Why is Ponting (or anyone) expected to walk when there are umpires to rule them out? Gavaskar was an old jealous hog who hated the Australians for how good they were as he and his team couldn't do much and got demolished time and time again by them.
@@NaveenKumar-tv1vf You couldn't lick australian boot more if you tried. The replay clearly shows that the fielder put the ball down the ground before the catch can be considered as complete. And Ponting clearly lied about his field properly catching it. The point was that an umpire should not consult with the fielding team before giving the batsman out because they will obviously answer in favor of themselves. This is just as stupid as asking a batsman if he edged a catch or not. Gavaskar's and his old team's performance against australians has nothing to do with this.

Thanks Arif :) Let me tell you something about Bucknor; he used to be a football referee from Windies. Cricket was not even in the picture. He was not associated with any cricket matches played there. He was accused for continuation of game when there were almost no light in the 2007 ICC CWC Finale in Windies. Glad we have DRS these days. Most of these umpiring decisions have been compiled from matches more than a decade back where in almost every match or the other , there used to be umpiring bluders

A couple I think you missed. First the "finger wagging" incident between Mike Gatting and Shakoor Rana in about 1987. Second, the West Indies bowlers with Fred Goodall in the 1979/80 tour of New Zealand. Specifically Holding kicking down the stumps, and Colin Croft running into Goodall. The Goodall ones are definitely on UA-cam. In both cases, the umpires were somewhat to blame, as well as the players.
