- Pseudo Echo are an Australian New Wave band formed in 1982 in Melbourne. The original line-up consisted of Brian Canham (vocals, guitars and keyboards), Pierre Gigliotti (as Pierre Pierre) (bass guitar, keyboards), Tony Lugton (guitars and keyboards) and Anthony Argiro (drums). A later line-up included James Leigh (keyboards) and his brother, Vince Leigh (drums). In the 1980s, Pseudo Echo had Australian top 20 hits with "Listening", "A Beat for You", "Don't Go", "Love an Adventure", "Living in a Dream" and their cover of "Funky Town", which peaked at No. 1 in 1986. In 1987, it reached No. 1 in Canada and New Zealand, No. 6 in United States and No. 8 in United Kingdom.
This is a great version.

Best song of one of the greatest surf films ever! Kiani was my childhood crush!
What a great frikken voice!
Love the funk out of this song. One of my favourite 80s songs.
I can truly say a really did grow up a Pseudo Echo fan , as we all grew up together , they went to Noble Park High school and I went to Noble Park Tech just across the road , and remember one of their very first gigs at Springvale Town Hall
Classic 80's pop rock/new wave style mixed sound in this newer version.
1984 Shakin' now this is what you call Real 80's Hit's the 80's Rock is the Real Deal.
❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant. Changed the song up a bit. I like it, along with the original release.
Love this band great Aussie 80s!!!
Filmed at the same session as their Funky Town video. Obviously this slicker 1987 version was specially made to appeal to the USA market.
Totally awesome!
Ah, the North Shore...what a classic 80's movie?! Long live Turtle and the howlees! LoL
Oh memory's love my era!!!!!
they still rock it with new stuff making a comeback but they never really left
This must have been re-released due to the success of Funky Town.

I like this version way better than the original.
Way better version than the goofy original.

North shore film 🤌🤌🤌🤩🤩
Actual hair on brian's head. How bout that?
I'm Australian
The original made them too-obvious depeche mode ripoffs. I'm glad they came to their senses and reinvented this into a killer version, much better.
Original version was better.
Andrew Bondarenko . No it wasnt .sorry. this one is better.
I agree. The original was 100% synth pop, whereas this is more of a rock version.
This sucks . Bring back the new wave band, this looks like a bunch of jocks took over what used to be a cool band.
Ummm excuse me they are the original band members. If you can’t appreciate, buzz 🐝 off .
