If the Saudi League becomes more competitive, I’d like to see other Asian leagues becoming bigger as well to compete continentally. I also would like to see a more competitive club World Cup.
That would be cool to see!
No team in Asia can compete with ME outside of Korea and Japan
@@unggading6990 a few teams in china as well
@@unggading6990and Russia soon
Bangladeshi league??? Expectation
I feel this is a turning point for the sport. I have felt for a while something in football felt stale as of recently, and this is a mayor driver of how the sport is being split between gigantic megacorp - like clubs like Real Madrid, and oil money clubs. Everyone else is gonna find it extremely difficult to stay competitive and a few of the bigger ones like Barcelona, will probably find themselves going under due to debt.
This is why as off late I support more than anything clubs in South America, and clubs like Bilbao, Betis, and celta de vigo. Football is also about culture and tradition. Let's not have the Saudi Royals take that away from out communities
Are you by chance Portuguese?
@@juliuscaesar8163all the clubs they said are Spanish or South American
Oh shut it
idk man, the culture of European and South American clubs will never be replicated no matter what, and us Europeans and South Americans should 100% come together to embrace that to the full, but I doubt that the Saudis are trying to take that authenticity away from us. They know that they can't take history away from these clubs, but they can turn the casual viewer's attention towards them. And who are we to say that they can't create their own competitive league with quality players like we have? We will always have the culture and tradition like you say, but we should also embrace the increased worldwide interest in football the Saudis are going to bring about, however half-hearted that interest may be. And as for the money side, I think we are just going to have to live with it unfortunately - we were able to stop the Super League because it legit was trying to ruin the entire history and culture of the European leagues, but we can't really stop things like the Saudi League and the MLS from growing can we?
I do feel the same, as a Burnley fan the dream of being back in European Competition looks slimmer and slimmer each season!
People don’t realise Saudi has tried in many different ways to develop football in their country but it had been shadowed by the popularity of other leagues around them and this is a way to seek attention of people outside of Saudi Arabia to go watch their league develop, and i can confirm the fans are still very happy and proud by their culture, + many Saudi clubs have decent history like: al-hilal,al-nassr , al-shabab,al-ahly,al-ittihad,al-riyadh and so on , we will have to see how does this investment works out
I agree that I feel like the culture is there, it's a very young part of the world and are clearly well into the sport. I think it will work for them
Don’t care, the Saudis are ruining the sport. Maybe they should use their sovereign wealth funds on actually taking care of their citizens.
it won’t do shit
What do you mean by “leagues all around them”? The Saudi league is the only watchable league and by far the most watched league in west Asia. It’s also officially the number one ranked Asian league even ahead of Japan and Korea. The only leagues that are better than Saudi are in Europe or South America
@@khldwb1425 didn’t mean in Asia (غلطان معليش)+ the Russian league is watched more than the Saudi league
If a player goes to Saudi Arabia in their prime like Neves, I think football is now bascially about money. It has been like this for a few years but I think it takes it to another level
Neymar left Barca in his prime to go to PSG. It’s been about money since the 90s.
@@YeTismpsg is differnt to Saudi Arabia no? Also psg triggered his release clause plus he wanted to go cuz he didn’t want to be in the shadow of Messi anymore. he wanted to be the best player at his club
You gotta show you opinion with you pocket and time. Support a club like Betis, Bilbao, Celta de Vigo, or even Real Sociedad. Clubs where fans matter, where there is an effort to preserve culture. Watch their games. If you keep buying shirts and watching only games from oil money clubs, then you are telling all clubs that they have to sell their soul
@@mrmeeseeks2534no its not different.
Football has been all about money since the dawn of time to be fair, main reason why players come to the Premier League is because them clubs can spend the most on wages and fees too
Now looking at this I think this is going to make the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry much more interesting.
Messi opted to go to Miami with less money than the SPL in a league that is closed. Ronaldo went to Riyadh with a big paycheck and a pro/rel system. I think this will be the next part of it, with two young cultures growing, landing big events, and a quasi battle of which system works better.
Your idol went to mls for more money read the contract 🤦🏾♂️
Danny is right. Messi indeed will get more money in the States.
What are you talking about? Did you see Messi’s contract?
Messi will be owning half of the team(unprecedented) and Apple TV Made a personal deal with him. It's not 2011 dude lmao
new cold war😂
England - How To Buy A Sport , i see no diffrence
It feels a lot more real than the Chinese Super League was and has been decades of meticulous planning all coming to fruition now. They have already bought golf. But football is entirely different ball game. If they lobby FIFA enough, they will become the dominant league like they lobbied the PGA, with time
Saudi Money is a completely different ball game, I agree
Except it doesn't. Until the Saudi League gets a very very large international television deal that reaches European as well as North and South America, which they likely won't unfortunately, this is unsustainable.
Saudi Arabia has money but they aren't going to continue paying players like an always injured Kante €100 million a season at 32 years old and there isn't a century long culture there like there is in Europe and South America that will attract top players in their prime no matter how much money they offer.
It will improve, but it will be -- at best -- the modern MLS. Which they may consider successful. I dunno.
The premier league is a world wide brand. It's watched by millions and millions of people in North and South America. Not even 1/10 of those fans will ever watch the Saudi league.
@@thenim4963Did you watch the video? The big 4 Saudi clubs are owned by the PIF which is valued at 320 billion. They can definitely sustain this. They aren’t investing in sports for sports washing, they’re doing it as a source of income for when the oil runs out. The sports washing is just an added bonus
@@thenim4963what you don’t know is that by having these ‘past it’ legends they provide a way for the other players to get better, meaning a higher quality league. Better football means that more Saudi children will watch their national league, and their national team will be better and will compete on the world stage. soon they will reach the knockouts of the world cup
@@Kaijufiedyeah I don't think you understand how this works. I'm very familiar with the PIF, and I'm not talking about sustaining success in terms of simple existence. I'm talking about their ambitions in becoming a top flight league and that takes a development of the league and culture, which is 100 times difficult than tossing money at players.
They need to profit at some point. Right now they're in the investment stage and everyone is in aww with how much they're throwing around.
But they're getting guys like Ronaldo and Benzema in the back end of their careers. They aren't going to get players like Mbappe or Haaland. They're getting Ruben Neves. They didn't even get Messi this year and they were offering tons of money.
It's very difficult for them to get people to WANT to play there. That's why they're paying a player in Ngolo Kante €100 million a year even though he's 32 and spent the last 3 seasons injured more than healthy... Because they have to in order to attract him. They haven't even gotten a commitment from Lukaku or Aubamyang even though they're getting offered a hell of a lot more than they will in Europe.
Anyone impressed with what they've done is likely early impressed by anything shiny. LIV golf was a fucking disaster and eventually merged with the PGA, who just wanted money and licensing. Just look at how quickly they needed to latch onto the PGA in order to stay above water.
This isnt sportswashing. As a Saudi, I can tell you we live great lives. Women included. Our bad "reputation" will fix itself, once the people who want to pressure us find out we arent as easy to crush as the other people they played games with (and they are already giving up). This is investment for the future. We know oil is running out, we know oil is gonna become obselete. We don't wanna go down with oil, so we are creating new invome sources for ourselves. Entertainment, tourism, business, technology, etc. This is just one of many. Realise PIF is specifically created as an investment fund. Its in the name. Its role is to put in money, then take out more money. We arent doing this to "fix our reputation", were doing this for ourselves.
Good. Now start using you brains.
as also a saudi a agree this is not sports washing us saudis love football i myself a hilal fan for life
The middle east have financed a large part of the European teams for the longest time, now they figure they’d rather not have to travel to see the games. I personally don’t like the idea of buying relevance, because history has so much to do with sports, but the point that the video made about how we can’t really be mad at them for spending the money they have is pretty valid
It all started with Saudi beating Argentina in the WC. Such a shock result and opened eyes to many on Saudi football.
Tbh Ronaldo leaving to Saudi was the major indicator that they’ll attract more stars
Yep
As a Saudi I think about it positively. It’s nice to see change in the football organization in the country. What makes this project different from the CSL is that even after their signings they aren’t as strong continentally in the AFC champions league. Meanwhile, the SPL currently is arguably the best league in Asia even before these signings. And with those the league level will raise more and more even benefiting the neighboring countries.
But unfortunately anything linked to Saudi Arabia is misrepresented in the western media. As if they are the guardians of football and we don’t have the right to enjoy it likewise.
Chinese and Saudi football is looked down upon but American 'Soccer' is highly praised, despite doing the same thing. Just Western Bias.
@@DrYellow96 The hypocrisy is ridiculous 😂😂
Of course you do
@@Not_Sal??
It's getting to the point where I actually think teams will start to fade away that we all loved for so many years
It’s already happening bud
Bound to happen. Happened earlier, will probably happen once again.
Personally, as an American fan, I find the historical element of the game, promotion and relegation, being able to dream about your team rising to excellence, to be the most alluring part of being a football fan. Liam made a great point with the seriousness of the signings that saudi arabia is making, the state syndication of these clubs, and the fact that they’re literally backed by the wealth of a nation. I do fear that the Saudi league will usurp the european leagues and therefore their history with their endless amounts of money. But I’m conflicted, as it’s also not fair to deny those fans in Saudi Arabia who are just as removed from european sports as I am in America, their ability to enjoy the game. I just hope messi’s arrival in the US will start an influx of more high-rep players coming in and making our league better over time like pele and beckham did.
Get a job
in the mls the teams cant relegated or promoted, what are you talking about?
difference is MLS doesn't throw around ridiculous amount of money to players, Saudis are.
just to add to ur point about the big 4 being under PIF now, in addition to that, 4 other teams are already under different bodies and companies, one of them being under Aramco (2nd biggest company in the world) with other similar aquistions planned.
It will hopefully bring more competition for the big teams
Something you didn’t touch on is the fact that the political situation in Saudi Arabia will make it impossible to attract certain players. “Money can’t by happiness” is exactly right. They threw a billion dollars at Messi, who turned them down to go to the US because (if reports are to be believed) his wife did not want to live in a country where she would have to cover up and where she would have limited rights. The lack of personal freedom in Saudi means certain players are never going to play there, and that also means there is a ceiling on how far the league can go.
You don't know anything about Saudi Arabia. Women have better rights

uhmmm you do know that messi and his family came to saudi arabia a couple of times and if she did not like it she wouldn’t have come in the first place + im pretty sure they had a great time you can see the pictures and decide for yourself its more on personal preference shed rather live in the us its not because of limited rights and speaking of womens rights your news are old i advise you to read more into it education is a good thing keep your info up to date.
Keep being ignorant.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Saying money cant buy happiness just means you dont have enough of it.
You’re so brainwashed mate, look at Georgina, she doesn’t cover up in Saudi? And btw Messi has a tourism deal with Saudi Arabia and they’ve gone there many times.

The Idea of saying that we as Saudis aren't living safely and peacefully is a lie also the term sportwashing is ridiculous imo as a saudi, idk why people speak on our behalf, I would love if youtubers would host these saudis and let them express themselves freely but I doubt anyone has a courage to do so because simply trash talking the country gets clicks and that is very upsetting
Also the idea of having 4 clubs that are owned by PIF and there's 3-4 teams that are now owned by companies like Aramco, so the idea behind it is to try to privatize the league and everything going on is just an expirement and over times all club would be privitized and in the upcoming months there are 4-5 clubs that will also be on sale but they need to build them their own stadium to make everything easier for the investors and people who want to buy these clubs and actually the middle - lower teams will also get players for example Al-Tawoon which is a middle team is interested in buying Icardi and a bunch of other players
Lol you think the Saudi’s aren’t sportswashing?

Subbed to you just around the time you finished doing fifa content and honestly your productions are amazing to watch now.
Great video as always Vizeh! Can’t wait for the next one pal!
well in terms of history and fan culture, middle eastern clubs (especially the ones in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran and Qatar) have a decent history and fan culture. Some classic asian games can gather around 80k fans in a stadium.
A tough one for me, having lived in the middle east. Football is massive there, yes most watch the big european teams, but they are also supporters of their local clubs. Saudi Arabia is no Qatar, Saudi has made it to many world cups in a continent which includes Japan, South Korea, Iran being some of the teams they compete with to gain qualification.
AFC Champions League is no easy task to win as well Al-Hillal has won 4 AFC titles(most) and have reached a combined 16 finals with other Saudi teams.
While Saudi has more recent history of human right violations, the European clubs equally has had more pre and post world wars, and the UK and everyone tried bringing their "sports" into these countries by pumping money left right and center.
No one says anything to Euopean teams for buying some of the best African talents from their countries, African football could have reached it's status had money not been at play.
I think they can maintain this, the main thing is improving the quality of the homegrown players to balance the league out with time!
Exactly, no one says anything to english teams while england is the biggest supplier of guns to the middle east. It's all just hypocrisy.
If it was any other country I would say no. But the Saudis have the money to sustain this and they’re working on getting the 2030 World Cup. The Saudi’s see sports as a new source of income for when all the oil runs out which means they’re taking this seriously, as we’ve seen with golf
Crazy how much of an impact the LIV Golf takeover has had with this man
@@VizehLIV is objectively better than the PGA for golf..
I love your content so much man. Keep it up
Good video but in my opinion the most important part in football and establishing yourself as a country is culture which is something I see them failing at, you can bring in big names and get a lot of fans and viewers but if all the top clubs are the same nobody is going to care which club they sign to or who wins what. Also European football is key which will be difficult for them to get.
You must be younf

I agree, it's well and good have Ronaldo and Ziyech on one team, but a squad is full of 11 players and the Saudi (Homegrown) players need to be better with time to make the overall quality of the league better. Time is the main aspect for their success

amazing intake. thank you for being objective and reasonable
As you say, in recent memory we've seen this kind of thing from both the MLS and the Chinese Super League, the MLS did it in a clever way supplementing already decent enough teams with well known superstars reaching the twilight of their career and used it as motivation for young Americans and Canadians to get to the levels of Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Zlatan, Giovinco etc and gain experience from players who've played at the very highest level and now the MLS is at the highest level it has ever been and has been shown by the continued growth of the US National team and especially the Canadian National team.
The CSL however was boom or bust, they tried to sign absolutely everyone who was interested on massive wages with the idea of developing Chinese players being put on the back burner and it was never going to be sustainable, if the Saudi's have any common sense about them they will run it more like the MLS than the CSL. However it also must be pointed out that Saudi Arabia faces a much bigger task ahead of it as many many western players will be severely put off by the way the country is run, not being allowed to drink, gay people being outlawed etc and for some it just simply won't be worth any amount of money to live in what the west views as a country with less freedom. I don't think it will work out, I think it'll end up being a massive scam to get around FFP for Newcastle and any other Saudi owned clubs that will pop up in the next few years.
Cracking video again, mate! Keep up the top notch work!
Just like Alfie from HITC Sevens said: It won't succeed - Saudi Money isn't even that high, for comparison: Norways investment fund has 3-4 times more budget but they have things to do like care about their own people
I mean imagine living in a country that pays a billion of dollars per years for a few Europeans while your population needs better roads (most people in Saudi die because of car accidents), some basic human rights etc.
It's just ridiculous
Saudi Arabia is doing this because it does not want to depend on oil. Secondly, we have rights

China didn’t stop because it didn’t have money, but because it felt it much better to invest in the grassroots and the Chinese football fans/prospects. It’s silly to say that the origins of football, according to FIFA, in China has less enthusiasm for football or that the 2nd richest country has less money than the Kingdom if Saudi Arabia
As a saudi, the league is very competitive and already there is 5 big teams that are competing in 3 major championships ( the league - king cup - the super league )
People sleep on that, bringing big names will make the league more competitive and exciting to watch
The saudi league is called the premier league of gulf area, it will only became bigger, its not like the Chinese or the American experince.
Saudi players already are advancing, big players from Europe will only rise the level even more
On one hand it feels less genuine when clubs that are invested by the Middle East dominant their leagues but in the other when run well, offer some of the most impressive and entertaining teams to look at. As a United fan I was genuinely more entertained by clubs like Newcastle this season throughout the 36 weeks I was viewing PL games
Most of those players are 30+ and their athletic abilities, will only go downhill.
It's just buying starts with 0 zero scouting of new rising talents
Great video. I enjoyed it
regarding the history of saudi in football is big in our region we have 6 ACL alhilal 4 and Alittihad 2 and Alittihad holding the record of the only team won ACL two times in a row I know it's not a big a deal for a European and for the saudi league is not predictable it is very competitive and there is a history of rivalry between the clubs
When I found your Chanel I was shocked that you didn’t have more subs and subbed and liked
As a man from Saudi Arabia I watched the Saudi league before all the big players coming it was a great league not very big but a lot of passionate fans and the new players coming there are some positives and negatives the positives are that it’s better for us to see a great league with amazing players but there can be a lot of bandwagon fans which effects us at the end I feel this is great for us and we’re enjoying this happening to us
God bro you never miss man!
New Castle and Man city are their property btw so nothing new is happening here . Don’t act like they are ruining sport cause man city and new castle were never ever reach these levels . I wish somehow their Leauge join UCL cause it’s absolutely not fair these teams play against teams like my club that the whole squad worth less than one of their players.

Look, Saudi Arabia is doing this to not only improve their league, but it is in their plans in their 2030 vision.
Stop the hate, when chelsea and china did it all the European's were taking it as a meme but when an arab country does it it’s forbidden. Just support them
If they manage to get into the champions league system, i think the league could be massive. I want to see more great players from Asia. We know Japan and Korea have great talents, but i also want to see Indonesians, Kazakhs, Indian players at big clubs. Maybe this will help for players from those nations
I think distance will be a problem, having teams flying 8-10 hours for Wednesday and play Sunday I can only imagine what Klopp will say😂
@@Vizeh its definitely a long distance, but its not further away than Astana in Kazachstan and they play European football regularly. They are just doing what the premier league has been doing along the years, not fun right?
The problem with all these takeovers owners have forgotten that it actually takes time and effort to get to the top.
Viz, I heard they’re securing an English broadcasting deal which boosts the league in my opinion
Mentioning the wm in quatar if you ignore the fact that people literally died building the stadium it was indeed a "great" football event
my two cents on this are that the english have done the same to the sport and many other sports. Not just the english, the americans as well. And countless others. This should be highlighted to present an unbiased view on the situation. I dislike Saudi Arabia as well because they aren't all that protectors of the muslim world as much as they like to portray themselves as one, but i cannot let the hypocrisy of some big names in England slide.
This is probably just the beginning. Buying big name players is nice but they are old AF. Ruben neves is an early sign of what could become the norm. Right now But clubs compete to sign star players fromsmaller clubs. Like grealish to city or how Dortmund are picked apart every season. Now, there's a gonna be a new player in the Saudi's. I think this could provide an even larger demand for academy talent since they're less likely to leave. This could bring down the level of the top clubs in Europe and could maybe weaken one horse races in league competition or make it stronger.
When the MLS tried to buy players with huge salary there was no backlash only when its Saudi.. wonder why?!
Or when real madrid spend 200mill on 3 teenagers from Brazil

Saying "its not my fault, im not doing it" about saudi human rights violations and still enjoying it, is exactly how sportswashing works... 5 years ago, when you think of Saudi Arabia, you think of journalists being beheaded, women being stoned to death, now, you think of Ronaldo...
Supporting, watching the saudi league is directly supporting the saudi regime. Saying its not your problem is crap, if everyone stays silent, nothing will happen, no change...
Perfect example from my country Australia 🇦🇺. We host the womens world cup next month, Visit Saudi Arabia was an official sponsor, and us aussies collectiveky banded together, made our voices heard and fifa was forced to withdraw them.
Sportswashing is evil. Pure evil
Nothing is going to change, people just don’t like when players chose money over a legendary team. If a super league were to buy every good player ever, the fans will still be there for the team. Look at every team who’s best player leave for “bigger” teams. It’s not like they buy one big player and you take 100 of their fans as well lol
As an argentinian I remember the failure of the Chinese super league because Tevez came to Boca Juniors, he became the top scorer of the league and then left to get more money and we lost the Copa Libertadores (South American champions) because of him leaving so when he came back to Boca he was hated AF and then retired so this is that all over again, Cristiano,Kante,Benzema left because of money and when the oil pool runs out they are going to retire
With all due respect to you, your country's economy is collapsing, and your government is trying to print money with Messi's image on it.
And Saudi Arabia is investing in all kinds of sports and everything in order not to depend on oil. Do you understand?
Europe in the last century also started buying only 1 or 2 South Americans or Africans at a time. See how European teams are currently, real madrid has only 1 Spanish player in the team (carvajal). It takes time to assemble great teams and investments have started now, with time they will probably have great teams
Lovely content
In terms of history there is a lot of history in the Saudi league I wish you know someone who could explain it clearly
Saudi Arabia has a fascinating football history and is really making strides in growing its football culture. But there's a concern that they're relying too heavily on buying players rather than investing in developing their own unique footballing identity from the ground up. It's great to see their evolution from regional tournaments in the late 1950s to professional leagues in the 1990s. However, the recent trend of high-profile signings like Ronaldo, Benzema, and the Messi rumors raises questions about the long-term sustainability and the focus on nurturing young talents. The absence of spending regulations in the Saudi Professional League (SPL) gives them an advantage in attracting European talent, but it's also drawn criticism for potential 'sportswashing' and human rights concerns. While the SPL aims to be a top-ten league, it currently ranks 58th globally. Still, the signings of renowned players like Ronaldo have definitely boosted the league's popularity, attracting millions of fans and bringing in revenue for Saudi Arabia's tourism industry. It's interesting to see Saudi Arabia's investments going beyond football, like the LIV Golf league and potential bids for major international tournaments. It's important for them to strike a balance between attracting international stars and nurturing local talent to ensure a sustainable and authentic footballing culture for the future.
To put it simply, yes

the saudi pro league unlike the premier league is FREE at least here in saudi arabia any cable box comes with SSC 1(the saudi sports company) and if you want to go to a match front row tickets are about 100 sar or 25 usd for big games like al nassr al hilal or al ittihad but at some clubs you can get vip for that price like al ahli
As an Arab i rlly hope people would understand us and our culture and i dont know whtas the problem with the saudi football and investments what if they hosted the world cup or got more players we dont force these players to go and europe doesnt understand how muchh history we have here in football in middle east
im from egypt and in egypt theres al ahly which is the most successful club in africa and arab world it got more trophies than massive names in europe
so lastly i hope people could undertstand and get with it because i think the media will not show you the full picture always
You are not hosting 2030 world cup. That's south america
@@drkpmnair yeah we pulled out but we will host 2034
14:44 nah fam Burnley vs Crystal Palace under the turf Moore floodlights is elite
I think if Arabian clubs buy the correct players and draw attention to themselves they can easily be one of the best leagues
I need play from culb in saudi Arabia. Wahts rule m from India
More and more young football fans are not supporting clubs anymore but rather certain players, so yeah, I fear that this concept might have long lasting success
Saudi the next big league 🔥
The market is supply and demand, why do we envy Saudi Arabia?
the prem kinda did the same thing
Another great video Vizeh
Is your video style inspired from Josh Revell/Perspective F1 ?
Though Saudi Arabia has bought many star players, it is yet to be seen if this will help their domestic players develop to near their level.
Bro saudi shares borders with us saudi league has a rich history every single club has a story in saudi, the football culture in the middle east is the same as england italy and whole europe, the biggest clubs in asia and africa are the arabic clubs from Egypt, morooco and saudi,i respect the amount of time you spent making this video but please search about the clubs and league you are talking about❤
All of this could have been avoided if Manchester United had a proper jacuzzi
I agree with a lot of things u r saying 😎
I've always wanted to say this...
Al Wehda's crest looks like your average template UA-cam logo.
If we had signed Teixeira in 2016, then we never would’ve signed one of Mane or Salah. What a blessing the Chinese Super League was!
I hope that history will be valued more then money.
This guy went from mediocre fifa videos to incredible football documentaries
Sustainability will be the downfall of the Saudi Pro League. The wages are a massive attraction but the mistake you make is they have “Saudi Money”. The purpose of the league is to replace the oil money which has currently made them so wealthy. The premier league currently brings in £5.5billion per year, PIF offered Messi 1billion contract 1/5 of combined Premier League revenue. A league using wages to attract will never be sustainable unless the purpose of the league is a cash burning exercise, once the wages drop what’s the attraction?
Also you mention Europe/Saudi in similar time zones. If Prem, La Liga, Serie A etc feel threatened they will be more than happy to put games at a competitive time slot to draw attention away.
Time is the key pl doesn't create this hype in a year or two
I respect you for your honesty opinion and to answer your question quality is there but need to work on that on more professional level.
Football is very important and a lot of successful Saudi players were very poor so there is a a reason and a base to work on. And that’s why once you bring in a professional player big players this will influence the young players to be more successful.
I’m not saying the Saudi league is better or more interesting than the west leagues. But we are very passionate fans and the fan base is there. England was not always great footballing nation but with time now they are on top. The same goes for Spain France ( mostly immigrants who won the World Cup).
So if you disagree with our government or our leaders that’s your opinion and your entitled to it.
But it’s easy to criticize our leaders and our government while you have not lived in Saudi.
I want you honestly to ask anyone from the UK who lived here ( BAE SYSTEMS EMPLOYEES) just ask them about the human rights violations if there is any. I don’t agree with a lot of western cultures but you don’t see me trying to change it. There is always something different and that’s what makes the world. If simply because I see something right in UK does it have to be right in Saudi Arabia , not at all.
I can imagine a lot of people coming at me for standing up for my government and leadership but that’s is called patriotism something we all have and fight for the difference is that’s here in the Middle East it lasts a long a very long time because of loyalty I may not like some of the Royal family but I will not try to overthrow our government just to prove a point. The changes comes at a very slow pace but we eventually get there I simply ask if you westerns to only see the people not the government that you’ve been told to hate.
Sincerely
A Saudi man
Thank you for finally talking for us they feel entitled to change things they don’t have to do
The world cup in Qatar was so great....... Men DIED to build the stadiums that spectacle was held in
I didnt watch 1 minute of this one and never will watch a world cup again
I just don't see there being any interest in the Saudi League from people outside of Saudi. Half a million a week for almost every player going there, they are miles from reality.
The only question for me is how long before they get bored of the football project?
We will not get bored. Football is a famous sport in Saudi Arabia. Also, the league is watched by all the Gulf and Arabs as a whole. and after Cristiano, there are foreigners watching the Saudi League. You may not be watching, so you think everyone is not be watching
@@mjd3618 I would guess that you are probably quite right in the fact that other Arab and neighbouring countries would watch. My general point was that most European fans would not.
The boredom point was more directed at those funding it. As whether it continues or not is solely down to how long Saudi want to throw money at it as the returns will be incredibly minimal.
@@mjd3618 the Cristiano fans will go away when he retires
The prem bought players from other leagues and before them it was italy so i don’t see why saudi can’t do it and i dont see why people are being so negative about it.
We have done it for years and are now we complain when someone does it to us? The game is the game. They have every right to do this.
But when the prem and serie a bought players, it wasn't directly done by the government as Saudi Arabia has, owning Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Hilal. Buying players from other leagues isn't a problem, it's the way those funds arose and who they are from which is the problem. No government should have such a heavy hand into the running of sport as Saudi Arabia are currently displaying, so no they don't have a right to do so.
@@toxic0470i mean its their league and they can do what they want i dont see a problem with them owning 4 clubs to help grow them. Its an investment fund after all the goal is to maximise revenue and profits
It’s because of where the money comes from
@@unknowndash on the face sure its an investment fund, but its an investment fund backed and made by the Saudi Arabian government. especially when there are no ffp rules in place from the AFC (Asian UEFA) , they are completely free to offer ludicrous wages to players to entice them over to the Saudi league. there's a difference between helping them grow and forcing them to grow, and what the PIF and by extension the government are doing falls squarely into the latter
This literally happened with the United States and other countries. They want to expand their influence into the sport, they buy good players to boost their leagues. Has happened SO MANY times. I'm from the UK and love your channel but come on dude, don't pinpoint it on one country.
I agree with you it just sounds like a wester complaining when they don't get their way, it's obviously by now nobody cares what the west thinks of the world for the most they're hypocrites, like for explain it's for the mls do this but not the arabs? Why cuz the media said so yea buddy they're the last people I trust in the world. For most part the media has divided us more than ever we should rather met the people of the country then judge for ourselves.
When? What leagues? Surely not any of the big 3, which are all sports that almost no one else on earth plays, and who's leagues were never as big as the US Associations. Regarding football ⚽️ the NASL folded within a decade of their disastrous attempts to attract big names, and MLS has long moved on from its "aging David Beckham" strategy, where they still couldn't even attract big names the rate that the Saudis are. So please, unless this is a typical strawman argument, tell us what you're talking about.
