This pressure cook cleaning tip was a game changer. Even though I had been steaming for 20 mins with lemon after most meals, adding bicarb and pressure cooking really cleaned the guard rail around the element. This channel is the best UK/metric Ninja resource out there and the only one I need. Wonderful presentation, using familiar ingredients and measurements. Look forward to every new video and often go back through the archive for ideas and tips, notebook in hand.
Love this video as this is one of the reasons why I don’t use my machines! I don’t fancy the clean. This looks easy to do! I do the same with oven combi microwave and I use vinegar too. Thanks for help with valve cover. Couldnt get it off on cosori. I think I need more muscle!
Agree Sophie, I was so delighted to find this channel. Before finding the wonderful Penn, I had been watching some good American videos, but nothing can compare to seeing familar meals, ingredients and measurements.
Thanks for this going to do mine tomorrow. I also wash the silicone seal and I always put it back while it’s still warm it’s still a bit flexible. You’re right about the cap you just give a good tug and it clicks back on after cleaning. Just to add I’ve seen some reviews saying about rust, I’m guessing they’re not leaving the lid open to thoroughly dry. Glad you mentioned that
Lemon is acid and bicarb is alkaline, so if you mix them they neutralise each other and turn into water and a salt. I seem to remember this is simple chemistry. So how does it clean?
@@Peter-xn7wg I used white vinegar alone and it worked really well. I also took the wire guard off to get into the lid more. I have gone back to using my halogen oven for all I can as it stays a lot cleaner and when it needs cleaning it's easy.
@barbaracaygill3317,when cooking is finished I leave the oven open to save anything baking on. I wipe the oven down with a damp soapy cloth after every use even things that don't splash . If its something that could splash or I notice anything I remove the racks and bottom tray. Spray the over with Fairy Power Wash, leave for a few minutes and wipe off using a clean cloth or silicone scourer on harder to clean bits. The racks and bottom tray are sprayed and wiped too .. After I've done that if needed I'll repeat the process
@@inthekitchenwithpenn1 thank you. I’ll give it a try later, I think I might buy a handheld steam cleaner. I kept getting “add pot” when the pot was already in and i pressure cooked half a leg of lamb. It said add pot 3 times while building up pressure and ruined the lamb. Thanks for your help and this video, I’ll be using your method as I get home. Have a great day 👍🏻👨🍳
@@inthekitchenwithpenn1 that should be the link for amazon steam cleaner, I can’t see why it wouldn’t work, it’s your idea that made me think of it! Thanks ☺️ it says it’s an oven cleaner too with attachments. I think it would work well after doing what you did but saves trying to wipe in between the heating element. I have a ninja toaster oven that is very hard to get clean so maybe the steam cleaner would work better on that as I’ve tried everything else.
Heya, we pressure cooked some milk, honey & papaya to make a sweet dessert... And ended up needing to clean the lid! I steamed a few times, and will try the pressure cooking mode you have shown here. But do you have other tips to get dried milk on the other side of the spiral coil please? Thanks
This made little dots of the coating peel off the pot, and Ninja win't replace under warranty. What's worse, I can't even get a replacement. This has been several weeks now.
@@inthekitchenwithpenn1 My thoughts as well now, but I foolishly said exactly what happened. I think that is the reason that there are no replacements-they had a bad batch. Luckily I have a halogen oven to use meanwhile and being glass that is easy to keep clean. I have used white vinegar and water in that successfully.
@@inthekitchenwithpenn1 Mine is the 11in 1 so it won't fit, and I can't find one that will. If the Ninja one is available you could buy four nearly at that pice!
Ive got the bronze/copper colour one but i dont seem to have the pressure cooking options, the only one i can choose is pressure? Giving this a go as i post this as im sad to say that without taking mine apart i cant get to the hard to reach places so hopefully this does the trick!
Followed this to the letter and it wrecked the bottom of the pot.The bottom coating came off straight after I emptied the contents out. In my experience.....I wouldn't do this again. Got to purchase a new pot now....not ideal.

@dianeo2224 once again thank you . Be sure to let all your friends know because as you know I do other cooks too
Penny, you are the Queen of Ninja, and I trust in you sister! My English blood here in the USA is very proud of you! Cheers, and God Bless!
Thank you ever so much for sharing your cleaning tips. You are amazing.

Thank goodness for your videos! I just got one recently and it’s fair to say that all my confidence in using it has come from watching you work! ❤❤❤

The pink stuff miracle cleaning paste works a treat on the top part used with a scrub daddy

I've got a quick clean video here ua-cam.com/video/Exe0JQ70ryU/v-deo.html
Thank you for your video it was helpful. One question, how do you clean the fan in the smart lid? Thank you.
@oreo3050 your can use a torx 15 screwdriver to remove the cover to clean it , but do NOT do this if your 15in1 is still under warranty
Cleaning mine ahead of Christmas dinner! I'll let you know in 40 minutes how it went!

mine was a week coffee/strong tea color, hard to believe...

Good video, thank you - one thing I would say from a personal perspective, I would unplugg from the wall before touching any elements just to be safe!
Great tip!

@@rinklestiltskin very well
Maybe better to use lemon alone then follow up with bicarbonate of soda.

Game changer but would have liked camera more central on lid
💕Schön gemacht !😁
Probably best to unplug it when cleaning the element
should have shown b4 and after
So if I use pressure cooker to make food it will release all that dirt into my food?
No , the brown is from the lemon it's

Thank you. Mine hss started showing an error message about the lid not shut properly
Check that the seal is in correctly and the button is down under the pot

@rinklestiltskin I would suggest there waa an issue with your pot to start . I do this regularly as do others without that happening

How do you get rid of lemon taste inside after cleaning

No , I know some people have reported that using a dishwasher tablet does cause damage

Gosh I'm so sorry to read this . I've done this numerous times now with no ill effects
Mine shed millions of little spots and no replacements are available.
Turn the power off before using the sponge
That’s exactly what I was thinking
Here in the uk we turn off the switch on the socket, she should be fine. Still, wouldn’t risk that
We didn't see how dirty it was ?
The white sponge used gives some indication
Would have been better to see before wiping. Otherwise very good. Thank you
what is bicarb?
It is bicarbonate of soda
You should have really turned the foodi off and unplugged from the wall before doing the top clean
So how do you operate it if its unplugged??
CAN'T HEAR YOU!!
No need to shout lol. There are closed captions on the video if that helps
