Great video. It is such a waste to buy fertilizer if you can use your own urine. But... I think the results depend on the plants. Urine is acidic, which means that plants that like acidic soil love it the most. I use it on Azaleas et cetera, but not on plants that prefer alcalic soils. For them I use charcoal, mixed with urine and diluted with water. This is what I learned from the internet; still learning and gladly hearing from other gardeners.

Soil neutralizes the urine and doesn’t really affect the acidity of the soil from what ive read

Try it on corn. Corn is a nitrogen loving plant.

You can also use wood ash instead of charcoal. It is alkaline and provides potassium.

Try diluting with fish aquarium water which is full of nitrites and nitrates. Fish pond water would work too.

Dear good people of the whole world, I definitely agree that it is good to mix urine with biochar. Before applying it to the soil, they recommend mixing 1/20 (one liter of urine in 20 liters of water). Look on UA-cam, there are many ways to use urine. It's important, because urine is an extremely strong fertilizer and I recommend mixing it with water before use. Not chlorinated water! I greet you from the small and beautiful country of Slovenia, a member of the EU

I thought you had to mix with water. It looks so potent those plants are gonna grow wings.

Americans would pay $30 for a gallon of human urine fertilizer if it was packaged in a pretty container and sold at Home Depot or Lowes stores...

Just avoid all this and urniate into a 10liter watering can and top up with water and fertilize the plants hardly any smell that way, or just urinate around a tree and water in with lots of water!

Also if you put some wood ashes in the bucket it prevents the smell and adds to the fertilizer.

Look up Lactic acid fermentation of human urine to improve its fertilizing value and reduce odour emissions.

When it comes to growing food, some things are just too repulsive to warrant doing.
I have an old hippie neighbor with a gorgeous organic garden and now I fear he may do this bc I’ve heard him speak about it.
It’s like being raped mentally; you don’t know that the bite of watery, crisp lettuce you are biting into was grown with old man piss.
    Just so disgusted.
Somehow animal urine almost seems okay, but there’s something so cannibalistic about humans doing this.

@@1975ba I'm so happy it amused you:))!
I read it back & admittedly laughed too.
Can't help but still feel that way, but I dunno, maybe I'm just a fanatic.
Curious in a genuine way, but what's your take on it?
If you went to someone's house for dinner
and you are eating a big beautiful salad that everyone at the table is raving about because it's so wonderful , fresh & colorful.
      And then the gardener & host says very nonchalantly;
I''ll tell you, this year's bounty was so prolific because I started saving jugs of my own urine on a weekly basis"
"I'd just roll out of bed & urinate into a bucket beside the bed"
After a week it was a little rank, but wow, I had at least 2 gallons of it by the end of the week!"
So I took it right out there & poured it around the roots of all the lettuces & voila!"
(if you'll humor me to actually imagine this scenario:))
      Just curious & thanks!

@@lahaza6515 We dump it on the soil, not the plant. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Think about the water you drink every day, every soda, every coffee you drink. It's all recycled pee, some of it from cave man days, just filtered by the earth.

If you only realised that each glass of water you drink used to be dinosaur pee (& maybe human pee a dozen times); & that this is Nature's way; it's more normal
