"A lot of new enemies brought in from the SMT games," he says, while a frickin' Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Tachikoma robot is on-screen.
To be completely fair, Tachikoma (and other SAC characters) was at least in one SMT game. Even though it was mobile gacha crossover.
As someone who has finished this mod, and spent quite a while in the server discussing with the creator, don’t worry. It does follow the traditional SMT philosophy where the first half is just trudging through hell, and the back half is where you find one persona that has a pierce skill that cheeses everything. The creator also throws out hints or tips if you really need them in the server.
BULLET WAAASTEEEE!!!!1111!!!!1!!!1
is there any story changes or no
There are not, no. Unless you consider miniboss changes in battle.
If everything is kinda more realistic, then when haru gets one shot kill....
haru was already a boss-buster, one of the strongest party members
@@sakura368 I know this comment Is like 2 months old but yeah, especially when she gets heat riser that makes her really useful later on
sinful shell v2
Haru and Mona were my fave party members in vanilla P5. The 3rd party slot usually went to Ryuji or Ann :b
Win button.
I actually talked to the dude who made this mod. He said it took him 6 months to make and there are superbosses. Skills have Semi-Piece, which ignore defense and natural resistances, but can't bypass Null, Repel, and Drain. With new Personas also comes new items. Signature and Custom Skills can now be passed on. And you can get special Personas, including the ones used by characters in past games and even the Personas of your allies.
Are there tutorials for these mechanics?
@@harrietr.5073 Dunno. I haven't played it myself. Looks interesting, though.
@@SaiyanGamer95 The Power/Moves telling you there the effects and the new Demons and new Powers like Physical Type Chainsaw are cool tho.
I feel like there's "making a game harder" and "making a game blow out your knrecaps" and this mod kinda goes to far in that direction
Seems like the average hardtype to me
Yeah fans of games aren’t really good at balancing
@@fourtruths3324 I think fan balancing can be good if the player chooses to try to you know. Balance it.
You clearly haven't played Dark Souls
@@joshua6994 oh right no I'm wrong. I forgot dark souls like difficulty exists. This isn't the average hardtype then
16:01 Shadow Sae: Wh-What are you doing- Joker: *uses the COCAINE ITEM* HHHHHHHFUCK I’M READY NOW-
All the attacks hitting like 10 times is the best part. Like why
Anyways back to uni got to write 2 scientific reports today lets go
Update: One report down and it be looking mighty fine.
Enjoy the hellish reports!!
Wish you the best of luck with the reports
I've installed mods to persona 5 before and I can confirm that it is an absolute nightmare to set up
Mod managers:
Honestly mod looks more like randomizer than a strategic challenge.Enemies swapping resistances, having fucking nuclear bombs giga ass tornadoes and other shit from lvl 1 and weilding more than three elements is not only overloaded but also random, you can get fucked simply because enemy chose to attack your weakness out of all options. Why gameplay mod that is supposed to be hard is just random instead?
silence
This has become a wall of text and I just want to say that I needed to get this criticism out somewhere:
It's the same guy that made the P4 Nightmare, and I have the same issues there. I like hard games that makes me plan ahead, like harder difficulties on Fire Emblem or Epic Battle Fantasy 5, or some action games with tricky timings or precise combat/movement, like Metroid or Spelunky 2, but when easier games receive hard mods, they usually cater to the top1% of that game/genre and then I lose all interest because I simply can't bother (like some Donkey Kong Country 2 and Paper Mario 64 ROM hacks). There are many good ideas there, like all skills having drawbacks, debuffs being way more useful, the detailed descriptions, new personas/enemies and many QoL changes, but all that is behind a game with core design choices that pushes me away.
Just the secret weakness mechanic was enough to made me lose all interest on the P4 Nightmare, it makes no sense for me that the game actually lies to the player and banks on trial and error on a _strategic_ game, and I can't see how it is on the P5 Re-imagined because the thread on GameBanana is private and the other link is for Patreons. I get what it wants to do, it's a neat idea for another risk/reward system, but I feel it has no place in a game if the only way to do it is by lying/deceiving the player. If there was different percentages of weakness and resist that made actual sense, like:
Any negative is drain with that % of strength
0% is null
1~75% is resist
76~124% is normal
Above 125% is weak
Separate flag for repel that turns attacks back at given percentage of power
THEN it would be interesting. There could be two weaknesses on a given enemy, but one is more effective for dealing damage, and the other is just for baton passing, for example. And the resist/repel/drain skills could have different percentages, just like there's dodge (2x evasion) and avoid (3x evasion) skills, there could be a Resist 25%, Resist 50% and Resist 75%.
I get that modding games is hard because you usually can't change a lot, especially in modern games, but I still feel this one is a bit too overloaded. Again, I can't say for sure, and *all I'm saying is based on this video and the P4 mod*, so maybe he received some feedback and these mechanics for the P5 one are a bit less harsh, or it'll be another "cool, but I can't dedicate all of my free time for it, I'll just watch the videos" for my ever-growing list of fan projects (looking at you, Fire Emblem Eligor's Spear and Paper Mario Master Quest). Again, I understand that there are many interpretations of "hard version", but this one left me a "harsh version" instead...
PS: there's a Sonic Robo Blast 2 mod that transforms the game into Persona 3 with Sonic characters, and there's a rogue-like mode with randomized weaknesses for every enemy. It also has good descriptions and some content from the Q and Q2 games, as well as lots of QoL changes. Also, it's a free mod for a free game, so be sure to check out if you found this one too harsh!
Yeah, this seems to lean way more towards artificial difficulty. You from a one shot before even your 10tg battle. There's no strategy you can use in that short time span. It's just luck that you have to rely on. This is not a good mod. And I agree with the trial and error point, it's a strategy game. Once you have the info that should be enough
@@theazfar921116 to be fair smt is well not on point with this it can still happen there. It happens trust me.
Difficulty is enjoyable when properly balanced. This is really not that.
Yeah like 5 mins in seems like every attack is a high crit phy attack or a magical Hassou Tobi attack which just seems unfun to deal with, don't really understand the difficulty aspect at all tbh cause it's just survive until the midgame where you get nulls/repel skill slots which is just not fun tbh
Yeah tbh this looks like a mess
As cool as importing personas, demons and attacks is, I actually don't like this kind of mods thay try to make the game "harder" by powercreep instead of taking advantage of the mechanics. It feels really artificial and there's little to no strategy involved in just hoping for the enemy to not blow you up this turn.
An example of a good rebalance mod would be Persona 3's New Moon patch. It not only rebalances skills, party members, etc, but also improves AI, imports new personas and skills, fixes reaaaally easy bosses (you-know-who) and adds qol improvements like extending de/buffs. It makes the game harder, yea, but not by giving every enemy a fuck-the-player skill for them to abuse, but by embracing the mechanics and building upon them
Wait they made the first "last fight with a S.T.R.E.G.A. member" fight harder?
Oooh, there's the game mechanics used for storytelling out the window.
Another example of a good rebalance mod, would be SMT Nocturne Hardtype Hack. It's harder, but nothing too crazy for the experienced player.
@@OrionEJ nocturne hard type enjoyer. Respect
I'd love to see more of this !
Keep up the good work
Yeah this doesn't seem great. Its an awesome idea thats clearly got a lot of effort put in, but it doesnt feel like a 'harder' version, it feels like a 'lunatic plus' version. Its not trying to make it fair and fun, its a 'fuck you'
Its a real shame since all the other changes seem really cool, but its then dragged down by bs difficulty and you still game over if protag dies.
The difficulty also has this snowball effect where because they made it too hard, they have to give broken skills and items from the get go which basically destroys the sense of progression in your team imo.
A better example of a rebalance would be the new moon rebalance patch for p3fes.
That’s the point though. It’s meant as an absolutely broken “fuck you” difficulty.
@@cielo498 It isn't. They said at first it was meant to be a difficulty mod, but it changed later on in the project, hence 'Reimagined' rather than 'kaizo' or something. If it was projected as a difficulty mod rather than a rebalancing I'd be fine with it, but it doesnt rebalance anything really.
@@TrueForm it's definitely more of a "Dark Souls Ascended Mod" than a "Dark Souls Convergence Mod", if you understand that. it's the closest thing i could compare it to, since ive never seen stuff like this before, honestly
I fking love all your persona videos, its a pity that i cant see the streams on live but i will support you on youtube at least, keep the great work and im going to sleep because now in my country its 4 in the morning xD
@JackBenci - since this is Vanilla and not Royal, the "Slap Your Friend" move is actually useful. During Royal if one of your party is afflicted by an ailment like despair, there's a chance one of your allies will slap them and say something like "get it together!" That will cure the ailment.
This looks like it does that.
The move description says it only cures Jealousy though
You do know that Harisen Recovery was a thing in vanilla too, right?
Always a good day when Jack uploads
Welcome back, wish you a good luck for those reports. Can't wait to see you back streaming man :)
Would love to see more! I barely got past the first controllable Mona fight lol took way too long
Such a cool mod, and I loved reading the modders commentary in your chat 👍
This is exactly like the "Ascended" Dark Souls/Elden Ring mods. Just haphazard over the top shit everywhere, things super hard early on for no reason, bizarre changes to certain items, and overpowered things available to you from the start for seemingly no reason other than "enemies use broken stuff so here's some broken stuff for free".
This is not how you make a difficulty mod lol
This stream was so fun to watch
Please post more episodes! this shit is so good to watch
No idea how i missed this stream, It seems like it cause Jack great amounts of suffering
15:40 'I can buy Ebola'. That one got me.
I'm gonna be honest, cool mod and all, but it just doesn't look fun. There's nothing appealing to me about the possibility of getting one shot at any point by any enemy. It just looks like a massive headache at absolute best. Like everything else looks great, the new skills, new items, new personas, but then the "difficulty" just throws me off of even considering considering it
So this mod basically makes it bloodborne or elden ring where alot people can one shot
@@KaelynGamez calling this comparable to elden ring or Bloodborne is just asanine. The games are too different to compare like that. In those games, there's always something you can do to avoid a hit if you're skilled enough, things like evade elec or high counter in p5 are 100% reliant on rng
@@KaelynGamez BB & ER are fair challenges. This is cheap and just completely not fun.
really? this look REALLY FUN, persona 5 was boring because is too easy, now this mod adds a real challenge tp the game
@@nano__4601 getting one shot before getting the chance to do anything isn't a challenge, it's just cheap
OH dude i’m in the server for this mod. i installed it on release day this mod is really good. hard as FUCK but really good
damn dem Dx2 models are really comin in handy
Please God let this continue, this shit was hilarious
I love fan made ultra hard mods. I can't wait to see more of this one
"We're back in the original P5, so it's not actually P5R, sorry." Yknow Jack, TECHNICALLY, it's not even OG P5, it's P5Re
Imagine grinding to level 99 in the first Palace with this mod
Can't wait to see the fan art coming out of this.
This like how new moon is in persona 3 fes but, with the nightmare mod on steroids
Ayyy you got the streamscheme template
I’m just thinking how hard a certain cup fight and the fight of his beefed up form is in this-
Is there going to be a second part to this? I really would like to see it
so basically you are playing an actual SMT game at this point
There is no SMT game that is that hard
@@yorgo2255 then i recommend strange journey or DDS2
@@justyais I played both multiple times (hell, I played almost every megaten games) and they aren't as hard as this mod.
@@yorgo2255 then ill try my hand on this. sounds fun, thanks for the headsup!
never gonna understand this kind of meme like sure its hard but it's not the hardest thing eevr made
persona 5, exactly how I remember it.
It would've been a really cool mod if they didn't have some of the most broken skills known to man it would've been better if the those skills were at least near the end of the game
20:50. Listening while I do something else. Then he just starts laughing maniacally. And... yeah, I see why.
8:30 *Physical* Damage? What if you get something for an ally that nulls/absorbs physical damage? just a 28hp all stats up for them? sounds pretty good to me ngl
But can you beat persona 5 royal without fast travel?
The “what the fuk” made me subscribed 😭😭😭
personally, I'm a bit ticked off that so many traditionally higher-level demons are showing up in the *first dungeon.*
10:42 IS THAT FUCKIN DAVID? give him that ZIOOOOOOOOO
MAMA MIO
When you're here after the Madarame stream and you remember he hasn't discovered the ultimate strat yet smh
the battle mechanics is kinda the SMT x FE nightmare people wanted xD
5:38
Ah, a man of culture I see (song choice)
Have you played a hat in time
My proudest achievement to this day is finishing my playthrough of this mod
How was the rest of the mod? This looks like Nocturne on crack already so im more curious than anything
@@williammarick3541 Its very hard, especially the later bosses but its pretty fun
Finally, we've achieved the real SMT game.
Also I can hear Another Eden’s Brilliant Streamers OST in the background while Layer Cake was playing…
My theory is that someone said that this song goes harder with the violins than Monark
As someone who has played Dx2 by atlus most of the new enemies are from Dx2 the weaknesses might have been carried over in to the mods
Damn, she really turned to a backstreet doctor 🤣🤣🤣
Full playthrough please!
someone out here really thought to make persona 5 Kizo
Smt players: you will get used to it.
To anyone who's played this does it just increase enemy HP stats or does it do other things like make enemies cast more ailments, have higher defense, atk, etc.?
Ive seen that mod before i wish i could play the mod
"Blue Persona is just Persona 3."
Based.
What is the mech thing from Ghost in The Shell here?!
So what song was playing during the Kamoshida fight because it kicked so much ass dude.
Find Your One Way - Guilty Gear OST
this is botw relics of the past mod for persona 5
When Persona gets modded into SMT difficulty. Lol
When palace rulers smoke crack
I can see why Persona would be harder to mod than most SMT games. Feel like unless the party members were massively buffed, they’re complete ass compared what you could team build on your own.
This looks absolutely ridiculous.
FUTABA U SAID THEY WERE NO THREAT!
how did you download this mod on playstation?
its on pc with ps3 emulator
Please make video haw to install Reimagined mod i try and i get black window with joker logo hat and it stop there please help ty
Overly difficult games just aren't my thing. I get way too worked up when I'm playing a game and the harder it is, the madder I get 😂. It's the reason I haven't played any of the Soulsbourne games. I like a challenge don't get me wrong, but when I game I wanna relax. Not punch my thigh and scream at the tv 😂😂😂😂😂
10:43 why is he a random encounter…
Also hit that bastard with ZIO
Where’s part 2?
9:42 Lol
ur laugh broooo
marukai? Mar-rue-key
IIRC the modder said u can play in safety or a easier mode tho it will be unbalanced
Or maybe I thinking of a different mod
If it true even tho it will be unbalanced I think it will still be hard but less hard than this which is great if that is true
They challenge kamoshida at 16-17? I challenged him at 20
Ez
You lose GG
nocturne hardtype 2
nah, noc ht was at least fair, even on hard, this just looks like bullshit: the videogame
I'd like to personally call this mod the 'SMT branded "Your going to Die"'
This just looks like normal difficulty SMT
Persona 5: elden ring
Persona 5 with NORMAL SMT DIFFICULTY
Still way easier than Nocturne.
Nope.
Oh so this mod turns P5 into an actual game? Seems promising.
This isn't difficulty, it's random crap for the sake of randomness. Shit mod
