Awesome idea. You and Liddy deserve huge kudos. Great examples to your children.

I'm really glad we found you. I follow you on both my personal account, and my YT Homestead Channel. (VERY NEW) Following you as you transition to a more full time homestead business is inspiring. We are still very early in our Journey, and not yet on an actual homestead. ONE of the things we plan on doing is a closed (as possible) flock of dual purpose birds, and Bresse is at the top of my research results. This Herd share info is important to talk about. Good job.

You teach a lot and so much of it is exactly what I'd like to do, but I can't agree with every practice yet. I'm resubscribing. I hope I'm able to find land in a better policed country and that this one is able to allow everyone to have better free immediate solutions to every problem.
Any thoughts on putting whole carrots into the ground at certain distances to have them seed the land the cows aren't on at a certain time of year? I'd possibly have to check an area again to better verify the exact genus/species but I believe I've eaten wild carrot or queen anne's lace flowers and they were amazingly sweet.
Also, if you try this, please know that tilling the soil more deeply likely leads to faster growth above ground and more air for fungi underneath to break down elements for nutrient uptake from the existing minerals in the ground.

Thank you for explaining "herd share" to us (me). I recall as a young boy with lots of allergies and health issues, that my parents bought "raw milk" for us because the doctor said it was best. As an adult now, I raise honey bees and sell the honey without government interference but the day may be coming when regulations win out. When I worked as a medical missionary in Haiti, we used to get goats milk (raw) and it was a sure way to fatten up underweight kids and babies. No regs there. "Herd Share"sounds like a great program and way to earn a few extra bucks. BTW, thanks for the great demo of setting up the electric fence at the same time as the explanation. One last thing, does raw milk taste different from reg whole milk? Bet it's creamier.

Oh and the carrot idea was towards the original reason why cheese was actually orange-ish naturally. There are over 600 known carotenoids at the moment, I'm unsure how many more we'll know about in the future.

Does the milk taste much different from store bought?

Better! Raw has a fresher, richer 'milk' flavor. Find some, and try. You'll love it.
