- May 8 (Bloomberg) -- Sheldon Adelson, the chairman and majority shareholder of Las Vegas Sands, the world's largest casino company, is gambling's richest man. The outspoken GOP super donor sits down exclusively with Bloomberg's Betty Liu to discuss online gambling and the future of Las Vegas.
He hates online gambling because he wants them to come to his casinos.
4 years later and the law got changed hmmm
@@Neilukuk wait like did they ban it or did they unban it
@@icyx9268 I guess they partly allowed it now "In 2018, the US Supreme Court overruled the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992, revoking the federal ban on sports betting. However, the DOJ recently concluded that the 1961 Wire Act does extend to online legal betting in the United States, limiting states to offer such services to only residents"
Adelson is such a humanitarian. So concerned about our children and proper deck shuffling. We should all be grateful for his moral guidance.
Sorry, but it *OBVIOUS* that, what we're seeing here is a case of a man protecting his investment. And is inability to adapt, because he knows that once the gambling market goes legally online, VC's will start backing emerging businesses in Silicon Valley, instead of Las Vegas, or Atlantic City.
When the States created the federal government they did not give it any authority over gambling, or 90% of the other things in life it is 'legislating' on.
"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State."

These creepy old dinosaurs are always the ones that live forever.
Why you think?
You cant tell if somebody is having finincial difficulties in a casino either.
is he trying to say that no one has ever lost their rent money in his casinos?
So it's not a sin and it's okay to gamble in his casino but it isn't online? Ha what a joke.
Direct from his cryogenic defrosting...... please welcome back Mr Frank Sinatra
yes i agree with him, lets eliminate all competition though legislature so he can make even more money. great idea
Sin should be controlled. I'm in the business of sin. It should only be me that profits from it.
Guy has no points. When he talks about these poor people that shouldn't be exploited by gambling, does he keep them out of his casino?
You can be sure we don't have an interventionist God when you see hoggish fools like him living as long as he has. More money than he can spend in his life and still actively fighting competition and the public's choice. Thanks for thinking about us Sheldon.
This guy is talking in circles..
This guy is the biggest hypocrite.
Poor baby. They were supposed to come to your business. Not FAIR!!!
wrong. it has happened and will continue to happen. people bet millions a day using bitcoin gambling sites. soon decentralized (can't be shut down) p2p cryptographically secure, mathematically proven fair gambling dac's/app's will be released.
with bitcoin there are already several centralized mathematically proven fair betting sites where they show every bet (no names) for transparency.
Here is our new bumper sticker in our ongoing fight with Sheldon facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=746371195470072&set=p.746371195470072&type=1&theater
