"Last thing I just want to make sure it's right dead center" Looks at tv on wall while it's not centered "Beautiful on the wall looks likes a art piece"
Ok so a while back at apples WWDC event for IOS 7 Donald, Molly and Brian were answering questions. Someone asked does Donald have legs or is he like a Cnet Robot or something. The answer was never directly answered and I have been on the lookout ever since. I am here to say he does in dear have legs and I am glad I watched this video to see that. Thank you Donald
Home Depot has a two gang cut-in box that has one side for high voltage (120 volts) and the other side for low voltage (cable, HDMI, etc.). It would be a violation of the National Electrical Code to have the power cord fished inside the wall. You can come out of the receptacle that you plugged the tv into, and fish some romex in the wall. Then install a decorator style receptacle, a low voltage sleeve, and a two-gang plate.
I know this video had some parts sped up because it took me days to install my tv wall mount years ago even though much of that had to do with me installing it onto a wall without looking for any studs lol.. I may be able to install others now real easy if next time i check and position where the studs are.. Good Job
I've turned to UA-cam for the answer I can't find anywhere (maybe for good reason): I'm moving into a new place; the landlord already installed a 47-75 inch tv mount; I'm bringing an almost-new 43-inch. Any hope of adapting, or am I destined to hit the "mount store?" Thanks in advance, folks.
Cnet constantly harp on about going as big as you can, yet this TV appears way too small for the viewing room. Plus, why would I want to mount an LCD so high, above my line of sight, which will diminish the screen's image quality? Why does Cnet mount TVs too high in all their videos? An LCD will only look its best if you're DIRECTLY in front of it (vertically and horizontally). What kind of "experts" are you Cnet?
There's no furniture in that room what so ever. How do know the line of sight is too high? How do you know what the TV will be used for? If it's for a living room yes its too high but if its for an office for example or somewhere with high seating (man cave perhaps) its a good height.
a tv mounted at the proper veiwing height looks stupid on a wall. Mount it high like this one but use a tilted wall mount to angle it down to the perfect viewing angle
Recently tried to do this and the screws just kept turning and I was on the stud and used a smaller drill bit than the screw and it still wants to turn
By the mistake of tv technician, the above two holes are drilled incoherent.. so now the tv is tilted downward of around 1.5cms.. will it cause any internal or external damage to tv... Plz anyone reply with correct information 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Not to sound bad but that's not a great job. First of all from experience You should never trust the built in level because they aren't accurate what so ever. Also you never measured if it's center with the wall and also you never put an outlet behind the tv to hide the ugly power cord.
Donald you mounted your tv way to high. Your suppose to seat down on your sofa and mount it eye level to where your sitting. Mounting it to high will hurt your neck because your constinly looking up.
Not true. For most people it might be a little low. People tend to slouch on their chaises or recline with their recliners if watching TV for extended periods, such as viewing sports or movies. Where does that put your field of vision? Up near the ceiling wall juncture. This too high nonsense might have had some validity when your average TV was a 32" flatscreen, but today 65" is an average size and viewing distances tend to be farther. Of course distance plays a role here but I suspect most people aren't sitting 4 feet from their 65" TV. I would recommend the bottom of a 65" TV hung at a minimum of 4 feet if you view at a distance of 12'. The farther the viewing distance, the higher you should mount the TV. I view a 55" in the bedroom at a distance of 15' and it is hung with the screen bottom almost 5 feet from the floor. In the living room , my TV is mounted with the top about 6 inches below the ceiling with a viewing distance of about 15 feet. Most of my viewing is in a reclined position. I have designed and installed Home Theaters and have been in the business in one form or another for 35 years.
Meanwhile, the rest of us tryna figure out how to mount a 65” LED/OLED TV into a 25” deep by 38” wide TV/AVR cubby hole above our fireplaces 🥴 Also that $30.00 mount rips... it’s playing the wall like butter 🧈 play toast 👎🏽😂👎🏽
Not necessarily, if your installing into a space where you have specific area to fit into then yes. But if its the only thing on that wall your fine. Factor in distance to couch, and how you have your neck positioned while relaxing. That is where the height matters, and above all it was level !!!
I've not seen one vid yet that explains how to screw safely into the back of the tv.
@@thatkidmingming7390 At last I can hang my tv 😉 jk, of course.

Yo can you come over to my house man you made it look so easy
Thankyou for this so resourceful and informative
great video and tutorial. Thanks!
you don't necessarily need a wall stud. .you can use 1/4 molly anchors .never had a call back for a tv falling off the wall.
How do you mount the braces onto the back of the tv? You screw the screws into the tv? That's what it looks like bit that cant be right?
Yes it is
Cant you just glue or tape the TV to the wall
Ismail Amin it would probably fall
please try
I did same for my TV. Used 3M double side tape. It worked awesome !!. You can try.
Got damn you are stupid to ask that question
ahhh hahahah
Wow, can’t believe u laid the tv face first on the floor.
Need to put a wall plate at the back to conceal the wires.

Does the screws for the bracket on back of TV come in the box or does it need special screws?
good job Donald
Nice video! Do more!
You didn't measure it to be centered from the middle of the wall...
how big is the tv? That looks like the perfect size for my kids room.
Did you take any screws out the tv to get the braces on the tv
Great video, now do a video to hide those tacky wires. :-)
Good video , I wonder how many people have dropped and broken their tv's trying to attempt this xD
Thank you
I would have checked that the new wall mount fit the TV before drilling!
Great vid!!
What is the tool you used to screw in the lag bolt
The stud finder works for metal and wood ?

If you watch TV standing up, it'd be fine. Other than that, the position is stupid, especially for an LCD.

too bad you can't to anything about the ugly wire:/
soccerstar2468G Yes u can 😃

What are studs?
Can this work with the Samsung 55RU8000?
What happened to Donald Bell?
good job

How about d height. What is d ideal height?

now, find the gap between the studs and run the cords
I was unable to do this because every time I hold the God damn stud finder it's going off like crazy no matter where I am standing
Flex tape is the universal solution
Should have done a (How to hide the cable video) no point having a wall mount with a ugly cable uunderneath
wrong - i want to mount my tv to avoid knock over from pets. i'm not hung on a cord.
Shut your mouth, women
Hey that's one of those TV's that shut itself off randomly.
this dude really used a skate tool to fasten the bolts lol
Scotch tape and Elmer’s glue will do the trick
What height? What about that ugly power cord?
Donald ... who? Donald Duck?
Nooo 3:36 am on WED, 04/22/W/2020
What about hiding the wires

i agree with the last part...the cord ruins the whole setup.
other then that, not bad! great job

manifest 73 maybe hes gonna add a bed there, its much better to watch lying down if the tv is pretty high :)

I got a new new 📺 4 months ago & they are not that heavy 😐 WED, 04/22/20 at 25¢ till 🕓am
That a half ass how to.....the TV is to high !! That's the biggest mistake EVERYONE DOES !!
Takavor Vardig it’s not high at all.its not even higher than him.
Major fail...you have to put braces on back of tv before placing mount on the wall to determine height....

Real men use gas powered drills :-)
The wires though, someone should make a vid abt that
