  • Fishing Australian Salmon Waitpinga Beach, fishing Fleurieu Peninsula. I had a great session salmon fishing Waitpinga Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia, where I caught a few small salmon trout and a couple of pretty good sized Australian Salmon - DOUBLE HEADER no less! I have fished at Waitpinga Beach quite a few times before and never caught anything much. So I was over the moon to finally conquor this beach. So if you fishing South Australia, Waitpinga Beach on the Newland Head Conservation Park is great fishing spot. In vis video I show you how to catch Australian Salmon at Waitpinga.

    Hi there you might be wondering why I have re- released my Fishing for salmon at Waitpinga Beach video. Well I accidentally deleted it the other day! So if you can be bothered it would be great if you could watch it again and give it a like because I lost all the previous likes and comments 😪 Thanks!

      @@fishingsister All salmon trout. We got 6 which was enough for a good feed. We like the small ones as they are so tasty. Fished from around 11am to 2 pm. They took the cockles and had a couple of hits on pilchard. 3 or 4 people casting lures didn't get anything

    You should be able to get some nice ones at blowhole of the rocks at this time of year. I have found waits frustrating aswell 🙂

      @fishingsister  3 роки тому +1

      I would love to go back to Blowhole Beach. I wonder though what the track down would be like though. It was pretty rough in summer - it might be boggy after the rain? We have a 4WD but not a 'proper' one :) Have you been there this time of the year?

    • @andyfisho6410
      @andyfisho6410 3 роки тому +1

      @@fishingsister yes my favourite time to be there is winter because of the salmon and camping and being able to have a campfire. We have have a "proper" 4wd so we dont have much trouble getting down to blowhole but it can be tricky in winter and 4wd experience is handy

    Hello Fishing sister, I just started following you. Do you think I can use a salted cockles with no.6 hook and can fish at waitpinga beach? I only started fishing and loving it so far. I caught tommies, trevally, parrotfish, pufferfish, crabs, etc. and wanted to catch a salmon.

    • @fishingsister
      @fishingsister  2 місяці тому +1

      Sounds like you're doing great so far! I like to use salted pilchard to catch salmon but when they are hungry they are not that fussy apparently. I use bigger hooks like size 1.0. Good luck at Waits. It is a hard beach to fish but so beautiful 😍

      They are so much fun to catch.! The water can be very turbulent so keeping bait on your hooks us a big challenge. I tie my pilchards on! Lots of people use lures as well but I love using bait.

      Thanks! I just love Waits even though I find it hard to catch anything. I is always great just to be on that beach. I don't like to show when I break the fishes necks and bleed them because some people think it is gross :) But I agree it really helps with the taste of the fish. Thanks for your support!

      @fishingsister  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment. Waitpinga is a dangerous beach and we have been advised not to wear waders on big surf beaches in case you fall and big wave fills them up with water. However, we have recently bought some water sport thermals and will give them a go soon :)

    • @fishingsister
      @fishingsister  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks! We use fishing points app which is quite a reasonable price per year. What I like about it is you can put in the location you want to fish and see the wind direction on that beach that day. The weather seems to be the biggest success factor rather than fish activity we find. And this weekend's weather is looking great!!

    Sub'd. Great that Waitpinga finally paid off for you. What's in the berly bag, and how come it's not in the water?

    • @fishingsister
      @fishingsister  3 роки тому +1

      Whole pillies that I had had for while so not so fresh anymore in the berley bag. I usually also throw homemade berley in the water to get the smell going (just bread and curry powder mixed with a bit of tuna oil) but I don't think I had made any that day. The bag was actually in the water at one stage...
