Bought this car new at my local Chevrolet dealership - it ran for me trouble-free for 16 years. The "Chevy" Prizm was my gateway drug - out of GMC and into Toyota. Have bought exclusively Toyota ever since.
I had one just a base tho but it was worth everything and I’m now looking to get another one to baby with low mileage such a gas saver and just money saver in general, honestly I never had the car leave me stranded at all since I owned it for like 3 years drover it daily and never let me down just did oil changes, some suspension work and brakes as maintenance around 145k but someone hit the car and that’s the only reason why I don’t have it no more.
The Prizm look nice with a 2002 Toyota Corolla S front bumper on it with fog lights, rocker panel side skirts, charcoal color interior with red accents, and a 5 speed manual and it'll be like a sporty 1990 GEO Prism GSi sedan.
Surprisingly 7 years later the scion TC was sold for $17,000 so that's not even a big difference from this Chevy Prism. And the TC is definitely leagues ahead in technology.
@@damilolaakanni I just meant the same affordability for much improved tech. Like how computers used to be expensive for a slow one but today decent computers qreb affordable.

Not old enough to have seen this car back then, but I saw a Prizm on the road and had to look it up.

I saw one not too long ago. I was like "Wait, a Corolla with a blue plus on the trunk?"

Right
That’s a great idea!
I leased a '95 Prizm LSi for three years. I wished I was able to buy it but couldn't afford it.
Prizm was twice the car Cavalier was.
Prizm is version of Chevy Cavalier
@@fernandorocha8459nah it was a toyota corolla
Lots of safety features for the time!
Funny side note once the Geo name was dropped the sales on all three models dropped dramatically
I always thought the Corolla looked better in the rear

This and the Scion TC are completely different though. The TC was based on the second generation Toyota Avensis sold in Europe.
