I use the Turbosound Inspire IP300 Active for my tops/highs and a pair of Behringer 18" subs and I get so many compliments on how clear and how great the whole system sounds. Also using driverack. If I need more highs for larger crowds then I run 4 tops. Great sound with less cost...
I would like to buy IP300 as top speakers on 15" subwoofers for smaller events, but I'm only worried about 122dB, is it enough for smaller events of 50-100 people? Do they work at the upper limit and do they even have reserves if necessary? I'm worried they won't be loud enough as the top speaker
I had the RCF 515 w/TTS15 combo and it worked great. I used them through the spring and summer weddings. Ended up selling the 515 on reverb for the same money I paid. Kept the TT15 Subs and now pair them with TT10 tops. Sounds insane. Also have had the Maui 44G2 since early 2022 for slightly smaller gigs. The LD's are great too!
Oh, I see you did keep one. I remember when you had both on Reverb. I’m itching to pick up another stick since I already have the two sub2s that I run with Turbosound ip300s. Just running out of gear room in my garage and hate letting speakers that I may just use a couple of times go.
The best and strongest 15" subwoofer you can buy in the commercial 15" subwoofer series is the Yamaha dxs15mkII. 135 db, they are louder than most 18" woofers, the sound quality and the speaker build quality is brutal. They are heavy, but they also have a 7-year warranty. Whatever you put on top of them, you'll be able to do events for up to 200 people for sure, maybe more. I use 2x Yamaha DXS18XLF subs in combination with 2x Yamaha dxr12" upper speakers. I do weddings of 200-300 people with it without any problems, and I also have plenty of reserve. I also have a small system, RCF evox J8, which I only use for events of up to 50 people. 50-100 people I use 1x 18" yamaha sub, over 100 people I have 2 subs. Plenty of reserve, and the sound is perfection.
I found you have to run the gain all the way up to get any kind of decent output. I use them in venues that have great resonance, like rooms with wood floors and walls. Concrete or high ceiling venues I use the Evox 12's or the J8's. Honestly you would be surprised at the difference from venue to venue with the bass response. I do weddings mostly 100-150 average guest count. Lately the Evox J8's have served me well. If I had it to do over again I prob would not buy them. But, I do love the fact I can load the whole setup on one cart.
If you guys had to choose between the RCF j8 or RCF mk3 12 subs pair with qcs cp12, which one would get you the best bang for you buck? The RCF and qsc pairs it's only $700 more of an investment between.
Just ordered 2 x sub 905 mk3 with 2 art 910's. Hoping this set up will solve all the problems. Have been waiting for RCF to release subs that visually match the 9 series. Sub 905 mk3 are so small and light for the power they put out. Time will tell...
I got ART 912-AX + 905. I can say that its OK, but maybe I will switch my subs to 8003-s if I get a van some day :) The good thing with 912-s is that they never distort. Also, 912-AX have built in crossover presets for various RCF subs, that make life much easier. I just had my first gig with these and I asked my client about the sound - they said that its incredible - so clear and no noise and no tinnitus in their ears after the party :) Probably I am going to get also NX 190A at some point as their wooden cabinets and the smaller woofer on top will probably pair petter with 905-s. But I will also keep my ART 912-s as there is no better speaker for outdoor mic situation than these bad boys. I used to have RCF J8 set in the past - they had a lot of punch on the bottom but for the mic, that top small speaker is not sufficient - these small drivers are not producing not enough sound pressure to press through larger areas or crowds.
This is what I’m using expect I needed the 910AX tops and for most event I honestly cannot ask for more the bass is adequate not life changing but I can move them easily and fits in my car much easier than a full size 18. I’m actually so. Think it can get better without going larger. In every way.
You crack me up bro! I’m glad you can run around the hampster wheel for us before we jump on the hype wagon 😂. Spinelli convinced me the the J8’s are incredible and I disagree. Good speaker but has to be cranked all the way up and definitely doesnt sound as good as my Ev 50s. Sidebar: I bought that Flow 8 mixer you had and it sounds like shit compared to Mackie analog mixer. I can’t get the EQing right.

I use a pair of black rcf j 8 for my smaller gigs. Looking into Maui 28 g3 white would you say comparable to rcf or better. Don't worry I will listen to them before I purchase
Very close. I'm gonna say this...I just took my J8s out for my last gig. They sounded....AMAZING. 28s sound better at quiet volume, but RCF edges them out when at loud. They never clipped and super loud on the dance floor. I think.......they have the edge
If you want a sub for all occasions for your life - get 18' subs. There is always a tradeoff somewhere - portability vs sound pressure & frequencies. But Jason also recommended to have TWO pairs of 808s if using that set. I also suspected that just one pair of these subs may not be sufficient.
I feel bad for ya on the L you took but I saw it coming, that speaker was literally imo all show no go, a unique new approach but is asking drivers that are just too small to do too much. Hope you find your last speaker, but I just gotta say you care way more about speakers than any if the thousands of people you've entertained, you're obviously talented and if you'd just find a speaker you're happy with you'll be both talented as hell, and much wealthier lol. Happy holidays bud, give me a call in your down time!
I definitely knew these 515 were all hype. its just physics. small subs don't produce loud bass in very low frequencies. I finally bought RCF tops and they are very bright! they sound like they require a mixer to tune them removing the highs adding low mids.
Do you regret selling your Bose l1 pro 32s? Finally had the chance to run just one three days in a row doing a music showcase for a variety of acts from solo comic to solo violinist to 6 piece Bee Gee tribute band to my own DJ set and was blown away by the ability of the speaker to sound great throughout the whole room.
I don't. Still have one set but don't use it much. I think they are better with lower sounding music, singer/songwriters. DJs need a bit more. I'm looking forward to taking out the Maui 44s this season

Can’t fight the laws of physics. We used to never worry about weight and loadout, only sound. You can compromise, but there are certain dimensions we may have to work within. Now we want it to be tiny and easy and give giant sound. Okay, EVOX12, ART and NX cabinets from RCF kill. So do the HDL line array. Go with one of those, or really throw your money down on Meyer. Lol. To me, the L1pro 32 sounds like scooped dog shit. Sub2 is alright, but that 32 column is weak and thin because it’s trying to cover 180 from floor to max height. We all have different ears and applications.
I've just ordered my second 808 in the hope they would together sound better. Sounds like I shouldn't have bothered! I need something that kinda size though, are the cheaper Bose Sub 2s actually better? I'm using wtih TT10s, would love the TTS15s but I'm carrying all my gear myself and it has to be stored up a narrow flight of stairs, so anything over 30kg is too heavy really. Did you try the Sub2 at the same time as the 808s? I was wondering if I could add one to try to get that extra depth to the sound. (A sub for my subs!!)
I did the double 808 combo. It definitely had a better bass sound. The Sub 2 clips pretty quick. I wouldn't suggest that. The tough spot we're in as mobile DJs is needing big bass at a light weight. Not sure this system exists. The closest to 30kg might be the RCF Evox 12s
@@AaronStrawn many thanks, will see how they sound when my second 808 turns up, and look at the Evox if I'm still not happy. Great vids btw, informative and really entertaining! :D

The problem you are having with the system is the 808s suck! I returned them the first week after they came out! But the 515s are amazing for their size. The issue you are having with the 515 tops is you have to really send them a loud and hot signal, Then they come alive! Try it!

@@AaronStrawn The market doesn’t need that for at least 2 more years. I can’t see anything wrong with the G2. It’s simply the best in its class :)
Sell them and get anything else i love rcf but these are not there best they have you have to know when to say something is not good no matter what brand
They GONE!
Next time don’t believe the hype
I can't help it!
