I think for verbal reasoning it’s much easier if you read the question first then search the text for the answer rather than trying to memorise it all for when u read the question

I’m planning on joining the RAF Regiment, I applied a few years ago but failed the AST by a few marks, maths really is my weak point, on the practice test online what would be considered a pass mark for RAF Reg ?
Hey Jack, the practice online test on the RAF website, in my opinion, is way easier than the actual test. I'm sorry, you failed the first time, but just try again and you'll get it, provided you prepare well enough. after my test, I was told the pass mark was 40 RAF Regiment (gunner).

Hey Saul, I really understand. I went through that exact same feeling. I would say, just take some notes with you and revise just before you enter, so that the information is fresh in your head. Don't panic and answer as many questions as you can. You'll make it through. ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR RAF CAREER. Also make sure you know the technical terms and keywords, especially for electrical and mechanical. Hi Amir, thank you for the feedback. My role was actually undecided since the photographer role got taken off. I had taken my AST but didn't meet the score for some roles. The roles I qualified for didn't suit me, so I had taken my pursuit else where. I wish you all the best for your AST in August, you've got time, so make sure you do plenty of mock tests. Try and get as many questions right as you can to bump your average. Don't spend too much time on one question. Take care and good luck. Hi mate The RAF doesn't give specific scoring details, I sat my ast in July and it's all marked on an iPad and your scores are generated. You'll get a list of all roles you score for, my advice to you is do your best and get the highest score possible More score = more choice = no dissapointment
@@brh9262 sat the ast a week or two ago, very challenging and I didn’t score high enough for any roles, got the resit in a few weeks going get as much maths practice as I can in do get the score for the role I want 👍🏻
I had the Ipad version too, I spent way too much time in the verbal. Yes you get the score of the roles at the end, the minimum was 40 i think, below that you wouldn't qualify for any role in the RAF, according to what my AFCO said at the end. You're right about choice, but other factors such as GCSE's also matter for certain roles.
@@EFCtalk all the best to you mate I found the ast difficult, but an hour or two per day on different topics saw me pass with a very good score With time and dedication you will make it, bitesize GCSE maths was all I used for the maths and that was enough

I personally didn't end up joining, but the roles are based on the score you get (if it still works that way).
