And of course during cricket Tests, players on both teams stayed here. Used to be a bookstore called Giggles - unsure if it is still there.

You should visit Karaikudi and dig deeper into the chettiar community! Absolutely fascinating! They were traders who had trade across different South Asian countries and their mansions and food reflect just that. Chettinadu cuisine is basically a fusion between south Indian and South East Asian cuisine. A trip to Karaikudi cannot be complete without a stay at Chidambara Vila. Do plan a trip...You won't regret it 😊 तक्काली मिलगु rasam is nothing but tomato and pepper rasam... it's a staple in most Tamilian households. And आपम is what you had. अप्पम is a sweet dish that looks like sweet paniyaram.
Wow, this hotel is so beautiful and luxurious. Your room is fantastic and the balcony is so huge. The whole property is mindblowing. The Chettinad Thali looks so tempting. This black jumpsuit looks classy on you. Your staycation experience always speaks luxury. 💞💖
Hotels in India are very ostentatious still holding on to colonial past, fortunately the world has moved on and Hotels in Europe are very modern with the homely feeling. I stayed at one of the Oberoi hotels in Mumbai and I felt cold and uncomfortable despite the weather was hot. I won’t go there again for a long while, the staff were extremely nice and accommodating nevertheless.
