Learning of her through her passing...a light has gone out in our world. May a memory be a blessing.
❤
Agreed 😢
A tragedy! Her mother died 24hrs later. Unbelievable. I hope now there will now be more of her on youtube. RIP
RIP dear Michaela, Amsterdam was so proud to have you here🙏🏻
My heart is broken…
My three-year-old daughter just watched this and screamed, "SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!!" She's certain she wants to be a ballerina now
stormkeepersage thats how Michaela started! I just read her book. She was four when she found a piece of magazine with a ballerina on the front cover
You should show her first position sometime.
You should let her start ballet.
Lol
stormkeepersage
Is your daughter in ballet now, 4 years later? 😃
Rest in Peace dear Michaela, you deserved a better life! You were amazing and beautiful. Now you are save and together with your dear parents. We never ever will forget you!!!❤ For always with us,love from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Rest in peace Michaela... Mabinty 🙏 Hard to believe you won't be around. Your story and your art will remembered ❤
I used to always come back to this performance when I was sad or needed inspiration. You will continue to inspire so many of us for the rest of our lives.
Rest in the perfect beauty that you are 🕊
I love how she has brown point shoes.#blackgirlsrock
Annah Stevenson what does the color of her shoes have to do with “black lives matter” and all that? 😂 like i stg someone could do anything just as good as a white person and people would be like “WOW THE BLACK GIRL DID SO MUCH BETTER BECAUSE SHES BLACK.” like there are thousands of white ballerinas who have trained their whole lives and they get barely any recognition while someone who is black dances for a couple years and is world famous because apparently black people are discriminated when really people tend to like them more because of “trauma of discrimination” that they’re great great great great great great aunt went through. like, ok white ppl have moved on but apparently a lot of black ppl haven’t because everyone always sets lower standards for themselves as black people and everyone says “omg she did this and she’s black” like get over it pretending that they are better because of the color of they’re skin is bullshit. everyone is capable of the same thing. she is there because of hard work not because she has darker skin and brown pointe shoes.
idk_what_to_put_here1887 BITCH ....... BYE
@@idk_what_to_put_here-dk6bj You seem triggered over a simple comment. Stop being so sensitive lol. She's a beautiful black ballerina. Get over it! 😘
@@idk_what_to_put_here-dk6bj The person was just stating their opinion and complementing the dancer and showing pride for black people. I feel like you were being a little too dramatic over the fact someone just wanted to compliment a dancer's shoes and showing support for black people. I feel like white people and black people equally get respect in the dance world no matter what age, gender, sexuality or nationality so there is no need to get upset over a person's opinion.😁 P.S. Not many dancers are black and no matter what race people across the globe has shown improvement and committed their whole life to dancing barely even getting a childhood or going to college. Everyone has their opinions , but there is no need to be upset over small details.
No, she’s right, that is the 2nd thing I noticed and was happy to see brown ballerina shoes.
I'm very annoyed by the editing. She is a BALLET dancer...being able to see her feet is important.
So true!
agree, I wish they'd just leave it at a wide shot
I LOVED her dancing, but the camera work hindered rather than showcased it, in my opinion.
Right?!
Dree same
SHE'S STUNNING!
Mind blowing! She looks like a beautiful dancing angel!!! Ah Perfection is beautiful. What a lovely gift from God and I thank you.
I love the simplicity and honesty of this dance. It was Michaela at her best RIP.x❤
Incredible maturity for such a young dancer. Her body control is stunningly beautiful.
I would love to see her in Swan Lake!!!! She'd be fantastic!!!!!
She was in a performance of Swan Lake. ;-)
Graanvlok omg tell me where to find it!? When? Did they record a video of her dancing? I would love to see in Swan Lake!
I will make sure, that my 6-year old will watch this, she loves ballet.
In honor and memory of this strong woman.
Rust zacht, Michaela 😢
OMG she's too encaptivating. You just can't get enough of her dancing. There is no one in this world or has been that is this good. She's practically flawless - she creates pictures when she dances. The eyes see many things when she dances. One just wants to live and breath her. She's what all dance tutors have been wanting to see from everyone that aspires to be a dancer. She will go down in history - well she should.
11kwright she already is :)
Agent lost girl Naturally, I guess she would be. She feels through her movement. Many dancers think that expression is about pulling that stereotypical face and really trying hard to over over stretch. However, with her it's all natural as though it was a natural calling to dance. It's easy for her to emote feelings through her movements.
11kwright ejjzmmMal
She is wonderful but calm down a bit ..
Maravillosa Micaela!!!!!😢
Michaela, thank you for existing as long as you did, beautiful ballerina.
🤎
I studied Ballet. Ballet is so much harder than it appears. Those who are very talented like Michaela, make it look so easy. Michaela was very talented. What a joy to Watch.
This is so gorgeous and it deserves more views than PewDiePie gets.
Tofu PofuThe world is full of hollow skull people, that's why she doesn't have enough views
Tofu Pofu exactly! I can't stand pewdiepie!
Tofu
Bruh
@@btbfree ah yes, because not being entertained by ballet makes people hollow skulls
This performance enthralls me. I suddenly started to see her as this beautiful bird with flowing feathers and wings. I can watch this over and over.
Seereene1 ❤My exact view of her
Perhaps it's just an unintentional bias on my part but a lot of the solo ballerina's I've seen have had at least parts of their dances covering themselves, sort of closed off and trying to protect or shield. I've seen that posture in plenty of places, but not here. No part of this beautiful performance felt closed off or shielded. It was beautiful.
It's true - her arms never folded, crossed and pulled in as if to protect from harm and retreat, pull close something desperately. No, she was open the whole time. It felt powerful, but vulnerable (not in the sense you wanted to hold her and comfort her, like the folding in posture) but in the sense she could be attacked for displaying herself openly. It was an interesting feeling.
As a dancer, I am in awe! So proud to see this, I pray woman of all cultures start pushing to be Principal Ballet Dancers. Beautiful lines.
Damn I wish I could analyse this too
An exquisite experience to watch!!!! Lucky me
Michaela watching was like arose blooming so amazing so blessed so talented keep being happy, your dance is your language of love!!
She is an incredible dancer and deserves more attention for it!
Lily's UA-cam Channel she just got a commercial about paying your bills on your phone either chase or verizon. ive seen it 3 or 4 times. she also has a book and a contract with netherlands dance company. she ia also always being interviewed by some media outlet. shes getting alot that other girls with more talent dont ever get
Cayla Prima I posted this a long time ago and I know she is famous
Lily's UA-cam Channel she was getting tons and tons of attention 2 months ago when you posted. she is above average, theres way, way better, and she is blank on stage with zero personality on stage.
Cayla Prima She has an interesting story, to literally come from a war-torn country to rise to the upper echelons of a very insular world. That’s something to aspire to. Most dancers have been coached, prodded and cajoled to excellence from an early age. Her natural talent is what guided her from a late start. I am in no way interested in ballet but she inspires me just because of her dedication and perseverance. That’s worth talking about!
Kim M I agree
She gives me goose bumps and hope.
Mind if I put that in a movie?
Such a beautiful and graceful talent 😥 Much love & strength to her family and friends..🙏🏽🎉
She is amazing. Born into poverty and orphaned, she never gave up on her dream. Her beautiful adopted mother believed in her and helped her achieve her success. ❤️
Michaela. You dance so beautifully. You've turned tragedy into triumph. I'm thankful that you've shared your gift; your love of dance with us. Stay strong and keep doing what what you love!!
Nope. She ki**ed herself instead.
Such grace and beauty. Tragic.
So incredibly beautiful ! I couldn't stop watching
stunning. a once in a generation talent, she will truly be missed
Gorgeous!
I read her book, and I relate to a small degree, because I'm a dancer and have been since I was 4. I've never been that good-but I love dancing, and seeing her absolute attention to every detail in her movement but making it look so natural at the same time is just amazing. After all the struggles she's gone through, it's amazing to see this.
I just learned of Michaela in the last few weeks, & what a tragedy to hear of her passing. R.I.P. Michaela. You lit a fire for so many young Black girlies who look like you to see themselves in Ballet & can now enjoy the simple pleasure of having shoes that match their skin tone. R.I.P. 🖤⭐️
This leaves me speechless 😶. Purely amazing and deserves more attention. To 44 haters that gave a thumbs down, it is sad you can’t appreciate this fine art.
Gorgeous. I love how expressive her arms are. Everything is so controlled, but feels so passionate.
I’m reading her book and it has made me cry many times she is such a amazing person she has been through more than any of us
She is awesome..gifted, well talented, and indeed beautiful.
R..I.P., Michaela DePrince. You were a beautiful light in the world and now your lovely soul can be a beautiful light with God.
What I love about her is that she looks 'normal', she doesn't have the incomparable physical perfection of Margot Fonteyn or Sylvie Guillem, she's that sporty friend at work who's better than everyone else, but still the same as everyone else - until she moves, and then she becomes another being entirely. It's the arms, more than anything else.
Exquisite perfection! How extraordinary! Thank you, so much, for sharing this!
Beautiful! It's been a while since I was captured by a classical ballet choreography. This was interesting. Beautifully executed! Bravo!
RIP to both Michaela and her mom Mama E. They both passed away within 24 hours of each other. And neither of them knew the other was sick, or had died.
I love her dancing her grace her poise it just beautiful it's a gift from above.
STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL... X 100000000000000000000000..........................!!!!!!!
Watching this I sense she's not just going through the motions, but has something she is conveying to us. We can thank her for sharing her gift with us and wish her peaceful eternal rest.
A rare talent and individual. May God bless and keep her!
michaela is amazing she is such an inspiration and as a black African dancer i can relate to all the difficulty she went threw and what i love the most is that she rose above all of it and came out strong and beautiful. i love you michaela
That’s a capital B (black)
An honest mistake I’m sure
For real for real!
Fly beautiful soul. So much courage, fire, grace.
Utterly beautiful. RIP brave soul!
so lovely, coming form a very pickey dancer. Wishing much success
Absolutely SPECTACULAR! I love her style
Love this! I saw a snippet on Instagram and had to see the whole thing!!
Beautiful I can’t wait to let my baby watch this when she wakes up!!!!
MSRIP ❤ What a beautiful & talented young lady. So sad to hear she has passed away😢💔
This is in my opinion the most exquisite footage of Michaela. It’s my favorite. Rest in peace , most beautiful soul 💜🩰
Soy bailarina de ballet 💖💞 y te felicito! Es impresionante!!! Me encanto!
Your mom and dad must be so proud. Just thinking how far you’ve come love!! I started watching your story about where you and your sister had come from and the horrors you’ve seen to this beautiful woman. Both you and your sister were so courageous!! ❣️🇨🇦
The still shots of this Majestic piece would be outstanding as was she the ultimate performer. Thankyou for all you shared Michaela DePrince❤🏴🇬🇧
I would love to c her perform dying swan, I think she will make a strong point...not that she need it, but ppl believe brown skin don't exist in ballet.
I love the way she dances! It's so elegant yet poweful, sensitive yet expressive. She is simply perfect!!!!
every second dance, every inch of her body is art
How graceful.. ART.. at its finest.. Beautiful.. Breaking down boundaries.. 👌👌👏👏👏👏👏💯
She reminds me of the workings of a clock in parts of this dance. So precise and keeping time. You are beautiful and so strong.
The most captivating dancer I've ever been lucky enough to set eyes on, hope she gets the credit she deserves.
Graceful and fluid. RIP Michaela.
my favorite dancer
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you. J. Taylor😢
She dances like an angel❤️
RIP What an incredible journey. I'm posting this September 2024. Michaela died a few days ago and they're not releasing the cause of death yet.
Horrible twist of irony her adoptive mother died one day later but had been in hospital and the family had not informed her of Micheala's death.
At this point we don't know how she died but what a horrible loss not only to the art but to those who followed her inspirational story.
There are no words to express how you have touched my soul through your dancing ♡
Man... She's so graceful
Respect for you Michaela. You came from so far to develop into one of the most talented ballerinas. You fulfilled your dream at last. Once again: respect, respect and respect!!!
Absolutely stunning performance. I just heard your story - what an amazing spirit. Michaela, you are so beautiful and you have undeniable talent. I was mesmerized ... I want to see
more!
Awesome
It is still difficult for some people to see the movements of a black ballerina, but I saw and felt your every move. They were so sincere and powerful; full of live and vibrance. Your movement says you have overcome and beat the odds of rejection and fear and you exude confidence. You have arrived and you are here to stay. I can see your halo, so shine girl shine. You are so wonderful and beautiful.
Jeanette Dawson what movements are of a black ballerina that differs from a white one.
Brown Queen I know right? I've never heard anyone say that. I'm confused as well.
Wait.... what
What’s that suppose to mean??
@@brownprincess7189 Ask your ancestors who thought that was possibly true when they exclude blacks from this genres. I never thought the capabilities was different for anyone. Given an equal chance all human are capable of extraordinary things. Don't act like you don't know what I'm referring to. Listen to her story of rejection before triumph!
My heart just breaks after watching her documentary on NBC and coming here to watch this. She is so graceful, and poised and strong. I cant believe she has endured as much as she has and is able to go through life with this. It just gives this dance so much more meaning for me and I cant help but cry. She has truly overcome alot and i thank God for her. This truly has inspired me to keep moving forward no matter what. Greatness is in her around her. Keep going strong michaela!!!! You are truly a great role model for other young women to keep striving and persevering no matter what. Thank you.
I love to discover a new ballerina to add to my small list of favorites, and she's definitely one of the top ones! And I love when choreography is filled with surprises.
Gone way too soon, angel... Spread your wings and fly towards the embrace of your parents 💕❤
Rest in peace, beauty and angel ...
So powerful yet graceful. Hauntingly stunning.
I never heard of her until her death... SHE WAS EXCELLENT!!!
Beautiful 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This video is my first experience with ballet. This was AMAZING and I want to see a showcase live now! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
She is simply poetry in motion
Rust zacht 🙏🏼❤️
Zo geraakt door haar geschiedenis, haar dansen en nu haar overlijden. Heb haar zien dansen bij het Nationale ballet: TOP.
Wow! Michaela is amazing. I love seeing her dance. I hope she has a great career.
Sometimes there are no words to explain witnessing a Divine Experience such as this.....We remember you always Michaela ❤
she is better than this choreography.
danceballetacro Totally agree...I'm so not feeling this but can see her executing other pieces so beautifully!
She is amazing beautiful 👏🏿👏🏿!!!!!
Rest in Peace Ms Michaela, your grace and talent for dance will be missed.
This is great and she is so fluent with her movements 💜
God bless you and keep you, Michaela. Rest in peace, sweet angel whom we were blessed to have in this earthly plaine for all the time allowed. You and your gifts will be remembered.
Love to you, your family, friends, colleagues, and all those you've touched all these years. Your radiant light is now blessing the heavens, but you will be missed here in our world 🙏🏻
We see here Ballet is just as enthralling with a strong earthy body
May God Bless You in Eternity, dear sister. You are home.
That was one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen. I dont know why this made me cry
She is simply so inspiring! Watching her dance is a pure joy, as you can see her connection and passion within every movement! Breathtaking!
I remember watching her in the documentary "First Position"...her talent was evident back then. The world became a little dimmer. Rest in peace to her and her mother.
Like why am I crying right now? It's Dec 25th, 2022 and I am spending my Christmas cry my eyes out at this beautiful work of art. Merry Christmas to anyone who is seeing this, and many blessings 💛
Unfortunately, I did not know who she was until I learned of her death. Now, I am obsessed. Her story is so inspiring. Her dancing is so strong and beautiful. I must read her book.
A true ode to the ability of dancing of the human body. Such a pity she passed away so young 😢❤🙏
Absolutely Beautiful! An Amazing 'Particle of Light'
