Back then, there was a lot of fluff in the lyrics of the popular songs. Jim’s songs were more intelligent and thoughtful. The meanings were deeper. From the beautiful guitar music, to the beautiful lyrics, to Jim’s sweet voice, every song of his is a joy to listen to. RIP Jim! Gone way too soon. But I’m thankful for the legacy of music you left for us.
What a tragedy. I was 12 when these men passed and loved their music from day one. I can’t even fathom what their music catalog would look like today if they weren’t taken so soon.
Absolutely! No auto tune or AI when music was still real. Maury was also an absolutely amazing guitarist and vocalist. One of those legendary partnerships of 2 legends!
What a genius song writer he was. To compare being on the cross to someone trying to change their significant other, I don't think any other song writer could have wrote it better.
My eyes were watering from the start of the video, I have never heard a better remaster... The tears came when he sang that last chorus so clear 😢 Thank you for remastering this, from the bottom of my heart.
Glad to have you here. Music and the feelings it provokes are an elegant universal language. Also, a lot of the Google platforms now have built-in translation so we can all share with a lot more people, chestnut multiple languages like I’ve done here kkkkkkkkkk Tratar de hacerte comprender es lo importante. Estoy agradezco que estés aquí a compartir con nos. Fala inglês muito bem
I was lucky enough to see Jim and Maury live in Balboa Park when I was stationed at Balboa Naval Hospital. The park was right across the street from the hospital . It was in 72 I'm so glad I got to see them when I did. A real tragedy when they died.I will always remember, ber that concert.
My first album ever I bought was Jim Croce in 1973, listening back this really beautiful song it still soothes my heart. He went unfortunately far too soon. I am grateful for his legacy🙏🏻
I remember an interview with Crazy Eddie or someone on Pix!! on NYC radio back in the early 1970s. It was days of interviews with Jim. He was hilarious! Not only was he a great singer, but he could have been a comedian!
You hear his beautiful songs and guitar playing by Jim and Maury....It's horrible to think that he believed he didn't have "it". Heading home to give up on music.
Perhaps, this great tune was guided by Christ on the Cross of Calvary. For Jim, though, it was just human that he couldn't afford, martyr-like, to hang, for love's sake, on the Cross.

Such immense talent. And so tragic both these men perished in a plane crash. The world lost two amazing people that day.
So true. Thanks to whomever posts these videos. Classy, heartfelt, soulful, and sweetly played by two people I don't want to forget about.
😢❤his music keeps me grounded…
One of the purest, most humble and amazing voices the world was blessed with❤
I still cry for these two wonderful men, life is so cruel,Rip both of you
Ain't it the truth, man. Ain't it just the sad damned truth.
Too true
What a tragedy. I was 12 when these men passed and loved their music from day one. I can’t even fathom what their music catalog would look like today if they weren’t taken so soon.
JUST 2 FRIGGING GUITARS......AWESOME! GENUINE SPLENDID music and TRUTH......poetry in motion RESPECT JIM
Absolutely! No auto tune or AI when music was still real. Maury was also an absolutely amazing guitarist and vocalist. One of those legendary partnerships of 2 legends!
May God rest them both. May they still be making music together.
What a genius song writer he was. To compare being on the cross to someone trying to change their significant other, I don't think any other song writer could have wrote it better.
I love Jim Croce and adore this song.
Maury and Jim, God Bless.
Iconic Croce this song still makes my cry about a girl from 1978-79 Goodbye Cecilia...
My eyes were watering from the start of the video, I have never heard a better remaster... The tears came when he sang that last chorus so clear 😢
Thank you for remastering this, from the bottom of my heart.
