Amazing, I bought one of these from you a few years ago as a present and would love to get another one as a present for myself! Around the second minute it cuts into the potting section and says 'that's the reason you don't want to put them in too big a pot', but doesn't actually state a reason! So I was wondering why, or how the pot size being to big can effect them?
Thanks for this video. I couldnt find a decent video about curry leaves care until I stumbled up on yours 😁. Could you please also talk about how to prune them or harvest the curry leaves ? Thanks!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. The older leaves have more flavour so you would normally harvest leaves lower down the plant and take the whole frond of leaves at a time. In terms of pruning, curry leaf plants don't normally need much pruning unless you are finding it is getting a bit tall and leggy, in which case you might consider pinching out the growing tip to make the plant branch out and become more bushy.
Good question, they just need to be kept bright and frost free. On a windowsill in a bright cool room would be fine. Try to position it away from any radiators or under floor heating and be careful not to over water and they should over winter fine :)
You can use a grow tent, but it's not really necessary even in the UK. A curry leaf plant will be happy in the home where it receives indirect sunlight - east facing window is perfect. Just make sure that the leaves aren't touching the glass in the cold or hot weather as this will damage them. They are usually dormant in the winter months in the UK, and so some customers do use a grow lamp, but they will put on lots of growth in the spring and summer when it will benefit from a winter citrus feed every other time you water. Hope this helps.
Hi thanks for the lovely video and where can I get the curry leave plants from plants ? recommend me please ? I live in London, East London, uk 🇬🇧 thanks
Hi Aisha, Glad you enjoyed the video. Sadly we've sold out of the curry leaf plants just at the moment but we will have more for sale again in the spring and you can order online here plants4presents.co.uk/curry-leaf-plant Thanks again
So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. These plants really do like sunshine. In the summer they can be a little way back from a window as long as the room is still bright but in the winter when the days are shorter it will need to be on the sunniest window sill you can find. Hope that helps.
Tip: add in supplementary lighting (growlights) during the winter. LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights are superior to HID lights (High Intensity Discharge: Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium) in many respects, and are beneficial to all plants, not just C. Indicas and C. Sativas! Check out a video on youtube: "Tropical Fruit Plants Grown Under Black Dog LED". Fed up with hot Metal Halide growlights burning the foliage of my containerised humidity-loving cinnamon and coffee shrubs, I have recently switched over to LEDs. I am having good results with the budget-priced 'Kingbo' brand of LED, bought from Amazon. Another good LED brand if you are on a budget is 'Mars Hydro'. Look on Ebay and Amazon. Beware that there are cheap China-made LEDs on Ebay that are totally and utterly useless, as they seem to be nothing more than the low-power LEDs used in Christmas lighting. But, if you have the spare cash, by all means go for a Black Dog LED. I would in an instant if I could afford one!
I'm sorry these plants are always popular and I think they were sold out when you looked last time. however we do have some nice young plants available now online at plants4presents.co.uk/curry-leaf-plant

We have a scale infestation on our three year old plant. What is the best method to clear them?
How can I care for it during the winter when the temperature is low? I want to get one but I am afraid it will end up dying. Thank you
