One of my biggest regrets in life was moving away from this amazing town. I used to work in the oil fields and worked EMS (Goldcross) and I will tell you that this amazing town truly has everything any outdoorsman would love. Hiking the petroglyphs in Dryfork canyon was breath taking. Kayaking Red fleet, rafting the gates of lodore, hunting in the book cliffs, Red cloud loop camping, and so much more. I hope to one day retire in this beautiful town.
I haven't been back to Vernal since my family passed through there in the summer of 1966. I was ten years old, and we stayed at the Diamond Hills Motel, which is where we ate dinner and breakfast the next morning at the motel restaurant.
