Love the commentary videos. I really appreciate the short summary of the matchup at the end as I feel some of the previous commentary videos had ended abruptly (especially those by Jackson/Clyde) lol
I watched this live and I definitely think that the Doffy player got into his own head and started to overthink as soon as he played the Perona at around 08:35. On this turn, he has 2 attackers on board, Shanks has 2 lives left and 1 don active for Rad Beam. The best line would, in my view, have been to test the waters with a 6k law swing to see what the other player does and then decide how to play it out based on that. If he takes, then you just search with Perona, play Jinbe --> Weevil and swing 13k at life to get them to zero while establishing a fairly safe 6k body. If he rad beams a 6k, you probably then put 4 under Sengoku to swing a second 6k, and follow this up with a 9k at life to, once again, get him down to 0. I also think that playing Jinbe ---> Weevil for 7 to draw a Law which you can then hard play to bounce Sengoku could also have worked, but would've given the Shanks a lot more room to breathe; another possibly decent play would be to draw moria off Weevil and develop it last to grab a 2k counter or Teach, and then draw 4c Law next turn so that you have a way to bounce a Lucky Roo. Playing Doffy can be tough sometimes because you can do alot of imaginative stuff with his tools but sometimes the simple play is the best one.
At 10:29 wouldn't it be optimal to just put the moria on top -> swing 9k with lead + ability -> recycle the jinbe in trash -> play jinbe into weevil -> not swing with law and force the opponent to attack your life/moria and go big the following turn? This would deny playing the shanks because he needs the 1 don for rad beam and is already low on handcards.
Interesting line, possibly good but 9k is blockable with leader effect + Rad Beam, so the Shanks would've ended the turn at 2 lives and I think you really want them to be as near to zero as you can get them. I don't think that playing Moria in this situation was really the call, leader effect allows you to develop another Jinbe Weevil on the board which cycle the brick out of hand, a 6k on the field to pressure next turn, and allows you to use the rest of the free Don to keep pushing life. The Moria play really restricts what you can reasonably do with the rest of your don which means you either swing for 7k (leaving you with only 2 don free to put on the law to pressure life), or 8k (leaving you with 1 don free to pressure life).
I love to start my day by watching yapping w/ Yonas!
Yapping w yonas is my favorite UA-cam series

Yonas got the best commentary absolutely goated teacher
Half the time I did not understand what the Doffy player was doing, he just gave it away
Really good analysis!
