- Tony Stewart Racing Team Owner Tony Stewart is a longtime Friend of the Freaks. Stewart is a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, winning two as a driver (2002, 2005), one as owner/driver (2011), and one as an owner (2014). Last year he won an NHRA title as the owner of Matt Hagan’s Funny Car. Now Stewart has stepped into the Top Fuel dragster nearly driven to a World Championship last year by his wife Leah Pruett. It’s a huge step for Stewart. The Top Fuel car is nearly twice the speed of his NASCAR Cup car. He talked with Kenny Sargent about the steep learning curve he’s going through this season.

when tony was in negociations with joe gibbs before driving the 20 car.JGR was in NHRA & tony joked with joe about the top fuel car.its amazing how things change.looks like smoke got his old wish.except now he OWNS the top fuel team.
I’m glad Tony is enjoying racing and life again. In my opinion he got out of NASCAR at a good time , Current NASCAR management is really draining the sport . Tony is married now and expecting a child and enjoying life again. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time , since his early midgets and sprint car days. I wish the best for him and his family.
I'm glad Smoke is running NHRA. I love most all forms of motorsports.
