I need to do this. Lived here 12 years and garage has always sounded like I was opening the Ark of the Covenant. Never even thought about actually lubing it. Thanks for the tip!
Chains come with protective coating from the factory that should last for the lifetime of the chain. No need to lubricate, just make sure it is clean from dust or debris.

And what for car door hinges? Also white lithium grease? Or just grease in spray?
Silicone spray is in a lot of dedicated garage lubricants
What about the chain to the motor ?
You have to shake it enough before using it.
Would you spray the chain or not.
I actually have a long screw would I lube that.

Do you actually do this every 6-12 months? lol
I can’t comment on that, but the door definitely starts squeaking again after 6-12 month. 😂
@@DIYtime Lol Yeah I need to do mine here soon also.
Next video: how to park ON your driveway.
🤣
why don't you use wd-40 "garage door"? seems that's for garage doors..
You're comparing closing and opening the door. LOL
Why would it matter if its closing or opening? Sound is still the same.
You're commenting on the comparison, or are trolling the comparison... neither is the better.
@@DIYtimeThank you. I found your vid helpful.
