If we took a shot for every red flag within her original interview alone... We'd be dead. What amazes me most is how long it took to charge her, which I understand was delayed as they searched for the body. But when she said her daughter's favorite activity WAS baths... Was? NOPE. I'd be losing my mind if my baby was missing. She's smiling enjoying every bit of attention.
I hope she gets the death penalty. And I don't say that often.

I can already tell this is going to be hard to watch!! My youngest son had a phase last year from teething an growth spurts when he cried and screamed nonstop all day for a couple of weeks at a time. When he woke up I couldn't wait for him to nap and after his nap I counted down to bed time. I felt awful as a mother thinking that way but my husband was staying out of town for weeks at a time and it was getting unbearable. Nothing soothed him. There were moments I'd just hold him and cry with him because there was nothing else I could do. Never once in all those months did I have have the thought to harm him. How anyone could harm a sweet, innocent child thay can't express themselves with words yet, is beyond fathomable. Children look at us as their protectors. I'm not sure what led to this b!tch to do whatever she did but I can tell you, there is no excuse or good reason.
That’s the reality of motherhood! We might be feeling like we can’t take it anymore but we would NEVER harm our babies! Wouldn’t cross our minds!
My daughter was like 6 months old, I had awful postpartum depression and newly diagnosed Fibromyalgia. I was at the pharmacy and my insurance co denied my medication and I hit my breaking point. I’m bawling, my baby is bawling she never slept through the night, had reflux and was on special formula that was $50.00 a can back in 2001. An older grandmother came up and gently took my daughter out of my arms and stood next to me holding her while i bawl it out. I’ll never forget how she just sensed I needed help, and stepped in to help a new mama in need. It takes a village, and she was my village that day. I wish someone could have sensed Evelyn wasn’t safe with her mother and intervened.
Absolutely!! That’s 100% what went through my mind hearing the details… is that Evelyn was probably teething and Megan lost her ish - lord knows HOW MANY TIMES SHES HURT THAT BABY BEFORE!! I haven’t found a single picture of her even smiling! Yes, teething is rough… but NEVER and I mean NEVER once did it cross my mind to make my son feel worse in that moment like she did… that’s beyond… Omg I just can’t 😢 my son celebrated his first birthday yesterday so this case really messed with me today. And we made the mistake of taking him to his first pro baseball game (grandparents got everyone tickets) padres vs the giants. We were there less than 20 minutes. My son was terrified. He was seriously scared of the noise and looked at us like with this horrific look. We left and NONE of us were upset about it - we got pizza, came back to hotel,

My son didn’t sleep when he was a baby. Had repeated staph infections. This went on for almost a year. I’m so thankful I was raised by nonviolent parents. He cried nonstop wouldn’t play with a toy. I would just walk him, pat him and try to distract him. Never once did I think being cruel to him would be a solution. Everything turned around with a new pediatrician and taking him off soy and formula. He thrived on goat milk. 😊

I had to take several breaks while researching this case. I honestly cannot fathom how anyone can look at this and say *Oh well she still deservers human rights* I feel like when you take someone's life in such a cruel manner you've forfeited your human rights. I swear if there was a way to do EXACTLY to her what she did to that poor baby then that still wouldn't be enough punishment but it would be a start.

This is when I think we need a place like Alcatraz to send them to and just keep them locked up til they pass . They get three meals a day and see no guards or anyone , no phone calls , no letters , no visitors , completely cut off from society just like they did to their victims . They stay in their cells twenty four hrs a day , seven days a week . They dont get meds or anything , they can stay in their delusions cause they weren’t on them when they were free why medicate them now !

I don’t believe in capital punishment. Law enforcement and the Criminal Justice system gets it wrong far too often, the Innocence Project is proof of that. But cases like this are the rare circumstance where I support the death sentence. There’s no one else responsible for the horrific death of beautiful little Evelyn than her own mother and for that, she should be made to pay the price. As a mother if you accidentally scratch your baby changing their diaper or do something small to hurt them is the worst feeling ever. I get sick at the thought of what Megan did.

It is unfathomable to think of a mother discarding their child's life as trash...but we see it all too often. And then their are the other mothers who would put their lives on the line for their child. Thank you for covering this case. This is local to me as is Summer Moon Wells. These people are terrible representations of the people from my area and it sickens me. I have dedicated my entire adult life to the love and educational experiences of young children. It is baffling how anyone could intentionally harm a child, much less the heinous acts that this woman has carried out to this precious child.

We would recognize her, but also who wants to go to jail for taking care of that scum? Not a lot. My life is worth more than hers. Karma will eventually catch up to her. Karma always does.

This happened in our community and it has broken the hearts of everyone here! The people that were praying constantly and that were searching for her were many! We will not forget Evelyn and her precious smile! Most did not know her personally but when the amber alert was released she was everyone’s baby! I personally cried and prayed she would be found unharmed and when she wasn’t I was crushed and in disbelief. Disbelief that someone so evil was close by! I pray she gets the penalty she deserves and that sweet Evelyn gets justice. I know that precious angel is in the arms of our Lord where she will never be hurt again!

It’s super important that you cover these cases, cases of babies being put through the most horrific abuse and neglect.
They’re the most painful, difficult and disturbing cases because it’s unfathomable that anyone could be and act so evil to children, let alone the parents of those children.
We have to hear it, share it and raise awareness to it in the hope that everyone is more aware to say something, do something and act.
Children look to adults for protection, love and safety. It’s beyond heartbreaking that we’re hearing case after case of the most vile abuse and hurt. So many people are praying to become parents and would provide a safe, happy and loved home to so many.

This is a local case for me. Everyone knew she was lying from the beginning and knew that sweet baby wouldn’t be found alive. How horrible that she was found in a trash can. You can tell what she truly thought of Evelyn by how she disposed of her.

I live around 15 minutes from the site where this sweet baby was located. That night, a memorial was started in front of the property. My mother and I was able to make a beautiful wreath in her remembrance for it. The sheriff’s office also had a memorial as well. I worked probation and would run into her attorney sometimes. He would just say… ‘think of the worst thing that you think happened and then times it by 1000’.
This case is just so sad. Evelyn was two weeks older than my daughter when she went missing so it really hit home. Now my daughter is almost four and just an absolute joy to everyone in her life. It’s so heartbreaking that Evelyn’s family was robbed of her. Rest In Peace, beautiful. You will get justice!!❤

That poor baby 😭 I also feel absolutely terrible for the jury people, they woke up one morning and got picked to see some the worst things a person could imagine for $45 a day while a decent therapist starts at $100. I've always wanted to be on a jury but nothing like this, I don't know how they are coping.

Megan Boswell infuriates me to no end! In cases like this , I can see why there's people out there who believe corporal punishment should be brought back! Maybe if people were actually scared to death of whatd happen to them if they were caught doing things like this , then we'd see cases like this happen much less often.
I have a 16 month old and while she drives me nuts most days 😂 I could never hurt her. She looks at me with so much trust and love. How could anyone betray that.

This case was heartbreaking to hear about before we knew had details but to know that precious baby was alive when wrapped in that way, put in a trash bag and then placed upside down in a trash can...it literally took my breath away. Torture and death is the only justice for little Evelyn, in my opinion. I lost my son just after he was born 36 years ago and the pain is still like a knife cutting through my soul. How a mother can kill her own child like this in incomprehensible.

You can’t do a polygraph while pregnant because of the extra heart beat. I had that issue come up when I was pregnant 36 years ago, and a employee had stolen a bunch of merchandise.

I'm an ex journalist and I'm not from the USA. I'm pointing it out because I'm always stunned/dismayed by the sort of questions American journalists ask. I feel second hand embarrassment from such stupid, shallow questions. I know there are some from which you can conclude quite a bit, but some of them (questions, not journalists) are superfluous or plain stupid (I'm excluding a journalist that conducted the interview where smirking Megan is sitting with...someone. I didn't get who that is)

Yea it was a weird interview, though then I thought maybe the journalist had wondered if she was the killer? It did shed alot of light on how bizzare the mother was behaving
We have no "journalists" in the US anymore.
It's one thing to kill your child (evil!) but what is so disturbing to me is how a mother can dispose of the body in such a cruel way and just go on with life knowing your babies body is just in a trash can rotting away. Breaks my heart.

I remember this so well because it’s was in my local news. I live in a town just next door to Blountville. It rocked our local social media with every new interview- just mind blowing on the things this mother was saying… we were all so sad for this little girl. 😢 I think we all knew especially after her strange 2nd interview with the “new story” about the baby being with her mother…

This one really kills me, thank you for the update on this case. Baby Evelyn deserved so much better then what she got. Bless her little heart - we all love her so incredibly much despite never having had the privilege to know her in person. I had read about the way that poor baby Evelyn was found and how her face was smooched up and her head severely extended. But, I also read about the baby being alive when she was wrapped up and put in the garbage.
What I wonder is if the baby was conscious or not. I do hope she was unconscious and unaware of what was happening. It is too cruel and sick for her to know what was happening to her. I pray she was totally out of it.

I think it’s so interesting that she was able to maintain speaking about her daughter in the present tense when she knew she was dead. She never slips up once. Does it show some level of detachment/ sociopathy/ psychopathy? I’d love to hear a psychologists take on her behaviour and language.
I think she was able to maintain present tense when speaking about her because the baby was still alive when she stuffed her in that container. So in her warped mind, it was easier to pretend she didn’t suffocate to death. If the baby had already been dead, I think you would have heard her use past tense quite a few times. She was so delusional she may have actually believed her own lie that the baby was still alive.
The hatred I feel for Casey Anthony is strong and it's the same for this disgusting human. My heart aches knowing how she left that beautiful sweet innocent baby girl 😭

This case has really bothered me too! I have been watching this case from day one. I live here close by and I hope and pray she gets the maximum sentence. I don't understand how anyone could do something that horrific to a baby. If she didn't want her why did she not give her up for adoption or let a family member take care of her shoot I would gladly have taken care of little Evelyn. We need a license for everything else we should need a license to have children or at the very least a parenting course anything to help people see that having children is not easy!! Parenting classes and licenses will not deter evil. It can help the parents with good intentions but no direction, but it wouldn't have helped caylie, gannon, Evelyn, Gabriel... I could go on..

The vast majority of parents are loving and kind, and something like a license or mandatory parenting classes would end up unfairly targeting low income or minorities families and allowing middle class white women like Casey Anthony and Megan Boswell to sail through with flying colors.

any opportunity where something isn't your protected right by default can become something you're just not allowed to do because you personally won't get approved for some BS reason. Financial and racial motivations are definitely going to crop up. Imagine if the person administering your license just looks up your public voting record and decides their political opponents shouldn't need to be reproducing legally.

This case is heartbreaking and hits closer to home for me on the fact that I live in East TN where this happened. Life in prison is not good enough for Megan she deserves the same treatment she put that poor baby through or the most drawn out torture before death.

As horrific as the babies death was I assumed that she was put into the rubbish bin (not even a little box!) already deceased. But to hear that the poor baby was alive absolutely floored me. I can't imagine how much she suffered ( in life as well as death) and is beyond cruelty, there are no words to describe the sorrow or pain I feel for her. May she now rest in peace at last. I don't even understand how anyone, especially a parent could do this to your own child or any child. It's very hard to comprehend what she did. It's completely sickening and she needs the death penalty but I read they weren't going after that. And after what happened to CA I agree. I'd rather her spend life in prison then be living wild and free like CA.
