Thank you BBC and Firas Kilani for updating us on the tragic situation in Sudan. The conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza dominate most of the coverage at this juncture. Truly heart-rending to witness this destruction and suffering. Prayers for a resolution and for reconstruction of the country. The Sudanese are a lovely, gentle people; difficult to imagine that this could have happened - that they find themselves suffering at the hands of their own countrymen.
We went to Sudan in November of 2022 a few months before the war started. We traveled from the frontier with Egypt overland to Khartoum for 10 days and have many videos on our channel showing what this wonderful country was like before the war.
I apologize for my insensitivity towards the tragedy in Sudan. However, it is important to reflect on the historical context before the split of Sudan and South Sudan. The Christian population in the south was subjected to mistreatment, massacres, and brutalities, including those in Darfur. These atrocities were committed by the same people who are now engaged in conflict with each other. The distressing images we witness serve as a reminder of the suffering endured by the South Sudanese for more than five decades. With a lack of infrastructure and development, South Sudan had to start from scratch. Furthermore, despite international evidence of genocide in Darfur, the Sudanese government has denied these allegations. It appears that the Sudanese people are facing consequences for the atrocities committed against the South Sudanese. The concept of karma suggests that one's actions will eventually catch up to them and result in punishment for their sins.
oil. The RSF are the genocidal milita. The army let them loose on black 'rebels' in darfur, and now they want the whole country. I went to school with people who survived them in kenya. Sadly, sudan has been led by the army since independence.
Hope peace and understanding brings back the life on right track sir . Politicians r rhw culprits . Regardless of ones beliefs they r fighting for self gain and the main suffering r the people of thw ground who know nothing . Let peace shalom shalom.
I was born and grow up in Khartoum Sudan, I have witnessed wars in all forms, but what is happening now in Sudan is horrible and I really don’t know for how long this suffering will continue, but I hope it will stop now.
But South Africa is busy dragging Israel to ICJ whereas their African Brothers and sisters are witnessing war crimes. South Africa will definitely regret. I pity the victims 😢
I'm a bit ignorant and new to this subject so do you mind if I ask you in what ways is South Africa responsible doe helping the people of sudan? Also what business does south Africa have talking about Israel? What's South Africas connection to these two countries?
Leave South Africa alone. This is an Islamic problem. Let UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar intervene in Sudan. We have our own issues as a country. Even those South Africans dragging Israel to court are Muslims just using our country - that Naledi Pandor with here swollen feet and the Adila Hassim Yemen woman.
It's a pity that innocent people suffer like this and my question is where's are they getting weapons from you might find that the third force destabilize the country like this in order to steal the resources quietly.
Sudan and Libya were once the powerhouses of Africa...it's very sad to see how these countries have deteriorated. Peace is the most important ingredient in any country's development.
I’am from Croatia/Europe. We never heard about this in our media. Almost no news from Africa at all, as if that continent doesen’t exist. This is shame and tragedy. Why nobody can stop this madness?
The Ukraine and Gaza war literally eclipsed the Sudan and Ethiopian wars. Its history repeating itself, when a European or Middle East conflict happens, one in Africa gets forgotten. Best example is the 1990s Yugoslavia/Balkan wars happened and Rwanda got forgotten and saw the worst genocide in modern history.
The Janjaw33d Arabs and other warmongering Arab groups in Sudan made it h3ll for all people they view as outsiders , like the all the different native African tribes in Darfur, say the Fur tribe, etc. And according to the United Nations Human Development Index, South Sudan is the harshest country in the world. Definitely because of the Arabs
These are different people Sudan is big, this conflict stems from Omar Albashir's handling of Darfur and then Yemen later on, today South Sudan is an independent country.
Thank you BBC Africa.A heart breaking and devastating tragedy. It is unfortunate that this conflict has been neglected by a majority of the western media.
I feel so sorry for my brothers and sisters of Sudan. I pray peace will return to Sudan. I want to visit Khartoum in the future but I can't if there is war in the country.
I saw one reporter in Sudan pray that Israel would attack their country just to make people around the world know that what happened in Gaza is far worse than what is happening in Sudan and the world forget that Mas Murder is always happening everyday village by village, mostly committed by RSF. And no one really cared about them, and most of the victims were Muslim.
It's not a matter of religion. DRC is a predominantly Christian county and they are going through hell too. Check on it. We Africans should give coverage and not wait for the West. It's majorly because we're blacks, not religion, because coverage is given on Palestine, a Muslim country. Let us pray for unification of Africa instead of constantly killing each other and hating each other because of difference in religion which is to bring peace
When i was visiting Sudan in 2008, people were complaining against Omar. I said, then get rid of it. Their answar was: each time we do this, it gets even worse. How true was that
I'm Sudanese-American, and I cannot express how undeserving the Sudanese people are of this war. The Sudanese are known throughout Africa and the Middle East for being some of the most peaceful and loving people on Earth. Prior to the war, Khartoum was one of the safest capitals in Africa. My family lost everything. We lost our homes and properties, and all of our possessions. My mom's friend lost 100k USD after the RSF raided her home. My family risked their lives fleeing to Egypt. I wish the world cared more about our suffering.
The issue ist we don't have any big allies, Obviously the war showed up on all of the arab leagues news and everyone got quickly educated on it but what would we care if Ecuador and cuba went to war and what would they care if we did?
I was a contractor in Sudan as the war broke out. Initially a lot of confusion, even in the two weeks prior to the outbreak of the war, making me think a lot of people knew that there were some sort of security concerns. I’m thankful to have made it out safely and honestly feel for the people of Sudan, it has indeed become a - FORGOTTEN WAR -
Am Ethiopian and I love Sudanian so much and the country too ! Really heart Brocken seeing this really !😢😢 I pray 🙏 for Sudanian and for Ethiopia too . I don't know why the politicians always try to resolve the problems with war 😢?
You expect people to remember this crap. These are just people who are not wise enough to realise that peace is everything. And until they do, they will continue to die. See, there are some Sudanese refugees living in my country, Kenya. And I witnessed how entitled these dudes are. One day, I was in a bus, short distance, the fare was around 20 bob ($.2 ). However, thw destination fare was 50 bob. So, the Sudanese dude who was going to the final destination was asked to pay 50bob and thought he was being conned, because he saw others paying 20 bob. The lady conductor tried explaining patiently, but the dude could not hear of it and was ready to fight. So someone asked him...dude, you are a foreigner escaping war and you want to fight over nothing in a place where you are given peace! It really surprised me. Anyway, life and democracy is about concession. People living in a democracy do not necessarily get satisfaction in every instance, but at they get to live to make a life and future for themselves.
My now wife family lost everything when the collapse happened. Her grandmother starved to death, her uncle shot to death house robbed. Her siblings and mom made it out only because neighbors were armed and were men. Made it to the port, able to get out before the port was hit. Just a mess. 😢
So sad, completely inhumane. Millions deads, millions fleeing, mass looting, women and girls raped snd sold as slaves, mass genocide, complete lack of food, hospitals or simple aids! The scope of brutality in Sudan far exceeds that happening in Gaza!!!! Yet, where are those protesting for humanity every week for Gaza???? If it is for humanity, how come not a single protest went out for what's happening in Sudan!!!!
Sad to see where Sudan is at today 😭😭 We thought when North and South we're fighting was cause by religious differences. But now North and North is fighting itself. And South and South is fighting itself. What do these wicked politicians want in this life? Until when will the innocent continue to suffer??? 😭😭 God have mercy.
Why is not serious or urgent when an issue of humanitarian is in Africa or Arabs..? Kenya 🇰🇪 aided Somalia ,Congo.. Haiti..now who will aid Sudan..Yarrabbi have mercy 😢
Quite frankly very disturbing and heart breaking account, the suffering of the innocent people unfathomable. We pray for Peace in Sudan and beyond. I failed to control tears off my eyes. Oh humanity!
How the people committing these atrocities don’t feel peoples pains beat me, Dear Arab nations all across Asia, African and the Persian gulf, pls it’s time to say enough is enough there’s been too much blood flow already pls save your people stop these bloodshed please and please

Civil war= easy to forget. we work with Sudanese in Qatar, SubhanAllah they can't go home for vacation. we ask Allah to bring back peace in your country. much love for all Muslim ummah from Ug 🇺🇬
In their religious text, there are over 100+ verses encouraging violence against outsiders, conquest by sword in the 7th century and now conquest by small arms today
Non-Muslim countries also have plenty of internal conflicts. Israel (Jew vs Muslim ), Myanmar (Buddhist vs Muslim), India (Hindu vs Muslim), Lebanon (Christian vs Muslim), France (Christian+Non-religious vs Muslim)... 🤷
The truth of the matter is I have not seen more racist a people like Sudanese, who would insist that they are not African but pride themselves in their Arab identity, now too bad for those who are very dark skinned and the genocide happening in Darfur. Even though some of the Sudanese in the west would be more worried about Palestine than what is taking place in their own country. The tragedy of African divisions across ethnic lines is the greatest pitfall of Africa' s growth as a continent and no other places exemplifies this more than Sudan. It is clear that the young generation could be the answer, however if the young generation harbours itself the same ethnocentric sentiments and prejudices and is incapable of freeing themselves of the arabization and Islamic morale superiority complex inherited, Sudan is the next Somalia. A radical change in the mindset of Sudanese needs to occur in order to liberate the nation from the ethno-religious shackles that enslave them. May God have mercy on Sudan.
Yeah sure you can't blame the western governments that support rebel forces for their own benefit. Sudan is a resource-rich muslim country, if you have 1 braincell left you'd understand why it's targeted just like every other muslim country

The Sudanese are a lovely, gentle people; difficult to imagine that this could have happened - that they find themselves suffering at the hands of their own countrymen.
May God see the people of Sudan and relief them from surffering.
pray for sudan..from🇮🇩
We went to Sudan in November of 2022 a few months before the war started.
🤔
How come I've never heard of this?
The Islamic mullans are the principal problem in Sudan. Sundan needs a non-religious government
oil. The RSF are the genocidal milita. The army let them loose on black 'rebels' in darfur, and now they want the whole country. I went to school with people who survived them in kenya. Sadly, sudan has been led by the army since independence.
Christian..Islam..Same Physcotic God..
I'm from sudan 🇸🇩
My country is being destroyed by the hands of it's own people.
Yes... but... empowered by external resources that profit on your instability.
Partition Sudan.
Hope peace and understanding brings back the life on right track sir . Politicians r rhw culprits . Regardless of ones beliefs they r fighting for self gain and the main suffering r the people of thw ground who know nothing . Let peace shalom shalom.

Heart breaking. Nothing else.
I was born and grow up in Khartoum Sudan, I have witnessed wars in all forms, but what is happening now in Sudan is horrible and I really don’t know for how long this suffering will continue, but I hope it will stop now.
I can't comprehend this , it doesn't seem real , how does this much destruction happen without foreign intervention
South Sudan is lucky to have escaped this catastrophe.....may peace ultimately reign!
I just don't understand that scenario. Why is the leadership in SA not more vocal about what's happening in Sudan?
It's a pity that innocent people suffer like this and my question is where's are they getting weapons from you might find that the third force destabilize the country like this in order to steal the resources quietly.
SOUTH Africa did their part in Sudan....a little research won't hurt
Is they any way we can contact you privately and share you more info on how you can personally help these people? If you are willing to
No "Eyes on Sudan" hastag.....because it muslim vs muslim violence...
Yh muslim killing each other so no problem No All eyes on sudan❤❤
For this reason I decided that I'm no longer a Christian. Religion is a scam.
@@johnmolefe6765 The Jihadist Islam is worse of an option and Christians owes muslims nothing.
When did the problems of muslims became a problem of chritians?

Sad but these are the same people who are committing war crimes in the South against non Islamic people.
Where is South Africa?
@MrChetah South Sudan is cristian country. They separate becoz of religion.
@HutanBeringin89 because Islam is not peace
Thank you BBC Africa.A heart breaking and devastating tragedy. It is unfortunate that this conflict has been neglected by a majority of the western media.
O God, protect Sudan 🇸🇩, its people, and the unity of their word.
I am absolutely heartbroken.💔💔
I cry for Sudan 🇸🇩 may our Almighty God bring peace to Sudan because the women are the most people suffered in Sudan
I feel so sorry for my brothers and sisters of Sudan. I pray peace will return to Sudan. I want to visit Khartoum in the future but I can't if there is war in the country.
The level of care strongly correlates with the color of the suffering
I saw one reporter in Sudan pray that Israel would attack their country just to make people around the world know that what happened in Gaza is far worse than what is happening in Sudan and the world forget that Mas Murder is always happening everyday village by village, mostly committed by RSF. And no one really cared about them, and most of the victims were Muslim.
Yes. Far worse what is happening is sudan
Thank you for analyzing what is happening in my country, Sudan
great reporting
When i was visiting Sudan in 2008, people were complaining against Omar. I said, then get rid of it. Their answar was: each time we do this, it gets even worse. How true was that
This is a classic example of the evil that people will do for power.
It's pathetic and annoying. So what are they fighting for? Power to rule ghosts in the ruins? AU is a shame not to interfere or send in aid
@@emotiontv.101 yep...
Better coverage of Sudan's civil war. Thank you, BBC Africa. 🌍🙏🏻🇸🇩

It’s not a civil war

Very very painful indeed, UN where are you??? Where is your responsibility and morality now?????
Great reporting, thank you for not forgetting about Sudan 😔
Our nation will rise again 🇸🇩
Sad because of power struggles. People have to suffer.
Some people's thirst for power will lead them to do the unthinkable. It's really sad.
Mara zingine hata hiyo mbao hakuna. Labda jamaa couldnt walk.

My only question is why is the United Nations not doing anything to stop this massacre?
Finally. Something atleast better than nothing. It's sad & horrifying what's happening to the ppl of Sudan
Why is not serious or urgent when an issue of humanitarian is in Africa or Arabs..?

Selfish interests. But there's always an external force. Question is, how do you allow outsiders to influence you to kill and destroy your country? For what,? Personal gains? Things we will leave behind!
Two selfish interest leaders terrorist men has caused the destruction of Sudan innocent civilians they should be taken to task to be charged in international court
Oh mother of mercy. My heart bleeds for these children.
They must stop the war please 😢
The first very mistake Sudanese did was removing Al-Bashir. I stayed in Sudan for good 4 years. Sudan people destroyed their own country. May Allah restore peace in my second country, Sudan Amin.

Is it strange that almost all Muslim countries have wars going on in them? What is the underlying cause of these wars?
UAE supports one side (RSF) and the Saudis suppprt the army
Nothing but the greedy west and their corrupt Arab leaders.
Broken colonial institutions.
God please help these innocent civilians, the women and the children ! 🙏✝️🙏
Relevant international body should come together & put a final stop for the sake of humanity.
Well, they can't blame any one for this conflicts but themselves.
What wrong did the civilians do they're innocent other countries support the mercenaries to kill innocent people
We do blame the uae for supplying the rsf mercenaries with weapons
As that may be, there should be some intervention by the international community. Too many people are dying and suffering.
Yeah sure you can't blame the western governments that support rebel forces for their own benefit. Sudan is a resource-rich muslim country, if you have 1 braincell left you'd understand why it's targeted just like every other muslim country
Because of power. Ooh Africa
