It's part of a series of six etudes called "Grandes études de Paganini", composed for the piano by Franz Liszt - based on the original compositions of Niccolo Paganini for violin. This particular song (Étude No. 6 in A minor) is based on the Paganini's "Caprice No. 24 in A minor".
very nice, especially the octaves. when i played this piece, i had trouble with the variations that had lots of octaves. I really like the way you play it. it sounds very clean.
thomasdaggett: this isn't grade school, and you have no right to order anybody around. We don't have to be able to play as well as somebody to comment intelligently on the quality of a performance. That said, this is one of the better performances of this that I've heard.
this is the ultimate form of musicianship.....what a pianist he is ....nicole paganini must be watching this from heaven and saying ...ohh man u just played it so well.
Chopin, although he lived only for 39 years, managed to compose music as grandiose and poetic as Liszt's music, sometimes even better . I really wonder what he could have composed if he lived longer.
I dont know what kind of people are sending such a lame comments. If all commentators are such a great pianists please send us yours recordings and we will happily compare them . In my opinion it s great piece of work done ....congrats
Very good. I'm learning this piece right now and i hope that I can refine it to the level you have broughten this piece. However, if I had one thing to say to help you improve a little, you might want to hold out those quarters in the 7th variation a little longer, but other than that, Bravo!
well played, Very precise, although I must agree on some of Aldebussy's comment, which is that the piece needs a bit more bounce, Alothough then again it was still a fantastic performance, considering the technical and physical dificulty required to even play the piece.
Extremely impressive, technically doubtless, correct dynamics and interpretation. Perfect:) PS Just out of pure curiosity, are you in some way relative to the Romanovs House, or is it just coincidence?
Chopin's Etudes and Liszt gives me different impressions. Chopin's etude has really aimed for studies, such as Op.25 no.6, for double third tr. but Liszt's gives me an impression of showing off....
people talk about what they can do, one thing is to play a piece like, note by note, another thing is to play it fluently with feeling and a broad dynamic usage and have the right wave of a tempo that pulses correctly. i have heard people who can pull off nice techniques and play something fast etc etc, but their musical ear is dead and they kill the piece.
i completely agree. mind you, his rather hastey exit off the stage was a bit stupid. Wouldnt you stand there and take in what you just did...all that hard work, and he walks off the stage after a wimpy little bow...gosh, seriously. I mean, he doenst need to get all stuck up abuot himself, but he should of at least felt good about himself for completing such a marvelous feat.
lotta pedal. 3:03 should be a little faster. no repeat at 3:22? its pretty good overall but it could be better. it gets really good around the last 130. 4 stars out of 5
I can play the first 5 seconds and I feel proud for that.

Wow its been 4 years and this is still my favorite interpretation of this piece

All these years later, still my favorite interpretation on UA-cam
this is the ultimate form of musicianship.....what a pianist he is ....nicole paganini must be watching this from heaven and saying ...ohh man u just played it so well.

Du Liszt comme on aimerait en entendre souvent.
J'attends la suite avec impatience.
Merci pour la vidéo.
Brilliant performance 👏
@chayansen Paganini was a violinist. Lizst wrote out variations on his violin solo for piano.
I'm waiting for the day... I could play pieces like this!
Incredible play!
Beautifully played! Liszt would be proud!

just finished watching all 6.. excellent work. i agree with miso id love to see you do the transcendentals. bravo sir..
Sorry, I havn't understood you. I play all 6 etudes without breaking them and then Schubert's in the same concert without breaking too.
Are you franz liszt?u play so good.
Your playing is exceptional!!
I dont know what kind of people are sending such a lame comments. If all commentators are such a great pianists please send us yours recordings and we will happily compare them . In my opinion it s great piece of work done ....congrats
This is crazy. In the good sense, of course :)
paganini 6 rules big time!

He is just great
Bravo Dmitrij!!!!!!
Amazing rhythm
I like this piece.and it's very interesting performance
This guy is a beast! He motors out of there after he finishes
love the use of the pedal in the opening.
He´s something like a machine...no dynamics
fantastico, esta muy bien interpretada la obra, me a gustado muxo
Wow, he plays it effortlessly...
out of this world!

Jaw dropping awesome.

wow very very gentle
Very Well PLayed! Liszt is really hard to play... I've played a lot of his Hungarian Rhapsodies, I haven't even touched his studies

The best i'v never see...
yeah, true that. They're pretty full on.
WHAAAAAAAAAAT IS THIS
I'm so jealous. I wish I can play it that fast and make it look that easy....
He mastered the Liszt Utudes
damn arent you special. really out of the ordinary, you are. modest too. I bet youre the best 12 year old pianist in the world.
Extremely impressive, technically doubtless, correct dynamics and interpretation. Perfect:)
PS

Good shit man! I wish to play at your level by the time I'm 35. I'm 30 now
@ufoghinos Got that right! The music is perfect.
Great job.
I totally agree with you.
But I heard @addeex1 saying he can reach a 11th, and I wanted to let him know he isnt the only one.
eccellente...10 e lode...
Very fine.
I love your play
amazing
32 var in C minor is one of my favs! I will out for your vid!
i feel the same, this piece was original a caprice, it should be yrical.
We got a badass in the house.
I would too if I just went through half a dozen Liszt Etudes.
I want to be able to play this
Ah yes, the simplified version.
LazarkGaming It's anything but easy though...
very accurate play.
better piece than the campanella imo

Complete!
Huge hands!
paganini to liszt...
perfect.
im not quite there yet, but me too :(
Perfection
Davvero complimenti.
Per pacere a me Liszt signiica che allora lo suona davvero bene!
so do i, i bought his cd
also look up Alexander Lubyantsev, incredible power and accuracy
He sure got out of there in a hurry
WOnderful!
yes it is
Poverino, pochi applausi xD se n'è andato offeso

Bravo! :-)
it's like caprice 24 at guitar
that was beautiful, but he walks away that quick? ..
@ufoghinos Yeah, I hate when I'm watching a video, and then scroll down, and then find that the comments distract me.
I'm 15 years old and i can reach a 11th too. almost 12th
it's annoying indeed. but its only one page... i first did is slowly, but its still difficult
nice play XD
lotta pedal. 3:03 should be a little faster. no repeat at 3:22? its pretty good overall but it could be better. it gets really good around the last 130. 4 stars out of 5
La campanella is hardest for me because my asian hands are so small :P
Nice tempo.
ughhhh marry me.
why did he rushed out ? i would have deserved a huge aplause :|
He players kind of anxious, I mean he looks nervous
oops but I am a little disappointed at var 6. there were some mistakes... though I of course cannot play this piece...
The coolest thing about this is that he is not asian! :D
what do you mean?
@kkmattman LOL OWNED HAHAHAHA
muy bien interpretado
5*** xD
