    Call it a hunch, but I think it's because it's a company built upon kindness. A lot of Hololive members were in pretty miserable situations, their stories all got better because of kindness from Suisei's tough climb to Kson's bed money. And when that same level of kindness is shared to others, more can grow.

    Nice to see Moshu getting traction now. I watched her just a teeny tiny bit in early 2023 because she had Bocchi The Rock watchalongs, like many other indie vtubers.
    Tbf, she was just one of many I watched, but her volume slider hair is kinda memorable.
    For our Omaru Polka shouting out Luca Polka (now graduated), Maple has a video aptly named "Polka and Polka's Ring Fit Adventure". The video shows a tweet of Polpol calling Luca Polka the original Polka because she debuted earlier in the year. Not indie, but small enough that VGeneration doesn't exist anymore and I never really knew about them either. Omaru Polka would also sometimes tweet (or at least receive tweets from? my memory is hazy) her Vsister Hinokami Hikone who used to be part of Axel-V, but has since gone indie after Axel-V went under.

    Very cool to catch all these moments! I think for the EN branch Kiara has really done a good amount of collabs with indies considering how she’s been interviewed at Dokomi (German anime convention) by a vtuber and did some panels with German speaking vtubers at the event. She’s also collabed with other smaller vtubers who were in a small corpo (although that talent has graduated and become an indie vtuber). She’s also collabed with Utano Pandora who’s an indie to simply talk about idols which was very wholesome

    This is turning out to be a pattern. Being friggin' burned to a crisp by toxic streamers and all their shit-talking and controversies from a certain company, and then getting healed by holomem with just so many heart0warming stories of positivity.

    • @lyravain6304
      @lyravain6304 10 місяців тому +16

      Thing is, even when Kurosanji members meet indies (the VERY FEW TIMES this happens), they're so strangled by their corp overlords, they can't provide any actual help or support to the people they just collabed with. By comparison, Hololive's looser rules and constant support and permissions they give means that it's easier for a Hololive talent to spontaneously do a surprise like this. This makes it feel more genuine and heartfelt, which is all you really need.
      Becuase, yes, if Pomu or Selene dropped into a game a random Vtuber was playing and went "hey, support this indie", it would also be extremely hype for that indie. But Kurosanji just... doesn't let them do it. It chokes them out.

      @@lyravain6304 god, it's so strange (in a good way) for holo to be referred to as the 'looser' one, when after many years we always say that holo is too strict 😂

    • @lyravain6304
      @lyravain6304 10 місяців тому +1

      @@agathamayra5045 Hololive is very strict in some things (no cussing for instance, no outright lewdness [until Coco anyway] and other cases). They do enforce a more stereotypical 'idol-culture' than Nijisanji.
      But beyond that, they're fairly loose. Subaru made YAGOO, by mispronouncing his name, TO HIS FACE, during her INTERVIEW. And Yagoo... ran with it. He encouraged it.
      To translate from Japanese culture to English culture, that would be the same as someone making a yo mamma joke, to your face, at their interview. Or a DEEZ NUTS joke. Not exactly professional, you know? And yet, Yagoo, being the gigachad he is, took it, rolled with and when it became a meme, he rode the meme-wave.
      He could have just as easily refused Subaru. He could have choked out Coco's... Coco-ness. He didn't.
      Hololive has rules, a LOT of them. Lest we forget, they kinda cracked down on Mori and her drinking, for instance. But outside their rules, talents are free to do as they please and, even if they're skirting with the rules, they are given a lot of leeway.
      Can you imagine Tazumi's reaction if an Amelia-like had said anything about 'ground pounding his mom'?!

    Awesome video. There is something special about The Hololive community when they do this. There are so many streamers, vtubers, content creators, i found because of their love of Hololive. Many i found because they played HoloCure, reacted, created art, and other things.
    I love you highlighting these moments you found, remembered. Yes there are more, but who can cover all these moments. There are dozens upon dozens. So again amazing job covering this.
    I think for some, if not all, of Hololive Talents, they all started out small before joining Hololive. Hell, Sora and early gens had to work so hard to get noticed. Sora herself had the Christmas Miracle that boost her subs all those years ago. Suisei and Miko had to struggle before they got their boost and increase in subs. So for them, it is important to recognize the smaller streamers/vtubers.
    Like i said before, i have discovered many because of Hololive. Because Hololive member is their oshi, like Ame is for Peo, all of Myth is for Tetel, Oren the orange cat loves Hololive, and still so many.
    Keep the positive vibes and love going. One last time, enjoyed the video. Take care!!

    Just came from commenting on Moshu's latest post. Only know about her because of that incident with Botan. Nothing at all in vtubing makes me happier than stories like these where people working hard get a shot at realizing their dreams because of an act of kindness. Plus, there's something to be said for having a small vtuber you enjoy read your comments occasionally, compared to trying to get Miko to notice you while a 30k-strong chat flies by at the speed of light. I'd honestly enjoy being more exposed to people at that level if I knew how.

    If you ever want to make part 2 of this video, I think Ollie is the most deserved to be added on the list. She is the most supportive holomember I know (at least for me).
    She always gives shout out to every content creator (vtuber, youtuber, artist, etc) who visited her stream. When she noticed, she will always say "Give it up to (insert content creator name here)" in every single stream she had, no matter how small they are.
    She also invited 50+ guest in her 2021 birthday totsumachi stream, consist of some holomembers and a lot of small vtubers (indie & agency). In her 2022 birthday stream, she did karaoke with a lot of small vtubers to introduce their talent into thousands viewers there.
    Ollie is also one of holomember who always support small artist by retweeted their fanarts or at least gives like on twitter.
    And there is more that I can't describe it all in here.

      As previous comment said, she's on hiatus. She and her UA-cam channel will be back in April with some "good news"

    • @hikarishini
      @hikarishini  10 місяців тому +1

      They did help a lot. Kronii-Vesper being the most popular collab that boosted Holostars popularity to EN audience. Also noticably Ollie - Astel, Kobo - Ragus, Roberu - Suisei did support each other.
      But Holostars is arguably the biggest male VTuber group after Nijisanji (JP side), I don't think they are small VTuber at all.
