  • Rodenticides can be a great solution to eliminate rats, but with so many varieties of rat baits, which one would work best for you?
In this video, Pest Control Experts Ken & Walt describe several different baits that are effective on rats to help you make a more informed decision.
*Always place and store rodenticides in areas where pets and children cannot reach, or in a tamper resistant bait station.
*Some states have restrictions on certain rodenticides. Ask one of our experts to learn which products are allowed in your state.

Is it recommended to mix different types of baits in a single tamper resistant station (Ambush)?

The prevailing thought is to use one bait at a time and switch baits every three to six months. I know some folks who put two different baits in at the same time and have been very successful doing that. Neither way is wrong.

What’s recommended for home use? I’d buy Final, but 18 pounds is a bit much.

We would recommend either Take Down or Flatline! You can purchase them in smaller quantities and they are both soft baits which makes them more palatable for rodents.

Norway rat has kicked out of his hole any bait block variation I toss down there - I gave up trying to get him into a bait station or even a Humane trap. I've spent a fortune in the past year and want him (and likely more of him/litter) out of my walls Before they end up in my otherwise emaculate home. In a quad (one-story unit attached to three other folks) and its in an HOA community. HOA does nothing and exterminators are useless. Walls would have to be opened up on these slab-on-grade, only ten year old, condos. I am thinking it is best to move, if it will pass inspection. Five inspectors so far say, "they are not in the attic, Yet")

Final is great. Contrac used to be good. Mice just don't eat it in eastern pa anymore.

In the Houston area Contrac still works amazingly For roof rats and mice out here
Idk if you have deer mice or some other species or why they wouldn’t go for it

Killed my ducks, my neighbors cat and an iguana. Praying for my dog. Someone put a clump on the lawn

That is very unfortunate. Most products today have a bittering agent that keep non-target animals from eating it. SO hopefully that won't happen again.
