    Very good video and explanation. It made much more sense now.

    well I was really hoping to see some of the sayings on resistor codes here, but, no luck.... lol I did learn a neat way to check a resistor when it is open, and burnt, or discolored really bad. if you scratch off the ceramic coating to get to the coils inside, you should be able to read the resistor or at least half of the resistor to determine the value of it. That is a good way to find out especially if you don't have schematics to follow. great video again.

    I watch couple of your videos (because I just discovered this channel by chance) and I’m quite frustrated on why did this channel didn’t boomed yet with all the quality content shown here huhu😭😭😭

    A very helpful video as a newbie to Electronics, although already stumped by a Resistor Value, due to a burn darkening. Thank you for your help.

    Mosfets totally confuse me a video on them would be awesome, what used for, what's source drain gate etc ? Especially in laptops

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  2 роки тому

      They are similar to transistors (see pt4), Gate is similar to the Base on a transistor (the signal to switch it) and the Source, is usually the Source of the power, and the Drain is where it Drains to when its switched on.

    when installing a resistor is there a positive or directional

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  7 місяців тому +1

      Resistors don't have a polarity, installing either way is fine.

    Hello I have a cordless drill charger, there’s power going to it but the led’s on the charger don’t light up nor does it charge my battery, it’s a tiny board with one small resistor resistor I’ve measured that and it reads 00.5,as the board is so small there’s nothing else to check, is resistor bad or anything else I can check a new charger is quite expensive.if I can repair this that would help great.
    The colours on the resistor are Black,Brown,GreenSilver and Brown.

    Should all resistors have continuity?

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  Рік тому

      If you mean with like a beep on a multimeter, no. If the resistance is too high then it won't register. Like a 10 ohm or 100 ohm resistor would beep, but a 10M ohm would not. Hope that help!

  • @Googlename699
    @Googlename699 Рік тому

    When I measure ohm by fluke, it starts with a big number then goes down to a number. Why it does that? (e.g starts with 315.7 ohm then decrement down to 150 ohm)

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  Рік тому

      Not 100% on that. Is the meter working ok? Accurate? Have you tried a different set of leads ?

    What of when we have two same colours how do we read it

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  9 місяців тому +1

      It depends where the colours are so 220 ohm would be RED, RED, and BROWN ( which means 1 zero)

  • @faithworks4753

    What if there is a continuity on a resistor when you test it with a multimeter

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  2 місяці тому

      Depends on the value of the resistor, a 10 Ohm resistor would show continuity on a multimeter yet a 10K probably wouldn't.
