    I recently purchased the SX700 keyboard. It is superb! I did own the SX900 between 2019 and 2021. I seriously struggled with it and eventually donated it to Charity. I don't recall it sounding as good as the SX700 but that MAY have been down to Mr. Enjoy!

    Thanks for this nice video. How do the buttons and keyboard action feel ? Are they sturdy, noisy ? On previous models it was feeling really cheap and low quality... and with a few months of experience, how to you feel now ?

    • @Danboarding

      HI there and thanks for checking out the video. The keyboard of this instrument is one of the best, in my opinion. I've previously owned a PSR-E series, a PSRS-670 and rented a PSRS-975 for a number of months. I can rank the quality of the keyboard of the PSR-SX700 at the very top in my experience of using it since I got it last February. They are very sturdy, yes. As for noise, I only notice a tiny bit when I happen to hit keys with my fingernails, but barely noticeable. The buttons on this particular model has a rubber texture to it, so it picks up dust and and maybe dead skins from my very dry hands, LOL! They can look unsightly after a few weeks of use, but once I wipe them off with a slightly damp clothe, then they look brand new once more. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions about it.

    • @Danboarding

      Hi there. I don't think so. I have an iPad that's years and years old and it is still working perfectly. Besides, it's not all touch screen with this keyboard. There are still redundant buttons in it so you can choose to use buttons or the touch screen. The touch screen just makes it really easy to input text, say, when naming a registration memory.

    It’s an excellent instrument and I might get my hands on one of these for portable use when I go out performing at day groups and other. I already proudly own a stunning Genos for use at home and as the Genos has the same as a stunning 900 but more features, I would appear pointless purchasing the 900 though yes all models are excellent including the previous models.

    I want to buy a more up to date arranger keyboard as my Yamaha PSR-295 is starting to show it's
    age and the light grey on it is quite badly discoloured which is why I prefer black keyboards to
    light grey/silver. Although I originally had my sights set on a Tyros 2 or one of the newer Tyros
    keyboards I'm seriously considering the PSR-SX700 because it's cheaper and more compact.

    • @Danboarding
      @Danboarding  2 роки тому +2

      The PSR-SX700 is relatively new as well, and you will get the modern feature such as the touch screen interface. I hope you come to a best buying decision soon, good luck!

    • @LittleRichard1988
      @LittleRichard1988 2 роки тому +2

      @@Danboarding I won't be buying an arranger keyboard after all partly because there's no point in buying it just for
      midi sequencing if I'm not going to use the auto accompaniments ( I honestly suck at playing live ). Also as I have
      resigned from work I can't justify spending money on something I don't need. The PSR-295 is still an acceptable
      keyboard for arranging public domain songs like Christmas carols and it's still a good learning tool.

      Hi Jay. The sound volume is probably as loud as the S975, which means it will need an amplifier to fill a room with sound. I have tried it with a room full of people (around 12' x 12") and I am at 3/4 full and the it sounded okay.

      Hello Kabayan! Yung pinakamalaking advantage ng SX700 dun sa S975 eh yung touch screen interface. Mas madaming styles and voices yung S975. Ang katumbas na bagong model nung S975 eh yung SX900, pero sobrang mahal kaya etong SX700 na lang ang kinuha ko (katumbas nito yung lumang S775). Pero yung touch screen talaga ang nagpursigi sa akin na bilin ito, kasi mas madali pumili ng options and items, kumpara sa S975 na kailangang mag-rely ka sa multiple button pressings para maka choose ng options.

      It did took me a while to figure out how to play any of Yamaha's PSR series keyboards. I think I found a bit of success by just sticking it out with the basic piano at the start, then gradually going over the user manual to figure out how to do other stuff such as adding rhythms and such. Having all those buttons and features can be quite overwhelming, but since you cannot return it back to the store maybe give it another chance and just stick with the piano at first. Good luck!

It is the arranger keyboard that I’ve always wanted and I am very happy that I own one! Of course, it would be double the pleasure if I had a Genos like yours! Maybe down the road, once I have saved enough to be able afford one, I would definitely get a Genos. For portability, yes, the SX700 is good and I can imagine better than brining a beast of an instrument as a Genos.. I bought a really good carrying case for it so it would be easy to bring along as the unit is a bit heavy, say compared to the PSR E series. I rented out the Yamaha S975 and it has more voices than the SX700. The SX700 is like the S775, the lower model of the S-range, in a way. I chose to to go with the SX700 because it is the latest model, and I like the touch screen LCD better, which the S975 or S775 does not have. The S975 is still a good choice if you can find one second-hand at a good price, but if you want the latest, then the SX range would be a good choice too. I hope that helps.

      The S775/S975 are still great, especially the S975. If you can live without the touch screen feature, then they are really good alternatives if you can find one at a very low price. I've owned an S670 and I remember how it is a chore sometimes to work on it and wishing it had a touch screen. @Danboarding  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there! I think the SX700 matches up really well with the older S975. They both have two 15W speakers. The top-of-the-line SX900 has two 15W plus another two 10W speaker, so that model probably sounds even better. During my brief time renting the S975, I find the sound quality to be really good, especially compared to my old PSR-S670. I can say that this SX700 sounds better not only because it has much newer hardware, but also the ability to layer 3 voices for the right hand compared to only 2 on the S975 makes it sound even better! I also find those with super articulation such as guitar voices to sound even better as well. If I had to choose between an S975 and this one, I will surely go for the SX700. I may be missing some styles and voices and the ability to vocal harmonize using a plugged-in microphone, but so far things are working well for me and I can feel that I have barely scratched the surface in using this instrument. Hope that helps!

      @@Danboarding thanks for detailed reply, I'm planning to get sx700 (my 1st Yamaha keyboard) so wanted to know that if it has more refined & realistic instrument sounds than s975.

      @@MrLeo3D Good choice! If you are okay with probably a hundred less styles and voices and don't need the vocal harmonizer and chord looper of the top-of-the-line SX900, then the SX700 is a great instrument! It's a thousand dollars less than the SX900, so I think it's a better deal, which was why I bought one myself.

Coincidentally, I have modified some styles to create my own. It is not a style from the ground up, but hopefully it will be one that you are looking for. I will see if I can make a video. If not, please check out Jeremy See's UA-cam Channel. Here's his video on how to edit styles to be able to create your own: ua-cam.com/video/2_Z53aCxMKU/v-deo.html&t

    Hey, can i split the bass line on this keyboard. I’m struggling on mine.

    • @Danboarding
      @Danboarding  4 роки тому +1

      I am not sure, but you can try to set right 1 as bass, then right 3 as bass, then go to Menu and choose "Split & Fingering". Hold down right 3 button and press the key where you want to split the keyboard. It will be three octave higher, though, so I am not sure if that is how you would want it. Apologies if my answer was not correct, I hope you can find a solution elsewhere.

      Hi there! Yes, they do sound very good. Along with the guitar voices, they are "Super Articulated", meaning the sound can be varied depending on how hard or soft the keys are played.

    Just come across your YT Channel. And I was soooo happy cause we are KABABAYAN.
    Im based here in USA. Any email that i can use for future concern..?? of corz it will be in Tagalog..
    To start with, I was so motivated by all YT posting regarding YAMAHA keyboards arranger.
    Right now Im just doing a past time playing with my grand daughter Toy Casio keyboard run by a 4 AA batteries.. hehehe. And I thought I would be more serious on play a keyboard and fortunately PSR Series like Yours was my bet. though Im just a beginner, and learn the key A-G from the toy we got..
    However, If you may, I may ask you to be my personal tutor on this matter. On how to play like you, And how to mix-max the setting or registry of voices and tempo etc etc etc..

      Hello, Kabayan! Mabuhay ka! You may send a personal message via UA-cam by going to my Channel and choosing "About" on the homepage of the Channel. Yes, this PSR Yamaha would be a nice starting arranger keyboard. I was actually planning on creating a tutorial series for it but just could not find the time. Here's a tutorial of a worship song that you may want to try out: ua-cam.com/video/pdHfe2rYiOg/v-deo.html

    Did you noticed that it have bad touchscreen quality, bad response, graphic stutters? Today every cheapest smartphone have touchscreen better than this! Shame on Yamaha!
    And also very bad quality of main encoder (value selector in the right of touchscreen), with non- touch-responsable positions

      I think most of the digital keyboards are a tiny bit noisy. I noticed it with mine, especially when playing in low volumes, but I've become used to it. The touch screen works fine with me, though the small size of the screen can make choosing options a bit of a challenge at times. I was quite happy with the Yamaha during the time that I owned it.

    • @blueterminal7495
      @blueterminal7495 2 роки тому

      Why was that not good for you? It works perfectly fine when i tried using an SX900. The only two gripes i have is that its small so it gives me a bit hard time to select icon type stuff that was too small, Then there is the angle of the LCD screen that is imperfect because i cant see the below end of the screen. UI is good but also they've used big pictures instead of the typical icons which makes it dreadful. There is no problem in the screen apart from these.
