Great Shtuff Dude. Just bought one and an 18mm lens. It's a daunting piece of kit. Seem to be constantly doing my homework with videos and research rather than venturing out. It certainly ain't easy, but input like yours is consise, clear and very helpful. Thanks man. Fair play.
I FINALLY got a decent San Disk 300mb UHS II card for my X-H1. Time for some fun. It's a measly 64 gig card, but I gotta eat, right? So, you didn't mention shutter speed in your video segment. Twice the frame rate is the golden rule, right? So, shooting 120 frames a sec slo mo I should be up around 1/250th, no?
Looking forward to getting my XH-1 through the post in a few days! I keep seeing pictures of Fujifilm cameras with that little red disc hanging from the side, can I ask what it’s for?
@@samvholt ah, thank you, I was thinking they were some new high tech gadget to enhance peoples photography skills or a special fob to get into an exclusive secret photography club somewhere!
My newly acquired camera is Fujifilm X-S1 camera, and the video footage is always dark even when I got enough room light. Is the a setting fot best low light videos? I am trying to to make youtube videos at night in my room, which is the only time I got time for it? Thnx
I always shoot video in manual. My advice is if you’re shooting in lower light, adjust your shutter to 1/50 (if shooting at 25fps), open up your aperture to its widest point and increase your ISO to balance your exposure. Try and get next to a window if possible.
yep enjoyed that mate so thanks. I do have a question. I have my XH1 and when using video the buttons on the top do not work..... would there be a reason for that?
Which buttons are you referring to? If you are shooting in full manual then the exposure comp won’t do anything as you’re dialling in all your exposure.
I had that weird thing happening....my built in ND filter was ON...( i had no idea it had one!!) , however, I had no idea on how to turn it off ( or on)!!!!!! so, I had to 'reset the whole camera!!! any idea how this ND thing does turn on & off ??
Since the word is the camera does not have an ND filter, something must have appeared to emulate it. For instance, using a 16-50 3.5 lens, when changed from 16 to 50, the lens will go from f3.5 to f5.6. The extended barrel.physically causes this. Yes, there are zooms that don't do this, and they are extremely expensive. If this ND effect occurred when shooting video I can only guess. Frame rate too high?
I have been looking for this video on the internet for a year, at last I've found it, you have just made my life easier, thankyou.

Nice one! Enjoy it Jon. I think that’s most likely for a peak design strap. I have the Cuff and use it all the time.

@@jonharrisphotography No, that's the one with Patrick McGoohan's face on it...

I love my X-H1
I think in movie mode eye detection is off permanent.
