    I can finally play this song. All the practicing was worth it and the last three pages are so fun to play. All those who are struggling to play this, don't give up!!

      +Joanna Cha I made my life even harder, in 2:36 I play my left hand with a octave on every first note (every note that starts a chord) I'm still practicing it, but man is it fun to play!

    Normally I don't listen to Piano covers for slow songs just because I find Piano covers of fast/complex songs to be more interesting.
    Lilium is the exception. I listen to every cover of it I find. It is honestly, to me, "despair - the song". It literally sounds like the emotion of despair itself if it were a sound.
    The way it builds just feels like despair slowly growing and becoming overwhelming to the point of leaving you with a feeling of hopelessness. Like the song is actively telling you that no matter what you do, horrible things are going to happen, and all you can do is witness them and hope you can survive it, emotionally and mentally.
    Just arguably the darkest song I have ever heard, and when I say "dark" I don't mean the generic "it's evil and miserable" dark. When I say "dark" I mean true darkness, that metaphorical bottomless depth you reach when every last one of your dreams is crushed and there's no reason to continue on yet you do so anyway in hopes that there's something better at the end, even if in reality there never was.
    There couldn't be a more fitting song for this anime.

    Id never played the piano before... ever... until I saw this video. The past 8 months I had been obsessed with this video in particular. actually I learned about eflin lied through this video as well.. anyway, EVERYDAY I had been practicing to play like this with a keyboard my parents bought me. Because the inspiration I got from you.. was able to play this piece at an assembly at my school. You will forever be my ideal, thank you.Stay awesome.

    This is one of the reasons why I had to take up playing piano again :o I haven't touched one in over... what... 10 years? I wasn't that good to begin with, but now I just have to practice like hell to be able to play this song myself :o

    • @Auxxua
      @Auxxua 10 років тому +4

      And it will take something like 5 to 10 years again to get to that level, to be able to play this :P But everyone has to have dreams :)

    • @vascohenrique
      @vascohenrique 10 років тому +11

      Auxxua That is a lie, it wont take him 5 to 10 years to learn this, more like 5 to 10 months.

    • @Auxxua
      @Auxxua 10 років тому

      that might be true. I've been practicing for the past 2 weeks the basics of piano playing, and I've advanced quite fast in it. Maybe it's because I've played before, but it won't be long before I can actually play something like this :)

    • @Arcanineisthebest
      @Arcanineisthebest 10 років тому +7

      Auxxua It will take 5 to 10 years to be able to COMPOSE like this, but if you know basics, you'll be able to play it in a year.

    Fantastic job Ishter. I love elfen lied [which made me cry, especially final episode], and I love this song. You did a fantastic job on this, as well as Dear you from Higurashi. You had me fighting tears with both pieces, so kudos to you. Musicians have to really put their heart into their music for that to happen to me, so it's obvious that you truly love what you do. Keep it up man, world needs more people like you.

    Elfen Lied was the first anime I ever saw that was able to put me into depression. I watched it beginning to end, and it had me so spellbound I immediately watched it again, and probably 10 more times over the following week. Years later I still get a little nuts if I dont watch it now and then. My eternal thanks to Ishter-kun for uploading this masterpiece, watching/listening to it was one of the few joys I had during that first post-Elfen Lied week.

    Oh god, when the triplets and sixteenth notes are layered at measure 35, so gorgeous and powerful. Great transcription!

    Einer der schönsten Anime die es gibt. Ich verbinde mit dieser Musik zwar nur schlechtes bzw. trauriges, doch irgendwie baut sie einen wieder auf. Really well played!

    Thank you so much for links to the sheet music. The most annoying thing in the world is when there is an amazing song like this with NO SHEETS. All that beauty just dies, as no one can replicate it. Thanks a Billion! :)

    Thank you very much.
    I think all of us thank you for the sheet music.
    Also, good thing to know you're learning with Sibelius. It's way easier than Finale.

    Holy crap, my left hand doesn't stretch far enough for the first bass chord.
    This is awesome work. You just hit top notch, right next to TalkWithYourFingers. Fine work.

    @PWIRairai I would guess because my old one showed my facial expressions, whereas on this video you can't really see my body expressions because of the camera angle.
    It's completely understandable: facial expressions are stronger to transmit emotions than auditory stimulation (when isolated, of course).

    I fell in love with this song when I first heard it. The anime story line and the music is all so beautiful. I can't stop thinking in about the incident with Lucy and how everyone was effected. Elfen lied is truly gorgeous in every way.
