I know we're in a solar maximum, but I was *not* expecting the corona to be that large. Despite all the advances in camera technology, recordings simply can't do it justice compared to what you could see with the naked eye. Unfortunately, it sounds like the next one in North America is 20 years away, and the next one where I am is supposedly 1,020 years from now.
I saw it from Indianapolis motor speedway... And I gotta say WOW. I got some ok photos with my phone and a filter but nothing even comes close to seeing it... UNREAL
It is an actual goose-flesh inducing event, and I was lucky enough to catch the last one as it skirted my state. I'm so happy you were able to witness this spectacular event, it's hard to describe the emotions it pulls our from you. One of the actual "Must See" event's in a life, and not to be missed!
I'm sorry that you had cloudy skies it was amazing with clear skies you could even see Venus and Jupiter in the sky it was amazing to watch
I live in Cleveland, had 4 minutes of totality. It was so much better than I was expecting. I was honestly blown away. The temperature dropped like 15 degrees too. You’re definitely correct about the pure white circle.
April 8 is my wedding anniversary and we lucked out and we live in the path of totality and got the day off and the weather worked out it was surreal and epic to experience it once. To see that white ring in the sky while it looks like night up in the sky but all around the horizon still had some light was amazing.
Thank you for sharing. I live in Idaho and was well-outside the viewing area.
Thanks! Really appreciate your perspective.
Sounds awesome! Wish I could have seen this myself.
Saw a 100% when i was 10 in Germany, can still remember it today.
thats cool man i was definitely not anywhere close to the path so i didnt even bother
thanks for video and your trouble
Thanks for Sharing this Noobifier
Was cool meeting you today. Glad I did. This video will be a reminder of this day. Happy to be a subscriber. Will be checking out your other videos now. Thanks again.
It was cool. Worth the drive and good company
We drive two days to the Ozarks in Arkansas to see it. In the national forest. Last time I tried to photograph the eclipse, but I don't have that kind of equipment. But I did notice the effect on wildlife in the woods; they all got eerily quiet. So this time I recorded half an hour around totality pointed at the woods. And I really appreciated the extra time on totality this time. I really got to soak in that beautiful ring this time.
Saw the 100% too. What a spectacle.
Hey I know that guy!!
What an absolutely amazing experience!!
100%'r from Central Texas, good stuffs Noob! Forcasters said we'd enjoy nearly 4 and a half min totality, but it felt like perhaps a min or so... lotta backscatter from high thin clouds tho'. Best, Space safe!
Nicely done!! Thank you for sharing this experience.
Nice ! Thanks for the share.
PS : Would you bring your game analysis through Helldivers ?
I'm in Mesquite, TX and the clouds cleared just a couple of minute before totality. And we were in it for the whole time. It's mindblowng. Simply surreal in what's actually going on. I can't express how you should try to go to one of these things, just once. I just wish it lasted longer. Just...wow.
Good shooting of the event. I was outside of the 100% zone, and I had the gerbil staked down and was ready to sacrifice it for the good of the world, but missed it because of cloud cover. Well, long story short, my kid was happy that I'd "found" his pet when I got back home.
+BrianMP5T *The moon is at perigee, facilitating the "blood moon theory" in action.*
Glad you went for the 100%. In 2017 I drove up to Oregon to experience that eclipse and it was well worth it.
😁This was my second time seeing a total solar eclipse. Last time had to go north and this time south. Did you see the multiple solar flares coming off of the ring? This one looked slightly different from the one a few years back. It had a more pronounced corona and flares unlike last time. I'm assuming it's because of solar minimum being now and opposite was true last time. You missed the diamond ring affect it sounds like. That's a shame. I live in the south west corner of Missouri in the United States.
Nice. We drove 6 hours to see it. I have a drone video of our group watching the totality occur. In under 20 seconds, it went from the drone being able to see our whole group in relatively bright lighting to pitch black and seeing nothing. The coolest view is a 360 panorama where you have a sunset everywhere you look. It was worth the trip.
Awesome that you got to experience this, Noobifier! Everyone should enjoy TSE totality at least once in their life :)
after the partial a few years ago, I was pretty sure the hype for a full eclipse was overblown. Sitting without glasses and seeing the moon covering all but the smallest corona of sun was absolutely incredible. I thought the hype was going to be more than the event, but I am glad to be completely wrong. Got a few good pictures of totality but even seeing those it does not compare at all to the real deal with my eyes.
I enjoyed it today, while drinking margaritas 😂😂
We traveled from idaho to Texas to see it. A long tough trip but worth it.
It was cloudy where I am, so i missed it. We only got 75% tho so meh.
I made a four and a half hour round trip despite my hatred of long distance driving and it was beyond worth it. I knew what I was getting in to and was still blown away. I don't know when the next one rolls around, but I'll do everything I can to make it.
Every Time. Worth the drive
Glad you got to see 100%. 95% where I was
Saw it in Vermont, meet total strangers. It was awesome.
For your variable ND where did you have it at when you were shooting. I used a nd100000 but wasn't sure if it was too dark, lens rf35mm @ 1/200 f5.6 iso 100, got the shot nonetheless. 🤷♂
You can also stop it to like F22 to help out.
The thing that suprised me (but shouldn’t have) was how big the sun was. It was the size of the full moon, like exactly. Even so the Corona was twice the size, and you could see some red coronal loops which was surprising. My only issue was my phone was not focusing correctly and so couldn’t get any good photos.
Exactly, we so infrequently look at the sun, that we have no real appreciation for its size.
I went just SW of Brockville. Though the drive there and back took 2x as longer than normal, it easily was worth it.
The effing traffic was absurd.
Saw down here near Toronto, it was Amazing!
it was awesome saw it at my house
This was really neat ! With the personal touch and good footage, this was more engaging than the news bits. I would be interested in a realtime video of the event with original audio. Any chance for that ?
Well, it was mostly Timelapse so there is no audio. Sorry, next time?
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I will hold you to it in... uhh... 2044 ? :-D
Awesome! So… I had to ask… will we see the next eclipse before SC? 😂😂😂
Hopefully
…and maybe before retirement and or willed to grandkids. LOL
awesome!
We decided to travel to the path of totality, and I agree with everything you said! Awesome life experience and memory with the family!
this might be your best video
Thanks.
