well I was really hoping to see some of the sayings on resistor codes here, but, no luck.... lol I did learn a neat way to check a resistor when it is open, and burnt, or discolored really bad. if you scratch off the ceramic coating to get to the coils inside, you should be able to read the resistor or at least half of the resistor to determine the value of it. That is a good way to find out especially if you don't have schematics to follow. great video again.
This help me a lot since I kinda forgot what I’ve learn in the past I guess haha…easiest explanation and demonstration..thanks! I watch couple of your videos (because I just discovered this channel by chance) and I’m quite frustrated on why did this channel didn’t boomed yet with all the quality content shown here huhu😭😭😭 Btw goodluck!
They are similar to transistors (see pt4), Gate is similar to the Base on a transistor (the signal to switch it) and the Source, is usually the Source of the power, and the Drain is where it Drains to when its switched on.
Hello I have a cordless drill charger, there’s power going to it but the led’s on the charger don’t light up nor does it charge my battery, it’s a tiny board with one small resistor resistor I’ve measured that and it reads 00.5,as the board is so small there’s nothing else to check, is resistor bad or anything else I can check a new charger is quite expensive.if I can repair this that would help great. The colours on the resistor are Black,Brown,GreenSilver and Brown.
If you mean with like a beep on a multimeter, no. If the resistance is too high then it won't register. Like a 10 ohm or 100 ohm resistor would beep, but a 10M ohm would not. Hope that help!
When I measure ohm by fluke, it starts with a big number then goes down to a number. Why it does that? (e.g starts with 315.7 ohm then decrement down to 150 ohm)
There's a few, the one I was taught was ***** boys r@pe our young girls but virgins go without. This was back in the late 80s when I was doing a YTS course.
Close, the first word was just the colour, the "roger" was a sexual crime, and "virgins go without" was the end part. There is a whole list of them here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electronic_color_code_mnemonics
Very good video and explanation. It made much more sense now.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks and Thanks for the tip 👍

Thanks Lee Moo Eez👍 I do try! And really appreciate positive comments such as yours! Hopefully my channel takes off at some point!
Very good teacher. Logic. Thanks:)
Thanks! 👍
thank you so much you are an amazing teacher
Thank you too for your kind comment 👍
Thank you. Nice video 👍
Thank you too!
A very helpful video as a newbie to Electronics, although already stumped by a Resistor Value, due to a burn darkening. Thank you for your help.
Thanks Ron 👍
Brilliant! Thank you 😊
You're so welcome!
Mosfets totally confuse me a video on them would be awesome, what used for, what's source drain gate etc ? Especially in laptops

Very informative

How do u tell which side to start reading the value according to that chart
@@Samson-s6s Start at the end that's not gold or silver, or the colour that's not closest to the rest. That's the tolerance.
when installing a resistor is there a positive or directional
Resistors don't have a polarity, installing either way is fine.

You can drop me an email at the channel's name at out look dot com with a picture of the board perhaps?
@@BuyitFixit yes sure I can do that
is the any way of finding out what the blank ones are
Only by measuring them (preferably out of circuit).
how the latest resistor that use in cellphones they are too small how to distinguish their values?
Unfortunately you can't, unless you have the schematic diagram for the phone.
Thank you 👍👍
Welcome 👍
Should all resistors have continuity?

Not 100% on that. Is the meter working ok? Accurate? Have you tried a different set of leads ?
Thanks i like it
Thanks 👍
What of when we have two same colours how do we read it
It depends where the colours are so 220 ohm would be RED, RED, and BROWN ( which means 1 zero)
What if there is a continuity on a resistor when you test it with a multimeter
Depends on the value of the resistor, a 10 Ohm resistor would show continuity on a multimeter yet a 10K probably wouldn't.

That Fluke 77 is lovely. Worth a recalibration ;)
Yes, used that meter for years. Upgraded to the 179 about a year ago, but still have the 77 as a spare, and a 73 too!
That's great
Thanks 👍
Ohhh, please teach us the offensive mnemonic technique!
Found it! I'm not sure it's safe to post on UA-cam 😬
But as a mnemonic it's great, there's no way I'll forget it 😬😬
