Das war/ist richtig gut! Ich würde euch wirklich gern mal live erleben. Sardinia ist immer noch meine Refuge, aber ich kann gerade nicht sagen, wo ich bin... klingt ein wenig verrückt. Ich melde mich bei Dir.
An intense and profound sonic experience. The notes of the soprano sax penetrate the soul, while the bass creates a sonic carpet on which the drums pound out frenetic rhythms. An emotional exploration that leaves a mark. A highly complex work of sonic art. The three instrumental voices dialogue in an intimate and passionate way, creating a sonic fabric rich in nuances and contrasts. A listening experience that requires attention and involvement, but that rewards with intense emotions. Amazing work guys!!!!

Another unique sound coming from this combo. Like LBZ said, the recording quality is surprisingly impressive, production-wise. And one thing I love about Roland's playing is how he jumps into this hard swing every now and then in between aggressive flurries and phrases driving a counter-tempo. That second part was a perfect way to balance out the first part. I really appreciated that lighter section. Overall, the playing between you three is excellent!
Thank so much for your attentive listening, Karl, it means a lot! I also love Roland's ability to fluctuate freely between all those different playing modes! as a drummer, it makes interraction so much more fun! there's this implicit understanding between us that we don't have to follow each other's lead when somebody comes up with a specific melodic or rhythmic idea; instead, we are free to complement it, act as a counterpoint or follow a completely different line of thought altogether... I feel it makes for a more interesting and dynamic dialogue!
Wonderful playing by all three musicians! Jean's contributions were very interesting. I loved the soft yet suspenseful dynamic at the beginning of Second Part.
Thanks a lot, Patrick! yes, I love his playing too, there's something quite "painterly" (we're both painters) about his approach to sound that I can easily relate to!
Amazing as ever collab and sounds really great on both parts!! I loved the second part especially how everyone got so unorthodox with the instruments like all the scraping on the drums or whatever that would be called and so on, was very fun to watch and hear the results 👌👏
Sorry, missed your lovely message (I'm just back from a Paris trip!), so glad you enjoyed it, roland and I are very much into "extended" techniques, I often use my hands, it's just that it's not always obvious from listening only!
@@urbulibaba I do a lot of listening. I try to watch too but most of my UA-cam time is at work so a lot of the times I'm doing work stuff while I listen Also that's really awesome to hear and I hope you had a wonderful time in Paris :)
Great individual and collective musicianship. And congratulations to Roland for the pun!! Lack of shoes??? Does this aid inspiration??? I tried composing with my shoes off - and only got cold feet. Then, it is the north of England!!!😀
haha thanks a lot! :D I actually suspect the barefoot look is all for show, Roland's trying to pass himself off as Zen master (the effect was somewhat marred by the bermuda shorts in the previous video)... I myself was wearing beautiful high-heeled satin shoes, such a shame one can't see them here owing to the chairs in front...
Thank you!! :D ha, no particular reason, we French people enjoy going on strikes and wreaking havoc anywhere we go - it's a deeply entrenched penchant that can manifest itself in a variety of ways: flinging croissants at random customers at the baker's, burning cars in a parking lot, or flipping furniture upside down at a music school, as in here. The conspicuous absence of hosiery is calculated to arouse the compassion of potential benefactors and free jazz patrons (we are poor); I also suggested we might grime our faces with soot for a more dramatic effect, but Roland and Jean thought it would look a bit hammy...
@@urbulibaba haha!!!! That's the spirit of anarchy I was hoping for. My mornings would certainly be more interesting if I was constantly having to duck croissants in the morning. As a fully paid-up member of the British Sock Council, I don't approve of foregoing hosiery, though. Even in sandals and shorts. ;)
this looks like a semi-makeshift recording session, and certainly sounds like a balanced professional mix, smoking session gents!
Thanks so much, Roger! being able to record with good mics (and a room with great acoustics) makes a world of difference!
It was a pleasure to listen to you over a nice coffee. Thanks for sharing. Great Jam
