Both are made by Rolls Royce & both are 12 cyl, but no similarity after that. Meteor engine=650 HP; Rolls Merlin = 1500 to 2000 HP, depending on which version. And you're correct, not mounted upside down.

The Meteor engine was used in tanks, not aircraft. Also, the Merlins were never mounted in aircraft upside down.
