Living as a non-Muslim in a Muslim-majority community, especially as a former Muslim, has been incredibly difficult for me. The pain of rejection is constant, people I once called family and friends now see me as an outsider or worse. It feels like every part of my identity is scrutinized, as if I’m no longer allowed to just exist without judgment, except for my mother. She has been the only person who still sees me for who I am, not just through the lens of my beliefs. It takes an immense amount of perseverance and courage to keep going. Every day feels like a test of my strength, as I navigate a world that often feels hostile to my existence. Holding onto my sense of self in the face of such adversity has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I don’t mean to sound overly bleak, but the reality itself in such community is undeniably harsh. I salute Ayaan Hirsi Ali for her courage in amplifying the voices of millions who have been silenced, inspiring many of us to keep pushing forward despite the odds.
I salute YOU for being true to yourself and challenging the beliefs that were imposed on you (assuming you were born into islam). There are many people like us, stay strong!
You lost your money, you lost nothing You lost your health, you lost something You lost your character, you lost everything including your friends and family. Islam was your character... now you have nothing...
I just admire what a good conversationalist Joe is, never interjects himself, never shifts the focus onto him, listens with genuine attention and curiosity and asks the best questions.
I can't believe this video only has 1,3k views, 51 likes and 13 (now 14) comments. This is one of the best interviews of JRE. Ayaan, thanks for your openness, your journey so far and its future. You are an example for many in different ways, your courage is remarkable, your way of speaking admirable, and your message sounds morally good.
I think the same. It is a great interview, but I think there is one characteristic that many may dislike: and that is that Ayaan speaks very slowly and in a low voice. That can be boring or tiring for certain people.
Hindu Rajput women had to self-immolate in fire when their army fell to Muslim invaders. Those women were brave and didn´t want to end up as sex slaves like in the hands of ISIS. If you want to see what really happened, just watch the Bollywood film, "Padmavat"

UA-cam has to be supressing this episide becuase it's highly critical of Islam. 17k views? This needs 17M views at least. I would love to see Ayaan and Sam Harris back in 2025 talking about the ever increasing threat of Islamic 'culture' and immigration in the west.
1:03 - Here, Ayaan is describing the sheer naivety of a country like the Netherlands, that has no understanding of how war can start and that peace should not be taken for granted. The Netherlands are being too tolerant for the intolerant, coming along with mass islamist migration. As a Dutchie, I have always had enormous admiration for Ayaan and I'm ashamed of the unworldly politicians who didn't value her as they should.
Absolutely, I always watch Joe Rogan and cannot understand why this hasn't come up into my feed. I coincidentally was watching another account of her and this randomly popped up.
It's such a sign of weakness - they won't discuss their perspectives because they can't. It's just weird they abuse others to hold onto their opinions. At least religions advocate belief inspite of others disagreement, not simply muting all disagreement.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I thought she escaped from Somalia because she's Somalian and Somalia is an extremist "religion of peace" country.
Yeah....but from somalia then daadab refugee camp hosting Somalis then JKIA airport in Nairobi then western countries after acquiring asylum status but she is originally from Somalia. Somalis use kenya as a transit route to western countries.
What a remarkable, courageous, extraordinary woman. She should be a role model for girls and young women everywhere (boys and men, too) on how to make a difference in the world for the better, after having to live through hell. Kudos to Joe for having her as a guest on his podcast.
Growing up in the Netherlands (where she lived at the time) the media convinced everyone this woman was crazy - doing my own research I came to very different conclusions. Great interview!
The thing that stood out to me the most about her story was the contrast between her clan, who told her that if she didn't have them there would be no one left to care for her, and the westerners, exemplified by the social worker at the caravan who helped her. The woman cared about Ayaan because she was a human being. That is what Western civilization means, thanks to our Christian foundation. Every person is made in the image of God, every person has value.
I've legit typed Aayan Hirsi Ali into the UA-cam search bar on multiple occasions over the last 6 months as I could listen to her all dang day... and this Rogan ep. has never come up until today (1/1/25)... Just FYI.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to Ayaan! Knowing that she’s now a Christian makes me even more excited to follow her journey. I appreciate her balanced approach to tough topics, and I truly believe that her faith in Christ will enhance her influence. I just want her to know that I’m praying for her to have the patience and wisdom of our Lord Jesus.

I can’t believe this poor woman’s story. And as she’s telling it, she is still justifying the men from that culture by explaining that that’s all that they know. It is truly sad that a woman can be given away like property that they have to cover up so much of themselves just to go in public. I think everybody should have to hear this story. They should play for children in middle school just to get perspective on the rest of the world.
