- Alexandre Tharaud is joined by soprano Sabine Devieilhe in the incandescent "Viens, Hymen" by Rameau, part of Alexandre's album dedicated to treasures from the French baroque era. Discover Versailles: w.lnk.to/versaillesLY
The album serves as a tribute to composers associated with the French court in the 17th and 18th centuries, active during the reigns of Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI. Lully, Rameau, Charpentier, and François Couperin stand beside lesser-known masters: d’Anglebert, Forqueray, Royer, Duphly, and Balbastre.

Voice of an angel
My favourite French baroque singer
Thank you for sharing this gem.
Viens, Hymen, viens m'unir au vainqueur que j'adore;
Forme tes noeuds, enchaîne-moi.
Dans ces tendres instants où ma flamme t'implore,
L'Amour même n'est pas plus aimable que toi.
LES INDES GALANTES, BALLET-HÉROÏQUE, DEUXIÈME ENTRÉE, Scène II
Very beautiful voice and her piano accompanist was outstanding too. BRAVO!! to both of them.
Great musicians -- and wonderful acoustics in that room!
Exquisite. Impeccable and perfectly tasteful phrasing.
Such a beauty. Thank you!

Piękne
my fav. angel :D
I’m in heaven
what will it take to get her to sing chi il bel sogno di doretta
it's not for her voice type sadly
Not my favorite….in fact, it’s the very first piece I’ve heard Ms. Devieilhe sing that left me cold. _It’s_ too cold, too spare, and the piano can’t take the place of the warmth of a basso continuo. Icy, icy, icy cold and too quiet.
Did we need to see so much of the pianist? The video cuts between the singer and the pianist were very distracting.
There's two musicians creating this music lol
Exquisite !
