This song stands among some real beauties on this incredible album from 1971 (I think). I have always loved it and you have done a great job. Thanks for your appreciation for this little know song.
I remember when these songs came out, and I used to sing them at work, and it's great seeing people like your age, singing them now. Well done your doing a great job, keep it up.love it.
I THINK YOU HAVE TO START WRITING YOUR OWN STUFF MAN. THE QUALITY OF YOUR VOICE IS AMAZING (IN RANGE AND TIMBRE). IF THAT GIFT WAS NOT ENOUGH,YOU ALSO OWN AN INCREDIBLE FINE EAR...YOU ALSO KNOW HOW TO PLAY SEVERAL INSTRUMENTS!!! I BELIEVE YOU ARE A BORN ARTIST, CONGRATULATIONS, AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING ALL THESE GREAT COVERS.
A great tune from "Surf's Up". You have done a really great job, Zach! Keep them coming! I must say you have a much better voice than Jack Rieley, the band's manager who somehow was allowed to do the song on the LP.
@@ZachWolfeMusic I learned to play it in Db. What a great progression. It's actually a rather slow song, which allows the organ to really vibrate. Sounds good. Right now, one of my favorite pieces to play.
Hi Zach, I came upon this quite by chance and I can only say it's 'Wonderful'. I'm a huge Beach Boys fan and this is indeed a neglected gem that you have covered beautifully. Keep up the good work and greetings from Wales :)
These look mostly good to me: tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the_beach_boys/a_day_in_the_life_of_a_tree_chords_1219934 Two corrections: first, there’s no F#m in the original between Em and Em7/G (“poetry to men of song”). Second, some of the names of chords, while not incorrect, are a bit goofy. For example, they wrote F#m/D instead of the equivalent Dmaj7 for some reason. That’s a bit of a nitpick though.
You have a wonderful organ, and your voice is very expressive! I do think a lot of people miss the point of this song, but the way you sing it assures me you understand the meaning behind this song.
I can’t remember if I found and tweaked someone else’s transcription or transcribed them myself. Ah come on man. Never equal Wilson's? So what? This is an obviously heartfelt and quite beautiful arrangement of one of Brian's most mysterious and touching compositions. Try it yourself.
Hey dude, this is incredible. Wondering if you wouldn't mind sending me the individual tracks? Hoping to use for personal use. Happy to remunerate you 👍🏽
Thanks. I think I have the files kicking around here somewhere, I’ll see what I can do. No remuneration necessary, but if you’d like to make a donation, I just setup a Liberapay account, something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Liberapay is kind of like Patreon if you’ve heard of that. Give whatever you think is fair (including nothing at all). Apparently only recurring weekly/monthly/yearly donations are supported, which is not exactly ideal in this case, but you can apparently cancel future payments right after the initial payment goes through. liberapay.com/ZachWolfeMusic
I found the files. Are you just interested in hearing the different parts of the arrangement, or do you want to make your own mix of the song? Just asking so I can export them the best way possible.

F**** awesome !
What key did you ply this song in?
I recorded it in the original key of Db major. But my organ is one semitone flat, so I actually played it in D.
@@ZachWolfeMusic I learned to play it in Db. What a great progression. It's actually a rather slow song, which allows the organ to really vibrate. Sounds good. Right now, one of my favorite pieces to play.

very talented voice bro. but it will never equal Wilson's
or whoever voiced the lyrics

Jack Rieley sang this one.

Bloody awful song. One of the worst Brian Wilson ever wrote.
