It a direct hit it's a near miss but to a boat like that it's almost the same but there will be less shrapnel also depending on whether it's HE or AP the result will be different but judging by the fact we saw no explosion it was AP so no explosive charge just a chunk of steel so I believe she in real life could have actually survived that also if you want an example on why to use HE against small unarmored craft search anything about Taffy 3 their boats survived a lot longer because the enemy that that they were armored so they used AP and that help those ships survive longer. So in conclusion if it was AP that was shot she should of survived, if it was HE she's Dead.
