of the meta :>
Keeping Flygon 520 base stats I think ithis would be a solid stat distribution:
90 HP
135 Attack
124 Defense
60 Sp.Atk
80 Sp.Def
31 Speed
I thought it was interesting how Trapinch is considered more useful than Flygon in VGC, which is what inspired the idea for this Pokemon.
yknow, when i first found out about annihilape, i was thinking about how tauros smeargle was finally back, now with bonus rage fist. aaaaaand then it didn’t have anger point LOL
as for the qotd, i genuinely had “annihilape” as one of the potential names for my fakemon evo of primeape just before SV came out, so i’m kinda out of luck. but gimme a sunflora evo and call it sunstantial

Trend of Aaron covering for items he's already seen, the mark of a great player covering for everything they can (Knocked off the AV from TTar already)
I’ve been trying this team with krookodile and tauros (blaze). I thought I was being so creative… I’m devastated
Played against you on ladder while you were using this team. You destroyed me! GG
I do a similar build with Smergle and Krookodile. They always put their defiant pokemon up from which just become food to a tera poison max atk krook
I would love if Heracross got evolutions. I always Bug Ground would be a good type for it, but Bug Flying also makes sense, but even if it's type stayed the same Bug Fighting, I'd still use it.
GG yesterday, I had that Volcarona + Kommo-O team, against your Weezing team.
I would like an item that functions like the ability stalwart, even if it announces the item on switch like an air balloon, it would open up so many turn 1 strats while allowing follow me to not become useless.
First scyther, now primeape? Two of my favorite mons, let’s gooooo
Watching the team intro now. I love the meme and how well the team supports it. Just a little surprised why there is no speed control on this team? I’m a beginner so it would be cool to hear the thought process for skipping it.
QOTD: Id love a Torkoal ghost/fire evolution, of a skeletal turtle whose bones are cracked and glowing, wisping smoke.
Be cool as hell.
The hissiu liligant had that for belly drum snorlax so either fast or slow they have a +6 mon
I see Primeape: I click ✅
My favorite Pokemon on Road to Ranked! Finally Primeape's time to shine!!
Would love to see a video featuring Critty Kitty!! Have you played a Choice Band set with Meowscarada yet?
I remember using froslass frost breath with krookodile in reg A
I Just really want an Evolution for Ledian that makes him into a powerful Boxer.
An idea: What about including Frost Breath (as a back up guaranteed crit / Flower Trick) on the Ninetales?
I ran into this strategy a few weeks ago but with Frost Breath Froslass to trigger Anger Point. The Froslass being immune to fake out made things significantly more awkward. Long story short I got absolutely cooked. 😅
Malamar evo. Evolve it in low gravity. Give it the ability: Singularity (sets gravity upon switch, airborn while intense gravity is active)
QOTD: My soul desires a Ghost type Eveelution. We havent had a new one since gen 6 and ghost is my favorite typing. Since all the evees have the same stat numbers just in different spots i would make it
HP: 65
Attack: 110
Def: 95
SpAtk: 60
SpDef: 65
Speed: 130
I would also finally give ghost types a better physical attack than just poltergeist, shadowclaw, or phantom force. I havent thought of an ability i would want for it to have. I love prankster mons so maybe that or a brand new ability like they gave Sylveon.
PRIMEAPE LOVE THANK YOU CYBER made my year 😁😂❤️
I remember trying this with frost breath trick room smoochum and crabominable
Damn its 2024 and Cybertron comes up with an early Reg A Strat. :D
Anyways a nice update to the origin Team from 2 Years ago
Surging strikes smeargle feels like a better way to set this primape up. It crits, smeargle does less damage then meowscarada so you don't always need to drain punch, even if you dont tera. And the big bonus, the three hits super charges rage fist! Then, smeargle can follow me, spore, etc.
Smeargle is slower though, so it takes an extra turn for primeape to get value from the boosts. There's also a higher risk of smeargle getting k.o.d without having done anything.
Also wicked blow would be a lot better than surging strike in that case
@@kuukubrako1285 no, surging strikes gives more procs for rage fist
51:54 why wasn't Primarina buffeted by sand this turn??
I’m using primarina with safety googles
QotD: i would give Furret an evolution. make it normal/fairy instead of just normal, and give it stats to be a strong physical attacker that's fast but also still somewhat bulky as well. and maybe give it something like Speed Boost or Adaptability for its abilities just to make it even stronger
I’ve tried something like this w/ fire tauros w/ cloak + scarf frost breath froslass (can’t be faked out); it was aight.
Hiya Cybertron! I'd like to see you experiment with Eviolite Bisharp. I am running him partnered with Amoongus but I need some help and I'd love a video of your take on a set up for it
Perfect timing Aaron!
DundunSparce needs an evolution called DunDunDunSparce with the ability dramatic sting
Why don't we Tera Fire for Primeape instead of Steel? We can avoid getting burned if Will-O-Wisp hits. +6 maxed Attack sounds scary but with burned; it is not too much damage output overall.
Could you make a video on ladder dondozo and tatsugiri? Always match against it haha
Chimeco needs an evolution. Into a full set of wind chimes lol
(We could Knock Off + Drain Punch Farig but it's a low chance to get the KO, plus they could Fighting Tera to get around that)
+6 4 Atk Primeape Drain Punch vs.
Cheers!
Loved the twitch stream today. Please stream more!
Why not go for tera fire ape? Am i missing something dangerous in the format? I just would think burn immune minimum. Works for his big bro right? Idk i could 100% be wrong.
QOTD: Fearow, Arbok, Dodrio, and the forgotten bugs Venomoth and Parasect. Please buff these dudes.
I like this. That is all
QOTD Chimecho evolution to introduce the Sound type. Make the pre-evos pure Sound type and the evo Sound/Steel type :)
EDIT: GIVE IT BACK PERISH SONG
I was at the end of game 4 when I realised it was a primeape and not an anihilape lol
Sp. Attack Meowscarada with Flower trick to make the less possible damage to Primeape
That could work, but it makes Meowscarada a lot weaker overall - the damage you get from its attacks into your opponents is important too, and Primeape is often going to heal back all the self damage anyway via Drain Punch
wouldnt Fire or Grass tera be better for the primeape? Fire stops burns and grass stops spores and rage powder, i dont see why the steel tera over those
What is your ev distribution for Primeape?
Will eviolite Bisharp ever be viable in vgc, I wonder?
I would give Shuckle an evolution where his attacks and speed are 230 and his defenses and hp are 10
