I’m picking this up tomorrow. It blows the MDX and RX out the water. I looked at all 3 thoroughly. MDX uses too much hard plastic and hasn’t done enough to separate itself from Honda. The window controls look like my old CRV still. Seats are uncomfortable unlike Infiniti. Lexus got too lazy and lacking detail inside. For the price, the QX60 Sensory packs an incredible value.

Great review. I came from a Lexus RX350. I did love my Lexus, but I found the ride and steering/road feedback to be far too tame. In other words, the ride was too soft (but very nice) and the steering provided zero feedback. However, I loved the smooth 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine and overall reliability. I then researched and eventually purchased the Infinity QX60, Sensory model. I love the very smooth 9 speed automatic transmission mated to a 295 hp 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine. I also observed that the steering was more precise than the Lexus and provided significantly more road feel. Also, the suspension was more like the Lexus F Sport model. I am over 50 years old and I wasn’t looking for a sports car per se. I was looking for an attractive, larger luxury SUV that had a smooth, powerful power plant that was NOT a 4 cylinder turbo (2023 Lexus RX350, Q5, etc). I do love the stying and features of my QX60, as well as the ability to use unleaded gas (unlike the Lexus and most of the German competitors). Anyway, I am a happy customer.

David, you make some great points and I love your review!
However in terms of the performance part and the Q60 being boring to drive. If I was personally in the market shopping for a luxury SUV or crossover, the last thing I want is it to have sharp handling, rough riding suspension or it to drive sporty IMHO.
I prefer a more isolated ride, soft suspension to absorb the rough streets of where I live, and low to no interior noises. Just like how the older Lexus vehicles used to be.
The Genesis GV80 would be my go to luxury vehicle of choice at the moment for the money. Especially with it looks, it is light years better than this Infiniti, and gives off that classic luxury look of cars from the past had. The more comfy and soft silent riding the vehicle is from the outside world, the less stress in my book. But that Infiniti is no slouch, it is nice looking and although most regular Nissan products tend to be lower quality than say a Toyota or Honda products, their Infiniti line has always been pretty good and are very stylish cars.

It does have some issues, but as far as styling goes, current Genesis styling blows a lot of other luxury brands away. The Genesis brand finally has a unique signature design profile that suites them very well unlike the previous Genesis vehicles of 10 years ago. It will take the brand some time to improve its reliability. Will ever be Lexus reliable? That’s hard to say at the moment. But the Hyundai/Kia brand have really improved their vehicles as of late and are hitting it out of the park with its cool looking design that have a very upscale appearance to them.
A far cry from what they were building 20 years ago. One perfect example is the Hyundai Palisades and Kia Telluride. Probably still one of the nicest looking SUV’s on the market today in its price range and even when compared to some luxury SUV’s.
I can see the Genesis being the new Luxury make that takes off and will cut into sales of Lexus and the Germans big 3.

You did an excellent job. I drive a 2015 RX350 Lexus and it’s my third Lexus. I am considering the QX-60. So, I appreciate your review. But, I’m not sure yet. Interior seems more luxurious than Lexus. Lexus is kind of plain. Great work!! Toyota/Lexus has Nissan/Infiniti out rated by minimal service trips, we think. Thanks again for your review!!!

They should have used the VR30 in the QX55 with the 9 spd transmission as well. Big missed opportunity there. They’re really gonna let Lexus “F Sport” they’re inferior vehicles and Acura “Type S” their whole line up too?? C’mon Infiniti! You have the best motors of these three. Take advantage of that!

Thanks David. Infotainment system is definitely updated for the better, however the software needs to be updated to support full screen CarPlay. It’s a waste of screen realestate having only 2/3 for apps and 1/3 for Infiniti radio/ weather / clock info. The only full screen allowed is the factory maps. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

From a design perspective … the rear contrasting “blobs” surrounding the exhaust pipes look horrendous! To a slightly lesser degree, the left and right contrasting elements at the bottom of the front bumper exhibit a similar distracting visual.
Those four elements look like unrefined afterthoughts, and destroy the vehicle’s more elegant appearance. IMHO.

I purchased this QX60 in Autograph trim partially based on this video. The body gaps and quality of the leather and trim have been absolutely TERRIBLE!!!. In addition when i joined the 2022+ Infiniti forums on Facebook i find out there are many clients experiencing the same. I am very dissappointed in this product. My MDX was better and my Q7 way better. Great design but crap quality

Much respect for your expertise Dave. I think the exterior design is excellent, but that of course is subjective. As you know Infinity quality is not that of Toyota let alone Lexus, too bad because it would give the consumer that is focused on reliability another option.
