Old phones work very well too. The iPhone 6 has great cameras and are going real cheap now they’ve just come off the iOS update list

We are experiencing problems with the Filmic Pro App (V7.1.0) and the new iPhones (13pro, 14 pro, 14pro plus + iOS 16.2). It does not give the option for clean hdmi at all, so we again have the black spaces all around when connecting to the Atem mini. Did you have this issue somehow? Thanks a million for your help!
Balckmagic now has their own phone app with clean HDMI output, and it's free!

Yes it does but unfortunately the video and sound is not perfectly synchronized
I Use theses adapters but unfortunately the video is not synchronized with the sound (There is a small delay) and with the ATEM I don't have solution to fix it because the sound is encapsulated in the HDMI. Did you found the same issue? I Think the issue is due to the video converter in the adapter.

One question I have an iPhone 11 pro max and I am trying to have the clean hdmi output from the filmicpro to my blackmagic recording monitor but the first thing is that it does not send me the signal if I do not give it the charger, not as you show in the video that You only connect the HDMI cable and the other thing is that it does not reproduce the clean signal only when I am with the cell phone vertically, so I turn the cell phone to horizontal, the video is lost and the signal flashes ... I changed the hdmi and everything still the same
Just discovered your channel today, Tim. Great content. I want to do a clean hdmi out of an illustration program to record videos of me illustrating without all the normal iPad info on the sides. Will filmic do a clean screen scrape from any app on the iPad or does it have to be using normal video?

Hi there - is there an option to use anything else than Filmic ? I use SutterCast App - BUT - the App show a different angle of the phone on the ATEM. I can force it to show a 90 angle - on OBS, but it's not easy with the other source...

I’ve been using this approach since filmic pro introduced it. How do you find the colours when going through the ATEM ?
Not having any trouble with colour as long as the light is good.
Is there a solution for an android phone?
Hi again Tim. Is Filmic Pro the only way to get rid of the ridicules from the iPhone? I got my iPhone hooked up to the ATEM, but $50/annually is steep. Is there another app, or has Apple come up with a way to get a clean output? Thanks kindly.
I know this comment is a year old, but hopefully this is helpful to someone. When you get on that page where it asks you to subscribe, keep scrolling all the way to the right. At the very bottom there's a "use limited version" button, or something along those lines. Click that, and you can still do everything in this video for free.

Yes, it’s easy to do. But, when shooting 4K, does your monitor have massive lag and latency? 1080p is fine but once you hit record with 4K 30 fps, huge lag and stutter to catch up and not smooth. Thoughts?
Yes. I also tried this with 13 pro max, 4k does not work…

It the d7000 has hdmi out then it should work fine. Let me know how it goes.
I was using my iPhone 11 to do this and the clean HDMI works, but there are black bars showing on the streaming software (Zoom, Streamyard etc.) any ideas?
Same and he mentioned the problem but did not provide any fix to it 😒

I do need to do an update to this - especially as filmic pro has undergone some major changes! Keep an eye out for a new video. I'll also test with the iphone 14

Tim do you have a wireless HDMI video transmitter you can try this with?
I’m getting one soon, but it will work just as well. HDMI over Ethernet converters work fine which is the same protocols

hey there. So I have an iPhone Xr. I tried connecting it with Filmic pro but couldn't connect it. I'm running a ATEM Television Studio HD. I matched up the Frame Rate and everything. still wouldn't show. thoughts?
as a quick test - can you try connecting the HDMI directly to a TV or monitor? that will tell us if the HDMI is coming out of the cable. if that doesn't work try swapping out the HDMI cable.
An addcitional question - is the HDMI adaptor an apple one or other brand?.

not 100% sure, but app store will usually offer the most current option for your device if the publisher offers it. I'll find an old phone and try
@@TimSimpson It seems to be so that you have to have IPhone 7 or newer to get it work. You can’t load FilmicPro to older ones.
@@PapanPyhis Thats kinda what I expected. versions too far apart can't be expected to work together. working across 7 or 8 years of phone hardware versions is pretty damn good TBH.:D
So thats how its done. Really not a n expensive app considering iPhones now have video quality that rivals most compact camera's and even some DSLR's. Another good thing is if you need an extra camera for a particular situation and you already are using your phone as one of the camera's, you can borrow a friends if they are willing to be without their phone for the time its needed. Simply give them $20, have them buy filmic pro, set it up and your off to the races.
the cost of apps is nothing in the big scheme of things for what you get these days. Filmic pro has a whole suite available - I would say get that www.filmicpro.com/ I did - no brainer

someone asked me this before - you can turn the brightness all the way down if the light spill is a problem, or to conserve battery
@@TimSimpson Thanks Tim, yes that works - not quite what apps like iVCam or EpocCam do (fully turning off the screen) but they don't work with the Atem mini...Btw, I followed your suggestion and tried the Shoot app. If you don't need the fancy settings of Filmic, shoot works wonderfully. Unlike Filimic Pro, that does not work well with my 2018 iPad pro, Shoot has clean HDMI out both on my 2018 (Lightning) and 2020 (USB-c) iPads. Best wishes, Christian!
