I’m going back to when he helped me through my dads death on 2013. That’s when I found him. Frick park market. Blues slide park will forever have a place in my heart
I got to visit frick park market the other day. I ordered a turkey sandwich and got to eat it at blue slide park. They let me hold the original Tabs used in the video and they still had the “lettuce, tomato bitch Sandwich” in the freezer, still rock solid. Showed me pictures from when he visited, very beautiful sight to see. They said that a lot of rappers have came in there to show their love for Mac, even said a couple years ago a nerdy kid from Bethesda Maryland came in, a couple years later they had seen him on the tv, it was Logic. Pittsburgh has a lotta love for Mac as we all do. We miss you Mac everyday. May he Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻
I live less than 2 hours away and still have yet to visit. He mentions my tiny hometown in this song. "Everytime I rhyme I get that punxsutawney phillin"
If you listen to his newer stuff then come back to this song it really hits you how much happier and hopeful he used to be and its heartbreaking to see.
@@damienestreich5973 Well some can't handle the fame and money. Love Mac, but he couldn't handle it and he had no need to do anything but smoke ( he instead did pills, etc). Instead he choose to wild out and do everything under the sun.
It was so much better when Mac was happy I agree. You can see the difference I was lucky to grow up with Mac. Middle school he came out. I'm 24 he was a few years older. But Mac has been huge inspiration since then

I visited the market yesterday and was able to meet the former owner Ron and talked to him for 30/45 mins. Didn’t know what to expect going in crazy how much positive energy was in the room everyone there had so much love for Mac. Ron was telling me that Mac used to work at the market growing up. Ron has a passion for art and is working on a painting to place in Blue Slide Park. His family still comes to the market a lot and there is a journal there that we can write something for his mom. They are working on a mural to put up in the store the picture they picked out from his photographer is the perfect image to show how much of a impact Mac was to his fans.
@@abekurzweg1859do they still like talk about mac though? or like still holding his legend if ykwim sorry that im late to comment 😭 i want to visit frick park market over the summer i haven’t been :)
I visited frick park market today and talked to mr. John about Mac for about an hour. He had so many stories. He talked about how they filmed the video for party on 5th ave and blocked off the road and forgot about it for a week. He talked about how much he loved his black Mercedes but then he traded it in for a Prius. He told me how his first CD he made only had two songs on it and mr john said how bad they were. He said Mac was so full of energy and was always happy. He said he would go in every day. And every time he had a concert back home. He said how even when he was a millionaire he still would put his lunch on his moms tab. I will remember today forever
Thats awesome! I was just at Blue Slide park a few days ago. The sandwich I got at Frick Park Market last time I went was delicious. I talked to I think his wife she was super cool too
At the beginning of COVID in 2020 I lived nextdoor to the Market. The previous owners John and Maggie were amazing people, and had a plethora of stories to share about Malcom. They sold it sometime in 2021, but if you have a chance to stop in, you surely will not be disappointed. Blue slide park is only about a 5 minute drive from here as well, if you're looking to hit the Mac Miller Spots. The Frick Park area of Pittsburgh is such a beautiful place to visit and live.

Thank you for everything and your music impacting mine and Shane’s lives in the best way and giving me the best night I’ll never forget. You are truly missed♥️
I was about 12 when this masterpiece was dropped. Right around the time I went through puberty and was discovering fashion and music. It’s crazy to think about how influential he actually was to my maturing and growing up. He inspired me to wear those shirts and have rocks in my ears. Good times those were.
I was six. 😅 And I was and still am a quiet little calm nerd, but my brother made me listen to his music. I’m not much of a rap fan (I more into 80’s latino music) but Mac Miller. I have always loved his music. RIP ❤️ Mac Miller
I was born in 1992 I graduated in 2011 even though I should've graduated in 2010. Mac miller and wiz Khalifa were gods even here in LA. Rip mac. Shout out Pittsburgh for giving us 2 gods
Wiz and Mac were all I listened to the most in high school in 2011. Those were the best days of my life with my homies Jamin to their music. Thank you Mac. Fly high, brutha.
I work for The City of Pittsburgh Public Works, Eastern Division. Our shop is literally right next to Blue Slide Park and it's amazing to me how often throughout the year there are people from all over the world who come to visit a neighborhood park just because of a rapper!! I wasn't the biggest Mac fan I'm 35 so I'm a Nas, Jay, Pac, BIG etc guy but I respect Mac especially for reppin Pittsburgh so damn hard and always!! He's also a pretty decent MC too! Dude definitely had some bars here and there for sure!!
I had a dream where I bumped into Mac at my local Mall, I had what felt like a 4 hour conversation with him, Ive been going through some heavy shit lately, then at the end, when he went to stand up and walk away, I begged him not to leave, he embraced me in a hug, and told me he aint really gone... he's always gonna be round with the music and message he spoke in his verse's... Im a grown ass man and I woke up in tears. Really miss you Mac. ♥
James Slocombe Yeah man, I enjoyed the old stuff better than the drugged out music he makes now. If you see him live now, you don't get that feel of "the kid" mac miller anymore. :( Check out "Ogden Payne" Music tho, new music always makes me excited!
Chris Waggoner New Mac Old Mac, if you don't at least appreciate his new stuff, you just don't understand what he's trying to do. He doesn't care what people think whether they want his old stuff or new stuff. The kid is a millionaire he's gonna do whatever makes him happy and in the end that's all that matters
***** he's saying he's awesome like heroin. Stating that when you listen to his first song it's the best thing ever so you just keep listening to his music trying to get that 'high' again. He's just saying if you listen to him once you're hooked forever.
I remember when this was on MTV everyday, at the time I didn't like the song, but now it brings back memories of high school and I listen to it every now and then rest in peace Mac Miller
I'm not lying Mac. You and Wiz were the only rappers I smoked to in Highschool... This is some real smoking with your boys type music. This is some real Night on my own type music. This is real music. You killed the game. You brought everything you had, and you gave it your all. Thanks Mac. I'll always be bumping your music my man. ✊👍 Forever a Legend.
I remember listening to this when I was in grade 5, my friend and I would walk home together and sing this constantly and pretend like we were at a concert with this playing:( I miss u and ur amazing music. most dope that’s forever
Feels like I lost a best friend from high school who I hadn't talked with in awhile because I thought we were both too busy with our current lives. I grew up with this guy's music since BSP first debuted. Rest in Peace Mac, I will visit Frick Park Market someday for you.
back in the day i was 17 years old just a kid looking for a dream time passed now im 28 i just got back to that song and realized that he was my hero i miss you mac RIP
This was the very first mac Miller song I ever heard. My best friend made me a mix cd spring 2012 and this was one of the songs on it! Yall just don't even know what lengths i would go to just to get that mix cd back😢 but anyways that's how I was first introduced to Mac, my junior year of high school and I became obsessed right away and downloaded sooo many of his songs off iTunes and made many more mix cds that became the soundtrack to mine and my friends summer, one of the most memorable summers of my life. My favorite mac songs were Donald Trump, loud, knock knock, smile back, and up all night. Now any time I hear any of those I instantly get taken back to the feeling of those wild carefree nights before we had to grow up. Rip mac miller, you meant a lot to so many of us even though we didn't know you personally. You were right there with us during those summer nights in a way. That whole summer was the best day ever.
Man I want to cry. You know what the top of the UA-cam video it shows like the upcoming tour dates it says he has a show coming up in Los Angeles. So sad
dude was SO MUCH RAWER AND GROUNDED back in da burgh.... LA really killed him. That shit was so wack out there. I'll always love this deep rooted stuff he laid down. So absolutely smooth and flawless.
La kills anyone who doesn't have a solid head on their shoulders. Moved there and it only took six months before i found myself in rehab wondering what the fμck happened.
Don't blame it on LA. If you got demons, Milwaukee or Boise or Tacoma can fuck you up. I also think that as his world expanded, so did the quality of his work. Take a listen. By the end he'd graduated to the highest level: writing great Soul Music. Yeah, I said it: Soul Music. "My Favorite Part" Live is like some Marvin Gaye/Tammy Terrell shit for the 21st Century!
I know guys it suck total asshole that Mac has left us all .... Sending them positive vibe to all my Fellow Mac fans... but hey as of the time writing this the last comment was 3 days ago... it makes me so happy to see ppl are either STILL returning to this or are only just now hearing the AbSoLuTe BANGER of a song. This song got me ready for so many days where I needed to vibe. RIP MAC MILLER ... We all still K.I.D.S. Down here dog && Thank you for everything
My older brother showed me this song while I was in 6th grade, and I loved him since. 21 out of school and heart broken he’s gone. I can’t stop playing his music lately. 2009 and come back to earth on repeat....
Wow does this bring back memories lol, staying up all night playing COD Modern Warfare 2 while in elementary school just bumping 2010-2012 Mac Miller... Take me back faaawk
One of the first songs I bought on itunes as a crazy potsmokin 13 year old and he still was releasing fire 🔥 hits up until his death. You never really know what you got till it's gone. R.I.P. Mac Miller.
I think this is the first song I heard from Mac Miller. Should have realized then how amazing ALL his music is. I only just really really discovered the rest of his discography, incredible talent.
I visited Frick Park Market in Feb 2020 and got to meet Maggi and John, the owners... some of the nicest most humble folks you'll meet. She even let me know of where a mural of Mac was painted that I got to visit, it was amazing. Sadly when I next went back to PGH in October of 2021, it was closed down. Im so happy I got to make it at least once before they closed up shop. They've reopened with new owners ive heard, but havent been yet. I'm sure it'll be hard to match the same energy the old owners/place gave. Love you Mac
I remember watching this on MTV when i was like 10 or so. I used to watch MTV as a little kid which was kinda bizarre because it was something i always thought of as being for older people. i mean, i dont know i used to watch TV a lot and always had a love for music so i guess i naturally gravitated to MTV when there were no cartoons. Considering im a professional musician now, it makes sense. Anyways this was my 1st mac miller song and i really liked and listened to it alot. Coming back years later as a musician studying music in college, after not really listening to him through middle/high school im learning he was a really great person and a talented musician. Never knew that about him. Its also amazing to see how he changed over the years artistically. Its kinda a sign of fate in my opinion that ive crossed paths with him when i was young and had a really creative mind, and now im back but my mind is more creative musically, and his work really resonates with me. Like, through the work of some greater force, he was meant to be in my life. What a great human. RIP
me, earl, and the dying girl which is set in pittsburgh and so beautifully depicts the city taught us that a person’s life can keep unravelling even after they pass away. we can still learn new things about them and understand them in different ways. rip mac

I was 16-17 years old when this was released. Those were good times I miss them and this song floods me with different memories.
Wow I was 20.
Still remember every word to this song, Im crying
???
R.I.P. Mac 🙌🏻
Anything you need you find it at the market 🎉
I was born in 1992 I graduated in 2011 even though I should've graduated in 2010. Mac miller and wiz Khalifa were gods even here in LA. Rip mac. Shout out Pittsburgh for giving us 2 gods
Just a FYI wiz is from north Dakota but not many know that he got big here in Pittsburgh where I'm proudly born and raised
donald beluscak everyone knows that lmao

Mac said "I aint no hipster but girl i could make your hips stir from Pittsburgh smoke papers or a swisher, welcome to the CAM RELLIM chronics":
Wiz and Mac were all I listened to the most in high school in 2011. Those were the best days of my life with my homies Jamin to their music. Thank you Mac. Fly high, brutha.
One of the dopest music videos I've ever seen
Look at the ones for the Watching Movies album they're wayy better
Truuu

This shit still BANGS .. my first & fave song by Mac. RIP my guy
omg yes mine too 🥲
I work for The City of Pittsburgh Public Works, Eastern Division.
10 years since this vid dropped and 10+ years of jamming you throughout my most important teenage years. Love and miss you king.
This just honestly made me shed a tear, knowing he had music talent like this and we will need hear it again… RIP Mac
2020, and Mac is still the freshest in the game !
Went there yesterday. The man behind the counter sat me and my buddy down and told us stories for an hour. Great people. Great food
10 years later and listening to it again after 5. Knew it was gonna be a classic!!!!
i wish Mac Miller still had this hype
Word, his older stuff was so dope
James Slocombe
Yeah man, I enjoyed the old stuff better than the drugged out music he makes now. If you see him live now, you don't get that feel of "the kid" mac miller anymore. :(
Check out "Ogden Payne" Music tho, new music always makes me excited!
cause his new music is getting psychedelic and its great. FACES is his best album by far
no way, I do not mind faces, but BSP is the real best
Chris Waggoner New Mac Old Mac, if you don't at least appreciate his new stuff, you just don't understand what he's trying to do. He doesn't care what people think whether they want his old stuff or new stuff. The kid is a millionaire he's gonna do whatever makes him happy and in the end that's all that matters
This is back when Mac was just smokin green
This post gave me cancer
***** he's saying he's awesome like heroin. Stating that when you listen to his first song it's the best thing ever so you just keep listening to his music trying to get that 'high' again. He's just saying if you listen to him once you're hooked forever.
Ian Becka This!
he quit? what the fuckin fuck?
Allan Trethewey oh wait? or is he pumpin ice now too?
I remember when this was on MTV everyday, at the time I didn't like the song, but now it brings back memories of high school and I listen to it every now and then rest in peace Mac Miller
my fav rapper easily. i miss u alot man! best music ever
✊👍 Forever a Legend.
rest easy mac: the funniest, sweetest, and most talented artist ❤️ .
Is that u in the vids?
I remember listening to this when I was in grade 5, my friend and I would walk home together and sing this constantly and pretend like we were at a concert with this playing:( I miss u and ur amazing music. most dope that’s forever
This song is honestly like the soundtrack to mine and so many others teenage youth…thank you for the perfect song for our coming of age years,R.I.P 💕
Feels like I lost a best friend from high school who I hadn't talked with in awhile because I thought we were both too busy with our current lives. I grew up with this guy's music since BSP first debuted. Rest in Peace Mac, I will visit Frick Park Market someday for you.
machiavelli*

@@LewisJerrilee989v lol who ?
Damn Mac
Where you at?
I miss you bro
Your music used to be so chill
Hopefully you come back
There's a really good album out called "GO:OD AM", I recommend you look it up.
+AUSHTEEN that shit is wack

Listen to Doodling in the key of c sharp by mac miller to those who want kids back. Hes not going back to that
Man I want to cry. You know what the top of the UA-cam video it shows like the upcoming tour dates it says he has a show coming up in Los Angeles. So sad
@@coaxelectrons531 cuz dude he was already gone at that time and they hadn't taken it down
Thank you for everything Mac, you’ve been a huge inspiration to me. Prayers to your family, Rest In Peace
we love you Mac. your name lives on forever. life is so fast. a blessing we got to experience this music in our lifetime
dude was SO MUCH RAWER AND GROUNDED back in da burgh....
Classic tracks, Cla@sik tracks BiActh.
@@craigj.8539 i think thats quite literally why he died but anyways
@@andrew5744?? Please explain your comment

Happy 30th Birthday Mac Miller. Hope it’s a good one wherever you are ✌️
This kid was the most versatile rapper no doubt. The good die young RIP Mac Man
One of the first songs I bought on itunes as a crazy potsmokin 13 year old and he still was releasing fire 🔥 hits up until his death. You never really know what you got till it's gone. R.I.P. Mac Miller.
I think this is the first song I heard from Mac Miller. Should have realized then how amazing ALL his music is. I only just really really discovered the rest of his discography, incredible talent.
He definitely had a higher level of swag than I will ever achieve. Damn
Smoking, crying in my room right now. This was my shit in middle school, still is. R.I.P.
Mac said "I aint no hipster but girl i could make your hips stir from Pittsburgh smoke papers or a swisher, welcome to the CAM RELLIM chronics":
Man, you got me through high school, especially in the mornings. Rest in peace, man.
RIP
I miss you so much Mac
This is so fun! Always puts me in a fuck-the-world good mood.
Turkey w tomato & lettuce is my jam man. Bout to road trip from Wisconsin just to sample this. good excuse for a road trip! R.I.P. MAC MILLER
me, earl, and the dying girl which is set in pittsburgh and so beautifully depicts the city taught us that a person’s life can keep unravelling even after they pass away. we can still learn new things about them and understand them in different ways. rip mac
I just remembered this song and started crying. Damn it damn it damn it.
