Ok I must tell you I am so thankful to see you give thanks in prayer before your meal!! Do not ever give that up!! Yes Justine is a gentle lady and Ron def is a gentleman!!
That really touched me and was the most beautiful thing l've seen in forever. When Justine sang "You are my Sunshine", and Ron said l love you too. It almost makes my cry. Y'all are so darling. ❤
Speaking of the harmonica- i just had to chime in again with this story that did NOT occur two hundred years ago but is never the less extremely interesting. Several years ago I was at a large memorial service for one of my friends when ALL OF A SUDDEN the pastor said, "Now here is Stevie Wonder" and no joke, who walked up to the podium but the man himself. He said a few words about my friend, sang a hymn, then whipped out his HARMONICA and played a tune. NO ONE moved, no one took out their phones to film him as far as I know (I was sitting in the very back of the room). After he played the harmonica, he left the church by a side door and the memorial continued as if nothing out of the order had just happened. It was amazing.
I was born French Catholic and used to attend the midnight mass with my family in Alsace. After mass, we'd gather at my grandmother's farm house and have the "Reveillon" (pronounce: rev-ay-o.... but the o finishes with a nasal sound... ill = y sound).Anyway, we'd come home for the Reveillon de Noel, but did not eat breakfast. We had oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, foie gras, lots of bread and white wine ( sorry Ron... Kinda fishy). It did not last all night. Kids were scooped up to go to bed, since Santa was coming and could not be seen... Just thought I'd share. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!!!! 🎄🎅✝️❤️ I haven’t watched the video yet, but I just wanted to quickly tell you guys how much I love your channel and how much you guys truly mean to me! I’ve been a viewer of Early American for at least a year now, and then about 6 months ago got into what was going on over here at Frontier Patriot. You guys have VERY quickly become my comfort channel! As someone who is in their early 20s, has tattoos, colored hair, piercings and is non religious you might think I would look at your guys channel and go “no way, not for me!” But I relate to you guys so much, especially you Justine when you talk about your struggles with making friends, and when I watch your channels I feel like I’m hanging out with good friends! I’ve always been a big lover of history, but because of you guys I have really started to get into early American and colonial history. I might even get into reenacting someday if I build up the courage. Anyways, long story short I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate your channel & I hope nothing but good comes into your future. You’re both great people & it’s not really something I’ve said before but… God bless 😊❤️
Proud Marylander here. With so many unfortunate social issues our state is going through, there are MANY great people here. Merry Christmas to you both and if I didn't say it before, congratulations on your engagement. God bless you both and everyone here.
The black eyed pea is actually a bean, a legume. A subspecies of the cowpea. An old world plant domesticated in Africa. Says wikipedia. 😅. Merry Christmas, Joy and happiness to you both. 🙏🇮🇱🇺🇸🇺🇦🇦🇲❤
Merry Christmas! This is what I’ve learned about peas and beans… Black Eyed Peas are classified as beans though they are field peas. Pea plants plants have a hollow stem and beans have a solid stem structure. And peas are generally round whereas beans come in many sizes and shapes.
"Party hop"....I love the older Christmas carols...What Child Is This?, Silent Night, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, We Three Kings... "Sleigh bells ring...are you listenin'? In the lane snow is glistenin'...😊
I think the bean patties could use some kind of thick syrup. In Holland we eat brown beans with bacon and “stroop”. Stroop is a thick syrup from sugar beets 😋
I love the drawing at the beginning of your chew & chat tonight! Merry Christmas 🎄 I look forward to every Wednesday evening because of Early American and Frontier Patriot!!
Peas have a hollow stem, beans have a solid stem. There are other differences between specific varieties of each but that’s what it boils down to. I’m from Georgia and I”ve had pea fritters all my life. Add you a mess of greens with ham hocks and some cracklin cornbread and you have yourself a good supper!
My husband and I were at a restaurant/sports bar a couple days ago. All the tv's were showing football games. My husband then points and said "look, there are your people". I turned around and there you were up on one of the tv's. They were showing your Early American channel.
I have a CD with dance music from the George Washington time period... I think they are called minstrels.... I don't know how I ended up with the CD. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
The telling of the Midwest Christmas traditions and the simple fun of singing Christmas carols is helping children who come from divorced families in America celebrate Christmas in a joyful and relaxed way that many have probably, never experienced before, as well as including and orienting new Americans to Americas beautiful Christmas and holiday traditions, and making them feel included and less lonely as new Americans .Thank you, Ron and Justine , for doing this!
Squire Boone! There is a place at Brandensburg, KY called Doe Run Inn - now closed - which used to claim that Squire Boone discovered that area. Beautiful creek running through there. So sorry this place has closed. Pure Kentucky.
Judy Garland sang the song have your self a merry little Christmas in the move Meet me in st.Louis in 1944 the song was writen just for Judy to sing and she didn't want to but her director who she married after the movie told her to because the movie was lacking feeling and this song would fill the bill, sort to speak. Lol
Justine, your expressions and responses are just so...entertaining. You're the cutest. And you, Ron...such a gentleman. Enjoy how you interact with each other. Merry Christmas!!
I love “You Are My Sunshine.” My mom used to sing that to me when I was sad, and I sang it to my son. Makes me cry when I hear it now. Such wonderful memories. ☀️☀️🌻
As someone who is a trained singer, I love that you sing!!! Singing is so good for the soul and it doesn't matter if you're the greatest singer in the world or if you think you can't carry a tune at all :) Also, Ron smiling at Justine while she sang "You Are My Sunshine" was the sweetest! True love right there :)
My grandma had one of those chicken toys, I loved playing with it as a kid! She also used to sing "You Are My Sunshine" to me. 💞 She raised sheep and chickens (and had 2 horses), but she died of a very rare disease when I was 11. Precious memories.
Not sure about the bean patties and goose apple pie. But, you two are so cool to watch. You keep the holidays from being lonely! Have a very Merry Christmas Ron and Justine. !❤
Merry Christmas Justine and Ron! I love your cozy cabin and have really enjoyed watching both of your channels this year because you're so down to earth and fun to watch. I can't wait to see all the exciting things coming up for you guys in 2024! I also hope everyone who sees this has a wonderful holiday season and a beautiful and blessed new year!🎄🙏🏻🎉
I thought the same exact thing when you were frying the beans! The first vegetarian burger! 😂. You guys are amazing! I love your content and I enjoy watching you make food from the early days!
Well done on the "O Come All Ye Faithful". "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is my favorite as well as "Let It Snow". That one was my mom and dad's favorite song post-WW 2. To this day we sing it to her at Christmas. She's 101 years old!
I totally didn't make it for the live chat due to owning an obsolete computor. The "cold meat pie" got me thinking about a happy song by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Give MishMish some belly rubs from me. I received your high falutin' card on Dec 11. The flames on your candles are so perfect that they look fake! The little candle maker did a fantastic job.
You know, those bean patties remind me of Middle Eastern falafel. Try the spices they use in falafel and try to fry in larger amount of oil/lard. By the way, cumin goes so well with all bean/lentil dishes. Love your🧡 channels!
You guys are a blast. I agree, the first time you hear a song, it is the one you like the most. White Christmas for me was the best from the two movies with Bing Crosby, "Holiday Inn" and "White Christmas", guess I am from a different age, with different memories.. Merry Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year to you both. Be careful of those shot pieces. I bit down on a Chocolate Covered Cherry over 20 yrs ago and cracked a tooth and ended up with nerve damage that is still with me. So be careful. Love the cabin.
My bestie is sadly dying of cancer, and her granddaughter just got "you are my sunshine" tattooed on her arm as her gran sang it to her daily when see was a wee bairn. 🥲

Thank you very much. I have the hurdy gurdys and did very similar to you with a mouth organ (harmonica)! I have spent Christmas alone and your fun and games have been lovely. Bless you both.
Interesting to hear your thoughts on the bean ‘burgers’. To mine, I add Indian spices, cumin, garam masala, ginger etc and they are wonderful. Thank you for all your fantastic videos and for your efforts to preserve and celebrate our American history. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the both of you! I love your shows, the food looks delicious! That song, "You are my Sunshine", my grandmother used to sing that to us and my children.
I love y'all's lil Cabin. It looks so warm and cozy, I could almost feel the warmth emanating through my cells screen. "Merry Christmas" to you both and hope you have a very safe and prosperous New Year.

Love you guys❤❤❤ Happy Christmas and joyous New Year!!!! The major Christmas songs we all still listen to are considered the best because they came out after ww2, what was considered the “golden age” because of the victory from ww2.
I'm so glad I found your channel again! I only caught a couple of videos of yours in the past, but it was under another account, and I couldn't recall the channel names. You two have got to be the cutest couple on UA-cam who teach historical living in such a fun way. I really enjoy your chew and chat, and Im subscribed and have notifications on! Merry Christmas to you and my fellow subscribers!
Oh my goodness! I was expecting cool stories and yummy food tastings but I didn't think I'd get caroled to when I clicked this! You two are soooo fun and funny! Meeeeerrrry Christmaaaas!!!!
So much fun! I mailed my card Monday, so it will get there sooner or later. 😁 I will miss This Week In History, but I'm sure the weird history will be fun, too! Blessings to you both! 💜🌲💜 Merry Christmas!
My kind of peeps!!!!❤❤❤ I'm not surprised that you doubled the amount of cards that you got last year. Your channel is growing! I tell people about you all the time and I only found out about you this summer. I fell in love with people that actually live in different time. even the 1950s - I don't know her name but there's a woman that actually lives like it's the 1950. Or maybe she just did it for a short period of time. I'm not 100% sure because I don't want her stuff like I watch your stuff but thank you for posting this. I absolutely love it The history of Christmas cards in America is.
So, my husband's family is from Ste Genevieve MO, and some are still there on the farm. David is very familiar with La Guignolèe. As a teen 40+ years ago, he and his brother and family joined a group and went to a few venues in Bloomsdale. They dressed up in costumes, shook hands, and sang the song. David plays several versions of the song every New Years. 🎉
Love the Catholic Christmas tradition it still holds to this day. Midnight Mass at the traditional Latin Mass is at midnight which lasts for over 2 hours afterwards they gather in the church hall for a party. Christmas Day there are two masses. Our priest will have to do all masses since our associate priest is currently away assisting at another church. Merry Christmas everyone!
Thank you, Justine and Ron for sharing your cabin Christmas meal and lovely cabin decor. Chew and Chat beats any television show I would watch. I wish you both a very Merry Christmas🎄⭐🎄 and a blessed 2024🎉✨🎉! xoxo
Greetings from Montana, Ron & Justine! 😊🎄👋I was really disheartened that you still have not received my Christmas card to you both! I sent it out to you on the 11th and I put a little surprise in it for you two…I really hope that it shows up! What a bummer that Montana isn’t represented yet…. ☹ Hope you have a wonderful and blessed holiday! 😇🙏🎄❤
Ron is such a gentleman. He takes his hat off at the table before he prays.😇🙏🏼👍👱🏻♂️
Please give out your address
Thank you for the prayer at the start of your meal! So pleased to know you also know Jesus!!
Ok I must tell you I am so thankful to see you give thanks in prayer before your meal!! Do not ever give that up!! Yes Justine is a gentle lady and Ron def is a gentleman!!

Have you ever seen a candle-lit tree? It's beyond words. Trees in heaven look like that...❤❤❤
You Are My Sunshine is my favorite too. First song I learned to play on guitar when I was a little girl because it was my Grandma's favorite.
Use leftover ham and beans. Mash them add egg and flour. Then fry them you will like them
I love the prayer before the feast ❤

The $1 tax you were talking about, in that time period, $1 was about a week's wages. So it was a serious amount of money for a young, single man.
We need a whole episode of Ron just drinking milk and chatting to the camera
Merry Christmas! This is what I’ve learned about peas and beans… Black Eyed Peas are classified as beans though they are field peas. Pea plants plants have a hollow stem and beans have a solid stem structure. And peas are generally round whereas beans come in many sizes and shapes.
Thanks for singing 🎶 the old rich and fun Carols they have such meaning.
I had a chicken paddle when I was a little girl in the 1970s. They are a a great toy that will always make you smile.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas was originally from the movie Meet Me In Saint Louis with Judy Garland.
Yeah, that's why harmonica was played on the porch..in a rocking chair...at night. LoL!

When I worked in a nursing home, one of the residents use to sing you are my sunshine to me everyday.
The term is it tastes “gamey”. And that’s a good thing in my opinion. All wild game has a similar flavor. Great menu. Enjoy watching you guys so much
You know, those bean patties remind me of Middle Eastern falafel. Try the spices they use in falafel and try to fry in larger amount of oil/lard. By the way, cumin goes so well with all bean/lentil dishes. Love your🧡 channels!
I have one of the chicken pecking toys also. Have had this toy for 30 years and when it breaks, its easily fixed. So cute and so simple!

Love the cabin.
😮 Must have had the stone still in it?
How awful for you.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁😊
@@honorsilverthorne7227 It did. Merry Christmas to you too!
You two are so adorable together! Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Merry Christmas from Oregon. I live next to Oregon City which is the end of the Oregon Trail....God Bless!

Ein Frohes Fest ! And Merry Christmas you two.
Thank you Justine and Ron for the lovely Christmas card. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 😀🎄🎄🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️😊🎉🎉🎉
The meal looks good.
Historical facts:
Thomas Edison is married.
That device used for women during childbirth gave me cringe.
I didn’t know that St. Genevieve have Midnight Mass. In Latin America, we have Midnight Mass called Misa de Gallo.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reeinder is American as apple pie. Until I met my husband, I didn’t know much about American culture.
Thank you for your wishes. Have a wonderful Merry Christmas Ron and Justine. God bless both of you.
The music box sounds are so lovely. They have such a sweet tone.
Merry Christmas to you both.
I so enjoy watching your channel.
Rudolph the red nose reindeer was written as an advertisement for Montgomery Wards.
You need to add the harmonica to your "This Week In History" drumroll 😂 Merry Christmas to you both!

Thank you for mentioning the reason for the season-our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Thank you very much. I have the hurdy gurdys and did very similar to you with a mouth organ (harmonica)!
I have spent Christmas alone and your fun and games have been lovely. Bless you both.
My grandfather used to sing You Are My Sunshine to me when I was little. It made me cry remembering him.
I love the history lessons on both videos you put out for Christmas.
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card guys!!! Have a blessed holiday ❤
I love y'all's lil Cabin. It looks so warm and cozy, I could almost feel the warmth emanating through my cells screen.
"Merry Christmas" to you both and hope you have a very safe and prosperous New Year.
Merry Christmas to you both, have a safe and happy yueltide!
My father-in-law played the harmonica. He had several, as they come in different keys. He never had any sheet music, but once he knew how to use the scale, he could play along with anyone. Thank you, Justine and Ron for sharing your cabin Christmas meal and lovely cabin decor. Chew and Chat beats any television show I would watch. I wish you both a very Merry Christmas🎄⭐🎄 and a blessed 2024🎉✨🎉! xoxo

Merry Christmas and thank you for the Christmas card. It's beautiful and I will always keep it.
