I never even heard or seen this HKS EVO 9. Sweet. We never get special editions only RS and MR and regular EVO
I've had a couple of 5s but always wanted an 8 or 9 variant. The 9GT was my goal.
If youre in the market for an FQ360 buy one without the "By HKS" badge. It was a marketing ploy, the FQ360 without the badge is basically identical apart from different wheels, ever so slightly lower but otherwise identical suspension and "uprated speakers" which you spec from new anyway. The MR badge used to mean something on the 8's but the 9 has all the additional things such as aluminium roof as standard anyway. The biggest thing the MR differs from the none MR is seats... Oddly the car in this doesnt have the MR seats? The none stupidly "MR HKS" badged FQ360s are cheaper to buy than the badged up ones so people buy the badges and fake them being HKS because the wording doesnt appear on the V5. Good review though. Best Evo they made! Once you drive one, you'd understand.
Cheers for this info. Looking to buy one. The one I’m looking at says it’s HKS, but has recaro seats and is a jap import. So wouldn’t be a HKS right? Tia
I love my 06 EVO IX, grabbed it new with 3 miles on it. Had no idea it would be considered a unicorn in the future. I will say the car always puts a smile on my face when driven. Thanks for the clip and reminders of how great the car is 🙏🏼
did you upgrade the power? or you love it stock
The EVO VII GTAs and I think the IX wagons come with the chrome interior door handles. Just FYI.
The FQ360 none MR HKS does too.
I’ve never owned an evo and I’m sure there all amazing but a hks 9 is definitely my favourite 😍

Love my 9, I’ve got a FQ340
My Evo 9 makes a rotational sound when on throttle at speeds of 60-80 then sometimes a very low pitch whines sound at about 15-23 mph 😢

No, identical to the "none HKS". None HKS is also hard piped with HKS pipes etc too. The "by HKS" badging was a marketing ploy. Very few people realise this.
road tax on the evo 9 is way high compared to the 8 ,such a scam

If you can find an early 9 you can get it within the cheaper tax bracket
